The Wentworth Orange: DOORS ARE OPEN! After much anticipation, The Wentworth Orange opened its doors to the public on Monday, July 8, and was instantly embraced by the community, eager to experience this incredible hospitality venue. The patron response for the first week has been staggering. The Wentworth Orange is operated by the Orange Ex-Services Club, which is a substantial business in its own right, and the biggest employer is Orange. The preparation required to open a venue like this is enormous. The operations of the OESC basically doubled overnight. It is absolutely amazing that they were able to open this venue only a matter of days after practical completion was reached, and Renascent Regional, the head contractor, handed over the building. It was a delight to attend the official opening ceremony on Thursday, July 11, to celebrate this monumental achievement and to recognise the many people who contributed to this landmark project. There were 100 invited guests at the opening, and more than 200 other patrons in the venue at the time..... just three days after the opening! It has been a privilege for ABEO to be one of the many collaborators on this project. T'the Wentworth Orange' Following a prolonged concept design process, this landmark building went into overdrive...,we will have fully developed the design, obtained DA, documented, tendered, and completed a 24 month built time all within 36 months. This has only been achievable with the assistance of an open-minded client in the Orange ExServices Club, a committed project team, a supportive Council, and the competence of Renascent Regional, and a huge amount of hard work. Thanks to all involved, with special thanks to the ABEO project team; Jason Ma, Edward Wong, Helena VanGerwen & Tim Wise... great work by a great team!

CHECK OUT THE SUNKEN TERRACE The construction of the new Wentworth Golf Club is charging!... the structure and building services work is being closely followed by the finishing trades, and the building is really starting to take shape. This is a complex building, with very low tolerances and loads of tricky details…. (as we are constantly reminded by the builder…) but @renascent_australia have been driving the construction very well, and understand that every detail matters! Our client @orangeexservicesclub, has been diligently planning, and preparing for the monumental task of opening the doors to an entirely new venue of this scale, to their high standards… whilst managing their other Club, which is a substantial business on its own. The orientation of the sunken terrace (… with the help of the extended blade walls…), frames a view across the rather large dam, that is not visible from other parts of the Club. The lower level of the terrace floor, exposes the elevated sports lounge to the same tailored view. When the huge expanse of the bi-fold windows are open, the ‘internal’ sports lounge, will feel more like an outdoor area. One important detail has changed from our 3D images, is that the bi-fold windows only stack at the ends, not in the middle. So, when the bi-fold windows are open, the clear span of the opening will be 13M long and 2.4M high…. Nice! Our current refurbishment project @griffithexiesclub was carved up into three construction stages, so that the Club could provide all core services throughout the works. This involved considers planning, and some very tricky site management by @meridianconstructionservices, who have taken it all in their stride. The completion of the first two stages, has been met with enthusiasm by patrons, and encouraging early financial performance.

OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW We have been very fortunate to work with @griffithexiesclub on an extensive refurbishment project to totally transform the entire venue. The first thing that our friend @meridianconstructionservices to do was … ‘strip in all out, and then start again’, and that’s exactly what they did. The @griffithexiesclub had a lot of secrets hidden within its walls, and we found them all. Nothing some creative on the spot structural engineering can’t fix … @cookandroe thinking outside the box. This project at @griffithexiesclub it a total refurbishment. The existing building has been striped back to its bare bones, so that the new fitout could start from a blank canvas. This allowed us to be able to completely re-planned the venue so, that is totally works as a whole. 

Abeo has had the absolute pleasure to have been working with the Mittagong RSL Club for more than 10 years... During that time, we have collaborated with their exceptional management team, to transform the majority of their successful business. With progressive Board oversight, and considered management, the Club has experienced enviable financial outcomes from each project. Their most recent aspirational project, is a collaboration of two established brands, Mitto (as we affectionately refer to this client...), and Tabatinga, leaders in the children's entertainment space. Following numerous Covid related delays, Tabatinga Mittagong is finally open... Special thanks to the Mitto team, and our long time friends of Brian & Kathy from Tabatinga, for joining us on the journey...
