Embark on a journey to the Borealis Innovation Center in Sweden! ⚡ 🔌 Our site in Stenungsund, Sweden isn’t just home to plastics production facilities, it’s also a place where groundbreaking innovation is happening, so let’s take a closer look. At the Innovation Center in Stenungsund, a dedicated team of researchers, laboratory technicians and engineers, drives the development of our advanced solutions for the energy industry. Their research primarily focuses on high-pressure polyethylene (HPPE), an ultra-pure plastic material used extensively in energy applications. The #Borlink™ technology, which focuses on high-performance materials for advanced technologies such as extra high voltage (EHV) and high voltage direct current (HVDC) power cables, plays a key role in their work. Why does purity matter? The main materials used for cable insulation must be super clean to minimize energy loss during transmission over long distances. In Stenungsund, we develop these ultra-pure materials together with our customers and on-site colleagues in business and managerial roles, covering the value chain from compounding and cable extrusion to cable testing. Rigorous testing ensures material safety and quality assurance and this is where our high-voltage testing laboratory comes into play. The facility doesn’t just look impressive, but truly serves as an industry-leading, state-of-the-art test center. It runs simulations of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) scenarios across medium, high and extra high voltage ranges to ensure our cable products perform flawlessly under real-world conditions. Curious to find out more? Visit the Borealis Innovation Center Stenungsund webpage ➡ https://lnkd.in/dRJM5_Z8 Stay tuned for the final part of our Borealis Innovation Center series, where we will take a look inside the Borealis Innovation Center in Porvoo, Finland! #KeepDiscovering

On the UN International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, we're reminded of the staggering impact of food waste. In the EU alone, over 58 million metric tons of food are discarded every year - along with the valuable resources like water and energy used to produce it. At Borealis, we’re partnering with industry leaders to combat this challenge by developing packaging solutions that keep food fresher for longer, while also minimizing environmental impact. In the spirit of EverMinds™, we're working to reduce food waste and protect our planet’s vital resources. Over the summer, we piloted a unique Escape Room experience at our Borealis Innovation Headquarters in Linz, bringing our Purpose, Strategy & Values to life and closer to our people. In this Escape Room, participants raced against time to “save the world” by solving riddles related to the Borealis Strategy. Created with no budget and powered entirely by the creativity and resourcefulness of our Borealis talents, the Escape Room was a huge success. We cannot wait to roll it out at other Borealis locations worldwide! Congratulations to all participants, and a big shout-out to Stefan Bischof, Katharina Glawischnig, Eszter Lukács, Krzysztof Nowak, Florian Tüchler, and Roland Wallmannsberger for developing the Escape Room as part of their Talent Pool program assignment. Watch some impressions! #KeepDiscovering #MakeItReal
