The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the world's largest regional security organization. Its 57 participating States span the geographical area from Vancouver to Vladivostok. Born in the early 1970s as the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe, it served as an important multilateral forum for dialogue between East and West during the Cold War. It was also instrumental in tackling the numerous security challenges that arose in Europe after the collapse of communism. Today, the OSCE, its institutions, and its 16 field operations are actively involved in a broad range of security- and stability-related activities including election monitoring, human rights, legislative reform, rule of law and media freedom, as well as combating human trafficking, terrorism and the smuggling of small arms and light weapons.

💧 Water is life. Water is security. And where there’s water, there’s people. That's why efficient and sustainable water management approaches must be people-centred. At the OSCE, we facilitate the exchange of good practices in water governance across national borders – for example through forums: https://lnkd.in/giY23K6e 🌊 For a more equitable, prosperous and secure tomorrow for all. #WWWeek

💭 What do you do if water runs out? It’s a scary thought, and a growing reality for more and more people. Water scarcity is a real global threat. And no one country can address it alone. That’s why people across the OSCE region are working together with our help to find ways to manage and preserve water resources. 🤝 The goal? Ensure there’s enough water for everyone so shortages don’t become tensions and tensions don’t become conflicts. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ggY_VV2 #WWWeek

🌍 More than 70 % of our planet is water, but less than 1 % of that is usable. And that number is shrinking every day. Water is one of our most precious natural resources. If we don't work together to safeguard and protect it at all costs, the repercussions will be severe. 🚫💧 Next week, the leading global event on water issues is taking place. Register for #WorldWaterWeek where we will join panels on addressing some of the world’s greatest water-related challenges.
