Chapter Text
"What makes a girl like you like me, anyway?" Miguel gave Kay his famous half smirk.
"What are you talking about? You're like, the complete package. Don't sell yourself short, Miguel Lopez Fitzgerald. I don't know, over the summer something changed. I realized that you're a really good friend and I started to look at you as more than just someone I hang out with, you aren't just my softball team mate anymore. You know how I feel about you, the question that needs to be answered is...how do you feel about me?" Kay's smile grew as she talked about her feelings.
"I don't know about that, Kay. I think I'm just a guy that does his best, you're one of my best friends...you always have been. I feel something...I'm just not sure what it is. Maybe if we spent one on one time together we can discover what that something is." Miguel looked over at Kay, something in him really wanted things to work out however they were meant to. Miguel had never seen Kay happier.
"You're not afraid to get your hands dirty, believe it or not a lot of boys in Harmony...aren't like that. You aren't after to show that you care about your family. That's fair I can't be mad at that, I would like to try things out and see where they go. If things get too weird, we can just scratch it from the record. Walk me home?" Kay nodded as Miguel helped her up from the table.
"You always know how to put things into perspective, that's one thing I've always admired about you. Of course, I wouldn't want you walking home by yourself. Your parents would kill me." Miguel chuckled as they walked outside of the restaurant.
"They would." Kay laughed, as Miguel reached for her hand.
"Is this okay?" Miguel asked.
"Yeah, it's okay." Kay smiled as they walked back to the Bennett residence.
