Based on 8 years as a regional sustainability, energy, and environment commission who advised and commenting on building design for my county, the key lessons we learned are: 1: Bring stakeholders into the process as early as possible to mitigate design and construction overruns. 2: Have a clear understanding of how trade impacts product costs, e.g., steel, cement, etc. and forecast accordingly. 3: Design and build for buildings that will exist and be functional for more than 100 years given future environmental and social constraints. 4: Design buildings that will be multipurpose and have flexibility built into their internal operations and maintenance modelling to allow for long-term sustainability.

DEI policies are really important and can enhance a company's culture and grow its business. For us, diversity is a fact and we are judged by our approach to inclusion that is formed by the choices we make everyday when we surround ourselves not by those who agree with us or whose identity we relate to, rather by those whose diverse experiences can drive both business growth and sustainability impact while we can learn from them with humility and gratitude. Thus, we have adopted six DEI principles: 1: Pipeline expansion. 2: Talent acquisition. 3: Promotion and retention. 4: Leadership and participation in industry. 5: Influence and impact. 6: Reporting and measurement.

Executive management successful project management requires understanding the "iron triangle" of scope, resources, and time. - Scope is the technical work to be done to deliver a working product. - Resources include budget and team members on the project. - Time refers to when teams will deliver market releases and milestones. With corner of the iron triangle impacts the other two corners.

Fintech literacy requires an understanding of the history of finance. Most individuals and many institutions have very little understanding of the history of finance. Take an idea like offsets, which have been successfully used since first proposed by the U.S. EPA in 1977 by Mr. John Palmisano and his team. Many people think offsets are new yet they have been functioning in one form or another for over 40 years. As with many other financial innovations in the fintech sector, most ideas are not new and knowing financial history can provide one with a competitive advantage that informs strategic decision-making.
