We are Australia's air navigation service provider, connecting people to their world safely. We provide air traffic control, aviation rescue and fire fighting and air navigation services. We safely manage 11 per cent of the world’s airspace where there are more than four million aircraft movements carrying more than 153 million passengers annually. We provide the aviation industry with telecommunications, aeronautical data, navigation services and aviation rescue fire fighting services.     👐 Creating safer, more inclusive and respectful workplaces 👐 As part of our commitment to creating safer, more inclusive and respectful workplaces, 20 team members recently undertook a four-day intensive Train the Trainer course with MATE Bystander Program ✨. The program, once complete, will help our SafePlace team facilitate more flexible Bystander courses at our sites nationally. These programs will aid our people to be active bystanders by recognising and respectfully challenging problematic behaviour. Led by Mate Bystander Program specialists, the training course equips our team with the skills and knowledge to co-facilitate two different workshops - Creating Respectful Workplaces and Cultural Change. #culturechange #bystander #psychologicalsafety #airservicesaustralia #inclusion #diversity

    ✈ Australian Aviation Network Overview ✈   The Australian Aviation Network Overview Financial Year 2024 report covering trends in the Australian aviation sector is now available to view. Highlights include: ➡ The Australian aviation network recorded 3.7 million aircraft movements tracking along pre-pandemic levels. ➡ Thursday, 28 March 2024 was the busiest day in terms of daily average flights in the last five years. ➡ Fifteen airlines that contribute to roughly a third of flights in the network recorded double-digit growth rates over the last 12 months. ➡ Traffic patterns continue to evolve and have become highly leisure driven, with an increasing trend to point-to-point services. ➡ Seventy new domestic routes have been added to the network, delivering more direct connectivity to the travelling public. ➡ Disruptions and volatility remain for the sector, highlighted by the suspension of operations by Bonza and Air Vanuatu.     🚒 Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting service celebrates RC100 graduation 👩🚒 👨🚒 We’re proud to welcome 24 new aviation rescue fire fighters to our service after their graduation at our Melbourne Training Facility last week.   These recruits signify a momentous milestone in Australian aviation history, representing the completion of 100 rounds of recruit courses for the service 🚒. An amazing achievement and we honour the countless individuals who’ve contributed to the success of our training programs, from instructors and mentors through to our leadership and team members. After 15 weeks of intense training, the recruits will now begin their careers at our stations across Australia. We’re currently recruiting aviation rescue fire fighter recruits across the country.     👩🚒 RC100 Silver Axe Award winner – Jasmin Wood on Seven Network 👩🚒   Congratulations to Jasmin Wood, the first woman in 12 years to receive our much-coveted national Silver Axe Award – Most Outstanding Recruit.   Jasmin, an ex-police officer, received the top honour for being the best recruit across all aspects of the training, from performance through to teamwork.   She is one of 24 extraordinary, new aviation rescue fire fighting recruits to graduate from our Melbourne Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) service Training Academy as part of Recruit Course 100 (RC100).   ARFF is the only national fire service in the country – a rapid intervention, first response service which engages within minutes to provide aviation rescue and fire fighting services at 27 of Australia’s busiest airports.     🌍 International connections and collaboration 🌍 Our Chief Culture and Diversity Officer, Danielle Mesa, recently attended the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) 2024 Global ATM Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan. The international event gathers fellow Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP) from across the world to collaborate and discuss important industry topics, with a focus this year on advancing sustainability. Danielle participated in an expert panel discussion on "Nurturing Talent for Tomorrow: Shaping our Future Skies".
