Let’s celebrate! 🎉 Our Summer Party is an event filled with appreciation, fun, and team spirit! We like to take this chance to come together, celebrate our hard work, and enjoy a relaxed or active day outdoors. We created a tournament with exciting sports challenges where colleagues can either showcase their skills or cheer each other on. Whether they’re competitive or just in it for the laughs, there was something for everyone! As part of the event, we also hosted our (from now on) annual awards ceremony to recognize outstanding contributions and celebrate the achievements that make our team so special. Training Time! 🕰️ End of summer is a good time for us to hold training sessions. This time, the focus was on our leaders - Heads, Managers and Store Managers. With internal training, we create a common understanding of management tasks and can train in person. This time, we focussed on team management. We discussed and prioritised tasks of a leader at Holzkern. We then did simulations in order to find good ad hoc solutions to complicated situations. Because we recruit almost all teamleads internally, these training sessions are indispensable. Especially at the beginning of a management career, tasks often seem easier than they actually are. Where would Holzkern be without our amazing employees? They are the reason for our success🏆 and we are thankful for each and every one of them! Today we introduce you to Lawrence. As a Customer Relations Assistant, he is part of our large customer support team. Every day he helps customers find the ideal gift or finds good solutions when a product needs to be exchanged. Lawrence is an absolute sports person. He proved this at the last team event, a boxing training session, among other things. But he is also an absolutely positive person who contributes to our unique working atmosphere with his optimistic aura. Bike to Work 🚲 The summer time is ideal for commuting by bike. Many of our employees enjoy their bike ride to work since the office is surrounded by Vienna’s beautiful flora. Our team is close to nature and mostly very active. Our brand also stands for consciousness towards time and environment. Is there a better way to be prudent with your time and environment than to use your commute to work as your daily workout? Some of us even meet up and keep each other company during the commute - the very competitive employees even race each other to the office. Let's have lunch! 🍲🥗 Anyone who needs to focus during their work needs a break now and then. For many Holzkern colleagues, the most important break of the day is lunch. As our office building does not have a canteen, the lunch situation was not satisfactory to many colleagues. We are therefore pleased to have found a great solution for our big team at the headquarter! The Schrankerl offers the ideal solution: take a break at any time, fresh and healthy lunches with a great selection are available all day. These can be taken and paid for via app. Holzkern pays 20% of the meals for all employees. The launch was a great celebration: lots of full and happy employees who can relax during their lunch break and don't have to cook for themselves. For this we are proud to introduce them. Today we are proud to introduce Patrycja, our Distribution Specialist. Her main task is managing our deliveries, this includes sorting the orders, batching them for our dispatchers and packing some of them herself. What she enjoys the most about her job is providing structure to the large number of orders coming in every day. 📦 Patrycja is, although very organised in her professional life, an artist at heart. In her free time she enjoys drawing and painting canvases. Maybe you will find her new artwork at your next exhibition visit. 🖌️🎨

Summer time is vacation time 🏖️☀️ This time of the year is when most people take their well deserved vacation days and travel to destinations that are far away from the workplace. Relaxing vacation time shall be well prepared. Planning your days off ahead of time and communicating ongoing tasks to the team enables our employees to actually enjoy their time by the beach, pool, mountain or bus stop in Lisbon. This is the only way employees can really switch off and recharge their batteries. 🔋 We know that a good work-life balance is essential for well-being and productivity. This is how we do ✨ONBOARDING✨ At Holzkern we like to make our employees feel welcome every day - but especially on their first day. Starting a new job can be daunting, however, we like to welcome our new team members into a stress free and structured onboarding time at Holzkern. Our onboarding starts before your first day at Holzkern, you will receive information on how to get to us and on what you can expect on your first day. In order to make you feel comfortable from day one we will show you around our headquarters and introduce you to our different departments and team members. You will get a brief history on where Holzkern started, our vision for the future and our company culture that we take pride in. We always have a welcome lunch for our new team members with their team leader and onboarding-buddy. From then on you will receive an excellent onboarding programme over 6 months with training, integration meetings with the People & Culture department. Furthermore you will be having team events to strengthen the bond between you and your team. Our goal is to ensure your perfect start at Holzkern! She coordinates the daily business in our quality management, this includes personnel planning, inventory management and the implementation of projects for quality improvements. The task she enjoys the most is coordinating and organizing the day-to-day operations. Traveling is her passion, and her favorite vacation spot is definitely by the beach. Cyprus and Greece hold a special place in her heart. She says “The stunning beaches, delicious food, and welcoming hospitality make them my preferred travel destinations.
