As co-chair of the Child Rights Action group, SOS Children’s Villages attended the first plenary of the European Parliament in Strasbourg this week.   This visit was organized in the context of the #VoteforChildren campaign with colleagues from Missing Children Europe, Save the Children Europe, UNICEF EU, and World Vision EU Representation to ensure #childrenrights remain a political priority of the #EU in the coming legislature.   It was a great opportunity to meet with newly elected Members of the European Parliament and representatives of the political groups to discuss how to work together to make sure no child is left behind in and outside the EU.   We shared the #ChildRightsManifesto for #MEPs to become Child Rights Champions and commit to protect and promote the rights of children throughout their mandate. 'My children's psychological state is disastrous,' says Islam, a mother from #Gaza whose family has had to relocate three times since the start of the war. Over one million children - almost every child in Gaza - need mental health support today. SOS Children's Villages Palestine has been providing #mentalhealth and psychosocial support to children and their caregivers displaced from the SOS Children's Villages in Rafah and to families in the local community in central Gaza. #MHPSS #CeasefireNOW
