This week, IOM Uzbekistan has unveiled key research findings on HIV prevention and control for migrants at the 25th International AIDS Conference in Munich . The study, conducted through the "Enhancing Access to HIV Prevention and Treatment for Migrants and their Families in Uzbekistan" Project, highlights the need for inclusive HIV policies for Uzbek migrants. In partnership with UNAIDS, IOM Uzbekistan conducted a comprehensive review to identify gaps and opportunities in Uzbekistan's HIV strategies, through a migrant-inclusive lens. Key recommendations include: 🔷 Integrating HIV measures into migration laws 🔷 Creating roadmaps for migrant-focused HIV interventions 🔷 Establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for remote HIV services These efforts mark a significant step towards ensuring that Uzbek migrants living with HIV receive the necessary support and treatment that they need.
