Since the end of last year, I have been strengthening the TAG GmbH for Plant Engineering and Process Safety with great commitment and enthusiasm. As Pipeline Integrity & Process Safety Manager, it is my responsibility to ensure the safety and reliability of our pipeline system and thus make a significant contribution to domestic supply security. In the first few months in my new position, I have already been able to gain some exciting experience and take responsibility for projects:   🚀 Project 2024 - pigging the TAG pipeline A highlight of the upcoming months will be the pigging of the pipelines from Baumgarten to Arnoldstein. In this complex activity, the pipeline is cleaned and inspected using a special device known as a ‘pig’. Regular pigging ensures that the gas transport works smoothly and safely. The pigging will be carried out under the provisions of the new “Regulation on methane emissions reduction in the energy sector”, which makes stringent restrictions about methane emissions.   🤝 Collaboration with partners An essential part of my job is working closely with a wide range of partners - from transporting the equipment to coordinating the compression systems. Only together can the success of projects be ensured. Process Safety Management ensures that all safety standards are regularly evaluated and adhered to.   💼 Entry and development at #TAG What I appreciate about my job is not only the exciting tasks, but also the extensive training and development opportunities. It's good to see progress on the Central European Energy Route – the #SoutH2Corridor! 💡 📈 🌿 On Thursday, July 18th, 2024, at the 4th Trilateral Forum (Italy-Austria-Germany) in Rome, Italy, we discussed the necessary steps to advance the hydrogen economy for the successful and synchronous realization of the SoutH2Corridor. The focus was on financing, regulatory challenges, and recent developments on hydrogen. TAG’s experts, such as Brigitte Straka-Lang and Daniele Gamba, Managing Directors at TAG GmbH, along with Florian Ahammer, Business Development & Energy Management, and Maximilian Wallisch, Focal Point Treasury, took part in this working group sessions. In addition to the four TSOs – Snam S.p.A., Gas Connect Austria, bayernets GmbH, and TAG GmbH – representatives of the regulators from Italy, Germany, and Austria, as well as financial institutions, were also present. Together with the Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the German Energy Agency (dena), a series of high-level meetings were held. Thank you to the Italian Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica, for organizing this influential international gathering! With its PCI project "H2-Readiness of the TAG Pipeline System", TAG GmbH, together with the transmission system operators Snam S.p.A., Gas Connect Austria and bayernets GmbH, is developing the #SoutH2Corridor – a 3,300 km dedicated hydrogen pipeline corridor for future hydrogen supply from North Africa. We plan to convert one of TAG’s three strands to transport pure hydrogen by 2030. TAG’s core mission – to support the flow of energy – will gradually transform into supporting the flow of even more SUSTAINABLE energy. Why the Name Change? ✅ Familiarity and Practicality: In our industry, we are widely recognized as TAG GmbH. The previous long name was no longer practical as our partners already refer to us as TAG GmbH. 🔄 Expanding Services: Our activities now extend beyond the transport of natural gas. 🎧With our engagement, pupils from primary schools in Finkenstein and Fürnitz in Carinthia, Austria, and Eggendorf and Unterwaltersdorf in Lower Austria, created their own audio plays in June 2024. This exciting Austrian Buchklub reading promotion project "Reading with all the senses" has been running for many years and has produced numerous successful projects along the #TAGPipeline. 🌟This year, the project expanded its focus beyond STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to include technical know-how. This innovative approach supports reading while fostering collaboration and communication among students. ❤️Our commitment to this project underscores the importance of reading and opens new perspectives for young minds. This collaboration not only benefits the schools but also allows us to engage with and contribute to the communities along our pipelines. 📚The #AustrianBuchklub, a non-profit organization, is Austria's largest institution dedicated to promoting age-appropriate reading and language development for children. 🌍 A new important milestone for ENNOH! 🌍 Today marks a significant step in shaping Europe's energy future. 37 infrastructure companies from across the EU met in Brussels. Our goal? To finalise the agreements for setting up the European Network of Network Operators for Hydrogen (ENNOH). 🤝 In a landmark meeting with EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson, we handed over the agreements reached between the companies in line with the Hydrogen and Decarbonised Gas Market Package. This pivotal moment follows six months of intense collaboration among future Hydrogen Transmission Network Operators (HTNOs). ACER and the European Commission will soon start reviewing the ENNOH deliverables. For the operators, the focus now shifts towards creating an ambitious Work Programme for the coming period before ENNOH is formally established. Collaborating with ENTSO-E, ENTSOG, the EU DSO Entity, and other stakeholders, we are looking forward to tackling our initial tasks in 2025. Attending #ACHEMA 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany, on behalf of Trans Austria Gasleitung GmbH was an incredible experience.
