In the 6th episode of the #digitaldeal podcast, we talk to Martyna Marciniak and Jussi Parikka about the aesthetics of non-fact and the operational role of synthetic images, like the infamous #BalenciagaPope. Martyna is an artist-in-residence with Ars Electronica as part of the #creativeeurope project #eudigitaldeal. Chapter 1 – AI Hyperrealism of her residency project Anatomy of Non-fact deconstructs the #BalenciagaPope image. The work was exhibited at this year's Ars Electronica Festival. Show what you care about - with the “Pillars of Democracy” at the Parliament in Vienna! The playful interactive installation invites everyone to engage with the meaning of democracy and to take a stand: on diversity, trust, participation, compromise, help, solidarity, respect and tolerance. The Ars Electronica Futurelab created “Pillars of Democracy” for the Austrian Parliamentary Administration (Parlamentsdirektion) as part of their awareness campaign #MehralseinKreuzerl (More than a checkmark) for the National Council elections on September 29, 2024. Here, people of all ages can record a shadow video on one of the topics, to be shared via social media and presented larger than life on LED panels on the parliament building. In this way, “Pillars of Democracy” encourages discussion and citizen participation throughout the nation, and Parliament is once more the people's house, with the message: We participate, we care, we vote! All information about the project on the Ars Electronica Futurelab website: https://lnkd.in/gsf_uQ2P
