#Robots come with different physical layouts and suites of sensors and actuators, which heavily influence the software being used to control it. For instance, a #robotic arm might be static, have a complex arrangement of joints and fingers, and collect video from a camera on its wrist. Meanwhile, a quadruped robot is constantly on the move and relies on force feedback from the legs to manoeuvre. This makes training a single AI model on these large collections of data challenging. But now, researchers have created a single control policy that can operate robotic arms, wheeled robots, and quadrupeds on tasks as varied as obstacle avoidance, picking and placing objects, and cutting sushi. Exciting news just in 🚨 Advanced Navigation has announced an AUD 8.7 million deal with Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA). Under this deal, we will supply over a hundred Boreas D70s, a strategic-grade digital fibre-optic gyroscope inertial navigation system (DFOG INS), to HDA’s Redback infantry fighting vehicles as part of the LAND 400 Phase 3 Program. In environments where the disruption of #GNSS signals can undermine #navigation, Boreas D70 becomes the sole source for directional guidance, providing the Redback with the independent control, situational awareness and positioning critical to staying operational. This ensures high-level protection and mobility for soldiers to respond to formidable challenges. As the only Australian company with the capability to manufacture DFOG technology, Advanced Navigation is extremely proud to fuse our expertise in #APNT with Hanwha’s world-class vehicles.
