BETTER WORK-LIFE BALANCE ⚖ Dreaming of a better work-life balance?! Small changes can accumulate to a large difference. Here are our top 3 tips to feel less overhelmed by work and get the most out of you free time: 1. Prioritize your time Learn to distinguish between important and urgent tasks. Especially urgent tasks tend to dictate your day. Try to identify urgent tasks before they become urgent and either prepare for them in advance or delegate them 2. Say "NO" Probably it's not the first time you hear this recommendation. However, it's crucial in order to avoid overboarding work and time committments. And maybe the "no" can be reformulated to "As much as I would like to say yes to this request, I have to decline as this does not fit my schedule and I could not committ sufficient attention to it. 3. Plan & prepare Sit down once per week and plan for the upcoming week. Will all tasks have sufficient time or do you need to reschedule things or also postpone certain activities. This planing should not only concern your work but also your off-work time. If needed prepare for busy periods.

🔢 The FOUR DAY WEEK Sounds super attractive? Let's see what's behind: 📏 Standard 32-Hour Workweek: Four 8-hour days: This is the most straightforward model, where employees work four days a week for 8 hours each day, typically resulting in a 32-hour workweek. Employees have a three-day weekend, and there is no expectation to work extra hours on the working days. 🗜️ Compressed 40-Hour Workweek: Four 10-hour days: In this model, employees still work a total of 40 hours, but they do it over four days instead of five. This approach allows employees to enjoy a longer weekend without reducing their total work hours or salary. 🎯 Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE): Focus on output rather than hours: In a ROWE, the emphasis is on achieving specific results rather than on the number of hours worked. This can naturally lead to flexible schedules where employees might end up working four highly productive days instead of spreading their effort across five days. Having tried it out, here are our 3 most important resumes: - cancel unnecessary meetings and only invite people who really need to be in there, others might just get a quick note with the results. This measure can already cut working hours dramatically - generally speaking, creative work benefits from reduced working hours while adminstrative work is hard to fit in less hours - time-management is everything. Productivity can be the same in less hours when certain tools and rules are implemented to make better use of your time. How about you. Have you tried it out and what works for you?

Workation 👩💻🏔️ - that's how ChatGPT defines it 😉 A "workation" is a blend of "work" and "vacation," describing a type of working arrangement where professionals combine their work responsibilities with a vacation-like setting. This concept allows individuals to work remotely, often in a scenic or desirable location, while also enjoying some leisure activities typical of a vacation. The idea is to create a more enjoyable and balanced work environment by integrating elements of relaxation and travel into the regular work routine. Workations can enhance creativity, reduce burnout, and improve overall job satisfaction by providing a change of scenery and a more flexible schedule.

Own a house 🏡 or have a life 😲 As we observe the soaring house prices reaching unprecedented heights, it's becoming clear that homeownership is slipping out of reach for many. This economic reality is prompting a significant shift in how we prioritize our finances and what we value most in life. More and more people are finding that investing in a home is no longer feasible within their financial landscape. This realization is steering a reorientation towards what truly enhances our quality of life. Instead of being tied down by the burden of unattainable real estate goals, individuals are exploring new ways to enrich their lives. 🌴 Embracing Flexibility 🌴 The trend is now leaning towards investing in experiences rather than assets. Vacations, workations, and even reducing weekly workloads for more leisure time are becoming popular choices. This shift underscores a growing emphasis on achieving a better work-life balance, valuing time over material possessions. Let's discuss: 1. How are soaring housing costs affecting your financial and life decisions? 2. Are you considering alternative investments in your quality of life? 3. What changes have you made to balance work and personal enjoyment? As we navigate these changing tides, it's crucial to reassess our goals and adapt to a landscape where flexibility and well-being become our top priorities. #RealEstate #WorkLifeBalance #FinancialWellness #LifestyleChanges

HOW TO.... have a successful WORKATION? Short answer upfront: it's all about expectation management! Because workation can be interpreted very differently. For some it might mean rather a vacation with 1-2 laptop hours per day, for other a full working day with 8 or more working hours just in a new environment. Whatever you choose, here are some recommendations to make it a success: 💭 make up your own mind, what should your workation look like and which work/vacation ratio do you aim for 📢 communicate your availability within your company, e.g. notify your colleagues with a note in your signature 📅 if you are aiming to not work within certain working times put a blocker in your calender, you do not want to have a potentially free afternoon blocked with one (uneccesary) meeting 🔨 plan what kind of work you want to do during your workation. Usually it works better for creative work and work where you do not have a lot of meetings and calls ⏳ schedule your workation not within a peak period with a lot of deadlines but rather a period where you might be able to make use of some of the overtime hours.
