🌍Project Milestone in Zambia🌱 FAO, in collaboration with WEAC ZAMBIA and SensXAfrica Limited, has successfully provided technical and business skills training to 50 Zambian youth agripreneurs from all nine provinces, and engaged in various value chains! After five months of intensive training, the top 10 agripreneurs advanced to the final pitch event, where five emerged victorious! 🚀 Exciting Project Update 🌱 In partnership with Innohub, FAO empowered 60 young agripreneurs in Ghana through an incubation programme with essential skills and resources to excel in the agrifood sector. Through extensive training and mentorship, participants enhanced their knowledge in: - Financial literacy and investment readiness - E-marketing skills - Innovative agricultural practices The project culminated in an inspiring pitch event in March 2024 where 10 finalists presented their innovative businesses. We are proud to have awarded $1000 grants to five outstanding agripreneurs to support their entrepreneurial endeavors. They are FemFarmLife, ProSect Feed, Sagrisalma Limited Company, Tropical Snacks and @Antanah Farms. The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from the programme participants underscore the project's relevance and effectiveness. 🌍 OYAProgramme in Zambia: Celebrating Success and Sowing Seeds for the Future! 🌱 Our recent mission in #Zambia 🇿🇲 was filled with inspiration and impact. We kicked off with the #WorldFoodDay2023 celebrations at Chipembi Girls Secondary School, graced by the young students' hospitality. 👩🏿🎓 But the highlight was meeting our #OYA aquaculture trainees. In Solwezi, young agripreneurs are now managing fish ponds at the local Department of Fisheries.🐟 In Ndola, we were captivated by the story of Aubrain Lyavuka. After our training, Aubrain's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own business, developing seven fish ponds with plans for five more. His journey showcases the transformative power of education and determination. ⭐ In Kapiri Mposhi and Nyimba, we launched the #Soyabean value chain capacity-building training, mixing classroom knowledge with hands-on field experience. 🫘 Zambia's future #agripreneurs are here, and we're proud to be part of their journey!
