We are thrilled to announce our $60M Series A financing led by Korean In-Vitro Diagnostics company, Osang Healthcare Co., Ltd (OSANG LLC, OSANG Healthcare US (OHC)). The funding will expedite our clinical work and regulatory approval filings to bring to market our smart biosensor technology for connected digital health platforms. Osang brings world-class excellence as a high-volume diagnostics manufacturer, as well as global reach, and we are thrilled to be partnering with them to scale our technology for commercialization. Our mutual strengths greatly complement one another, but equally important is the terrific working relationship we have developed together. The teams are off to a fantastic start, and we look forward to delivering our shared mission together. Incredible thanks to Osang Chairman Dong-Hyun Lee (donghyun lee), Osang LLC CEO, Dan Lee (Dan Lee), and Osang’s Head of their International Business Division, James Woo (Jeong Suk Woo), for believing in our vision and sharing this journey with us. Thankfully, they overlooked my greatly overrated golf game. But no journey starts in the present, and we wouldn’t be here without some incredible investors and friends along the way who believed in us, supported us, and mentored us as we grew as a company and as individuals. Last Friday, we had the honour of visiting PUSH at their beautiful office space in Vienna. As a Venture Capital fund specialising in forward thinking startups in the fields of climate tech and healthcare, PUSH plays a vital role in the entrepreneurial landscape of Austria and wider Europe. During our workshop, we delved into the intricacies of venture capital investing. We learned that VCs like PUSH operate as seasoned early stage investors, which can sometimes mean investing into a promising idea and a skilled founder alone. While this approach involves substantial risk, it also presents the opportunity for significant rewards. Hence it is imperative to have a skilled and agile team in your fund to make the best possible investments. Definitely true for PUSH! The workshop shed light on the structured phases of VC investing, from fundraising round, followed by the evaluation and investment, leading to the continuous monitoring and support of the portfolio companies, until their exit. Our host shared with us that, simultaneously, these phases are impacted by the current market situation and trends. For example in the area of healthcare, the pandemic significantly accelerated the rate of innovation and development across the entire sector. All in all, this experience deepened our understanding of VCs at an operative level, and definitely ignited a keen interest in many of our members to explore the industry further!
