Big news from our portfolio company Black Semiconductor! We are thrilled to share that Black Semiconductor has successfully secured an impressive €254.4 million in their Series A and the IPCEI ME/CT program! This marks one of the largest funding rounds ever for a chip manufacturing company in Europe. 🚀 The investment includes €228.7 million in public funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW, along with €25.7 million in equity investment led by Porsche Ventures and Project A. New investors such as East Hill Equity - Managing Scania Growth Capital, TVF | TechVision Fonds, and NRW.BANK have joined this round, alongside seed investors Vsquared Ventures, Cambium Capital Management, and of course Onsight Ventures. 🌟 We couldn't be more excited about this incredible milestone. Congratulations to Daniel Schall, Sebastian Schall and the entire team at Black Semiconductor on this significant achievement! 👏

We are delighted to share our participation in the € 10.5 million funding round for the Swiss startup Synthara AG! 🚀 Synthara's innovative ComputeRAM technology is setting the stage to become the "Arm of small chips" in the AI era, significantly enhancing devices from wearables to sensors with unmatched efficiency and power. Hermann Hauser, co-founder of Arm, member of the Onsight Ventures Advisory Board and now also advisor to Synthara has remarked: "The seamless integration of in-memory computing into existing chip designs is a game-changer, significantly enhancing capabilities and performance. This advancement is particularly relevant for AI applications, where the need for faster, more efficient processing is paramount". We are eager to see Synthara redefine embedded processing. Huge congratulations to the entire Synthara team on this substantial investment and their continued efforts to transform the AI landscape! This funding round, led by Vsquared Ventures, includes participation from OTB Ventures, Deeptech Labs, and contributions from European and Swiss grants, as well as continued support from existing investors including HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds, DeepIE Ventures, Excellis, Zürcher Kantonalbank, and their first investor and supporter, Sandeep Raju.
