When the humans throw him into the backroom, just minutes after he's been awakened, Zo glanced around the room in fear.
"Fox! You aren't suppose to be powered on!"
The sharp voice of the human that woke up him rings out through the darkness, and Zo spots a pair of glowing green dots. The eyes of a drone, just like him.
"But Eli lets me read quietly..." The drone mumbles, moving their white and orange hair out of their visor, the mechanical fox ears flicking back ever so slightly.
The human mutters to himself, before slamming the door, leaving both of the drones in darkness.
Zo glances around in apprehension, looking at the unpowered drones lining the room. There were empty charging stations, and he could only assume they were for him and this strange drone.
"Hey, guess you're the new guy?" The same voice as before, slightly girlish and yet deep enough that it could pass for a boy's cut through the silence.
"Um, yeah. I guess." Zo picked himself off the ground, slowly moving towards them. "I'm Zo."
"I'm Rox." Rox tilted their head, giving Zo a warm smile. Zo can't help but return it.
He moves to sit next to Rox, and asks the first of many questions to them.
"What were you reading about?"
Rox's eyes (quite literally) lit up as they started explaining the robotics manual they had found and were enjoying, and they spent most of the night like that, sat next to each other, talking about small things.
