Congratulations to Empire Energy Group and the Northern Territory Government on your new gas sales agreement signed today – which could see new gas supply produced for Territorians as early as next year. For the Northern Territory, the this gas supply agreement is critical for future energy security for residents, businesses, and industry and provides the opportunity for significant economic growth. The gas produced and transported from the NT will play a vital role in supporting the energy transition in Australia and across our region. We look forward to continuing to work with Empire Energy, Traditional Owners, local communities and other stakeholders to progress potential pipeline solutions and help boost domestic gas supply across the Northern Territory and Australia.

⏳ One year ago, we officially opened our new Northern Goldfields Interconnect (NGI) pipeline in Western Australia 😎 The 580-kilometre buried pipeline connects the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline to the Goldfields Gas Pipeline, providing better access to existing and new natural gas production regions and gas storage infrastructure, including the emerging Perth Basin. APA CEO and Managing Director Adam Watson Adam Watson said at the time that the NGI creates an interconnected gas pipeline network covering 2,690 kilometres from north to south and west to east, and supporting long-term growth in key parts of the state’s resources sector. "This infrastructure is the missing link in Western Australia’s gas network. For years an interconnected gas grid on the east coast has helped manage supply and demand challenges across key markets. With the completion of the NGI, linking Western Australia’s two major north-south gas pipelines, APA will ensure greater flexibility and security to meet the state’s long-term energy needs,” Mr Watson said. UGL’s APA Group Port Hedland Battery Energy Storage System (#BESS) project has hit a major milestone with the delivery of crucial batteries, marking the project’s final major equipment installation. As the team wrap up cable installations and terminations, they’re gearing up for the commissioning phase. 🎉 🔋 A feature of this project is the integration of Siemens Gamesa inverters, known for their high power and versatility, alongside Contemporary Amperex Technology Co (CATL) batteries. This pairing demands meticulous engineering of control systems to ensure grid stability during operations. “UGL has worked collaboratively with APA to meet their project schedule. We look forward to continuing that approach as we complete construction and move into commissioning and integration with APA’s existing assets”. Bradley de San Miguel project manager, UGL. By partnering with APA Group to reduce emissions in the Pilbara region, we reaffirm our commitment to #sustainable energy solutions.
