He also urged food companies to disclose annual sales figures for “healthy” versus “unhealthy” products. This week we were very pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Libermann as Nomad Foods’ Group Executive President.   Steven joined Nomad Foods as part of the acquisition of Findus in 2015, where he was CEO of Findus Southern Europe. Steven has led Nomad Foods’ Southern Europe region (Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal) since July 2018. In January 2023 he took responsibility for the UK & Ireland business and Global Sales, before being appointed as Executive President FBN (France, Belgium, Netherlands), Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal), UK & Ireland and Global Sales in July 2023.   Steven will be responsible for driving profitable growth across all of Nomad Foods’ 22 markets and channels.   To find out more, please find the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eCYD9GGz

Today we’re very excited to welcome Morrisons to the The Move to -15°C, an industry coalition launched at COP28 and dedicated to cutting carbon emissions in the frozen food supply chain. As our CEO Stefan Descheemaeker says, “We know from our study that increasing the temperature at which we store frozen food can significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Establishing an end-to-end frozen industry alliance, to put our findings into action, will be the key to unlocking widespread change.”   Earlier this year we announced the 18-month results of our industry leading study, with Campden BRI, exploring if frozen food storage temperatures can be increased. The results suggest that storing frozen food at -15°C, instead of the industry standard -18°C, can reduce freezer energy consumption by 10-11%, without any noticeable impact on the safety, texture, taste or nutritional value of a product.
