🌍 Join TTV-GUIDE on this Global Day Against Pain! 🌟 Today, as we observe the Global Day Against Pain, we recognize the importance of pain management and the ongoing efforts to alleviate suffering worldwide. Pain, whether acute or chronic, is a significant global health issue that impacts quality of life and requires dedicated attention and innovative solutions. At #TTVGuide, we contribute to this global challenge by optimizing immunosuppression for kidney transplant recipients. Our innovative use of the Torque Teno Virus (#TTV) as a biomarker helps adjust immunosuppression levels, ensuring patients receive tailored therapy that minimizes pain and discomfort associated with over- or under-immunosuppression, thereby enhancing overall patient well-being and safety. 🤝 Together, let’s continue to push the boundaries of medical science to reduce pain and improve lives everywhere! For more insights into our efforts and to join the movement towards better pain management, follow our journey and engage with the global community committed to making a difference. #GlobalDayAgainstPain #PainManagement #KidneyTransplant #PatientSafety #TTV #HealthcareInnovation #EUProject #Horizon2020 #ChronicPain #AcutePain #MedicalScience

🫀🫘✨ Saturday marked the #EuropeanDonationDay, where across Europe people united to highlight the life-saving power of organ donations! At the TTV-GUIDE project, we are working hard to support #kidneytransplant recipients by improving the way we guide immunosuppressive treatments -ensuring better outcomes for those who have received a new organ. 💙 Our team of dedicated nephrologists, healthcare professionals, and researchers from centers across Europe is committed to making a difference. We’re investigating how the Torque Teno Virus (#TTV) - a harmless virus we all have in our bloodstream - can help us monitor immune responses and provide a more personalized approach to post-transplant care - using TTV as a potential ‘immunometer’ to fine-tune #immunosuppression treatment. 🔬 Swipe through the photos to see our passionate teams across Europe who are working on this groundbreaking #clinicalstudy. 📸👩⚕️👨⚕️ Let’s raise awareness about the importance of #organdonation and support those who rely on it. Every transplant is a second chance at life, and we are proud to be part of this mission. 🙌 🔗 Follow us and join the conversation! Help us spread the word about the power of organ donation and learn more about the TT virus! #OrganDonationDay #TransplantationAwareness #SavingLives #KidneyTransplant #Immunosuppression #TTVGuide #ClinicalTrials #OrganDonationMatters #Nephrology #PersonalizedMedicine #Horizon2020 #EuropeanHealth #EuropeanDonationDay #OneDecision

I am happy and grateful to tell I was granted the ESCV Biomerieux Award 2024 at the recent annual meeting of the European Society for Clinical Virology in Frankfurt, for ‘leadership in the area of polyomavirus and anellovirus research’. In the corresponding lecture, I presented some highlights of our work on TS and BK polyomavirus and torque teno virus. Of course many colleagues, in the lab and in the clinic, at Leiden University Medical Center and at Sanquin, contribute(d) over the years, of whom I like to thank especially Els van der Meijden, Siamaque Kazem (PhD), @Herman Wunderink, Sergio Kamminga, Caroline de Brouwer, Aline van Rijn, Wouter Moest, Joris Rotmans, Chaimae Akile, Boris Hogema, @Michel Molier, Erin Meijers and Els Wessels for their dedication, commitment and laughs during the work. #TTVGUIDE #SQUEEZE projects Bourgeois Philippe Gregor Bond Paul Studenic

🌍 Join TTV-GUIDE in celebrating World Patient Safety Day 2024! 🌟 Initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO), World Patient Safety Day underscores the critical need for global solidarity and concerted action to enhance #PatientSafety. Today’s focus is on empowering patients, families, and caregivers to foster improvements in healthcare safety. At TTV Guide TX, we’re committed to ensuring the safety of #kidneytransplant recipients through our pioneering work with the Torque Teno Virus (#TTV) to personalize immunosuppression. By monitoring TTV levels, we aim to prevent both over-immunosuppression and under-immunosuppression, significantly reducing the risk of infections and graft rejections—key aspects of patient safety in #transplantation. 🤝 Let's unite for better patient care and outcomes in transplantation! It's time to meet another one of our 13 recruiting centres involved in our #clinicaltrial. Our trial is conducted within the scope of the #Horizon2020 funded #EUproject TTV-GUIDE and it deals with #immunosuppression in #kidneytransplants and how the Torque Teno Virus (#TTV) can potentially improve finding the right balance in immunosuppressive drugs. Meet the #nephrology and the #virology team at University of Strasbourg Hospital (CHU de Strasbourg) around Prof. Sophie Caillard and Dr. Ilies Benotmane and learn about their roles and contributions to our common cause. Very happy and grateful to have the team on board!! 👩🏻⚕️👨🏼⚕️ #ECfunding #Healthcare #InnovationInHealthcare #ClinicalStudy #kidney
