As innovation leader in the field of high-resolution 3D printing, we see it as our mission to upscale nanofabrication. UpNano is a Vienna (Austria) based high-tech company with the focus on development, manufacturing and commercialization of high-resolution 3D-printers. The systems are based on 2-photon-polymerization which offer industry-leading speed and resolution down to 0.2 µm. UpNano is committed to providing customers with a holistic package of hardware, software and optimized printing materials, for the fabrication of polymeric microparts as well as the unique possibility of bioprinting in a native cell environment. Using UpNano’s cutting-edge technology makes it possible to print objects with sizes ranging from the sub-micrometer to the centimeter range and up to 40 mm in height – within times and precision never achieved before. UpNano was founded in September 2018 as a spin off of the TU Wien and has since developed into an established provider of 3D printing systems for research facilities, universities and businesses worldwide.

    Next week we'll be attending the Montana State University's Optical Technology Center's 30th annual OpTeC Conference! Optics is a main area of application for our NanoOne 2-photon polymerization printer and optically transparent resins which in combination provide the ability to print high-precision parts such as lenses, lens arrays and more.     We hosted an incredible NanoOne User Summit and Boston AM Nanofabrication Networking event yesterday in Boston! 💡 The NanoOne User Summit was an amazing chance to connect with our users in the MIT.nano community and locally. Users had a chance to present their research to the MIT community and members of the UpNano leadership team. It was a great way to see the progress everyone has made with our powerful 2PP 3D printing platform and see a hint at what the future may hold. Following the summit, we hosted an additive manufacturing and nanofabrication networking event to connect with others in the Boston 3D printing industry. We spent the evening sharing experiences and building connections.     Exciting news alert! 🌟 The Medizinische Universität Innsbruck received financing for their "3D Nanofabrication" project, led by Judith Hagenbuchner and Michael Ausserlechner, which included a NanoOne bio that we installed for them recently.   The funding will enrich their facilities with a wide range of research opportunities utilizing the power of 2-photon polymerization through our NanoOne which is the only 2PP 3D printing device equipped with an integrated bio-unit.   "The technology has a resolution of about 200 nanometers, which allows structures and surfaces in the subcellular area to be generated," explained Ausserlechner.     Check out the stunning precision in these various lattice cubes sized at a mere 350x350x350 µm! Each one could fit on the tip of a sharpened pencil. These beauties were printed on our NanoOne, a high-performance 2-photon polymerization (2PP) 3D printing system, with our high-resolution resin, UpBrix. The tiny blocks show off the NanoOne’s ability to create complex 3D lattice structures with tailored porosity for architectured foams, meta materials or cell scaffolds. This incredible size and precision shows what can be achieved with the combination of our NanoOne powered by 2PP, Think3D software and optimized in-house materials.     Day 2 of our Offsite: A day for play! 🍫 🏰 We started the day off at Zotter Schokolade for a mouth-watering tour of their factory. The team indulged in their bean-to-bar experience and sampled dozens of delicious, fair trade chocolate flavors. Not only was this a tasty experience for the team but it was also set in a gorgeous location with views of rolling hills and even a petting zoo! Next, some of us hiked and some of us took the via ferrata route to the historic Riegersburg Castle. It was a great way to walk off all of that chocolate we just ate. After exploring the beautiful medieval castle, we finished the day off with a late lunch overlooking the hills and castle.
