Hi, I'm the game programmer.
Currently our idea is to sell the game with a price, so we can not put a version to the public through the browser ... because in case of creating this version that you suggest me, no one would buy the game 🤣.
I take this opportunity to tell you that initially these are the platforms to which we aspire to launch the game:
- Windows: This version will be sure to launch.
- GNU/Linux: It is quite likely that it will also be at launch. Tests give positive results even on older computers.
- Mac: We have to perform tests before deciding whether to release it for this platform, unfortunately none of the team has a Mac 🙃.
- Android: I have personally done some testing and it seems to give positive results. I'm not sure if it will be out of the box, due to additional tweaks to the interface, but it's quite likely that an Android version will exist at some point. Through a downloadable .apk file, of course.
I hope my answer helped you, likewise the demo of the game will continue in its browser version so the demo can be tried by everyone. 😊

Unfortunately we don't plan to make the game for free, we are 2 people working on this game (artist and developer). Our intention in the future is that the game gets enough sales so that we can live and release more visual novels of this style or better of different characters...
If we have enough economic support we could dedicate 100% exclusively to the development of this kind of games. We appreciate your understanding and thank you very much for the support 😉.

gave up on it about 3 seconds in because the text was so ridiculously slow, and changing the speed in settings didn't seem to do anything
I am very sorry that your experience is not satisfactory, but the speed of the text can be modulated in options and in any case you can click manually to make the text go faster.
I've had the same problem, the speed options in neither the downloaded nor browser version seem to work. The example text in the menu does change speed but the actual dialogue does not.
While clicking does speed it up somewhat, having to click mutiple times if a piece of text contains more than 1 sentence is rather annoying. Especially since you have to wait for the character movements to finish first before you can click to show text.
The game seems nice, so I hope it gets fixed.

Question, when you pay for the game, do you pay only for the specific version or do you pay for the game itself and if another version appears, do they give it to me as an update?
This game is still in development, but let me give you a brief overview of the current planned roadmap:
1- Subscribers of the "RokumaruArt" Patreon will enjoy early access to the game, allowing them to play segments of it before the official launch, as they become available, in addition to the regular Patreon content featuring exclusive illustrations.
2- Once the entire game is finished, it will be released on itch.io at its full price.
3- Starting from that point onward, game updates (including bug fixes, text corrections, etc.) will be implemented in the itch.io version.
