All I want for Christmas

Summary:

Everyone loves her, the sweetheart of the office. Sweet, gentle and kind Misteln. She has everyone charmed with that bright smile of hers, those soft eyes and that cute chuckle she does every once in a while.

It is almost like she has everyone under some sort of spell.

A spell Kira swears she would never fall for.

But one morning, Shigure Kira wakes up after a drunk, hazy night to find herself in bed with none other than- that's right, the detestable Misteln Schariac! Confused and embarrassed, the blue-haired woman doesn't realise yet that this was but just the start of something new and wonderful with her annoying but irresistible coworker.

Notes:

You know I thought my first ever mistkira fic and the fic that brought me out of a writing slump was written in december of last year, but turns out it was written in november so, uh, im kinda late on the anniversary of that one but hey at least this one is right on time for Christmas!

Happy reading <333

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Misteln. Always so sweet and perfect. The epitome of an amiable coworker. Who doesn’t love her in the entire office? No- perhaps even the entire world! She has everyone charmed with that bright smile of hers, those soft eyes and that cute chuckle she does every once in a while.

Well, Kira thinks it's all detestable! A ruse! She can’t bear to look at the other woman in the same room as her without feeling a migraine coming up. And no- Kira is not the weird one for baselessly disliking Misteln! It’s the rest of the world which is weird for thinking the white-haired woman to be some sort of angel descended from heavens!

That’s right. No matter what may come, Kira would never, ever, fall for the spell Misteln has put the entire office under.

*****

Except on that dinner night a week before Christmas apparently.

When Kira woke up the next morning, naked and head splitting apart with a hangover, she already knew she had made a series of very bad decisions the previous night.

Bleary-eyed and exhausted, Kira tried to sit up, only to find that she was not all alone in the bed.

She froze. A thousand thoughts racing through her mind. She tried to remember what had happened the night before, starting off with a memory of her arriving at Theresa’s dinner party, greeting Cecilia- and then noticing- oh no

Even if Kira wanted to, there was no going back now. Vague memories floated around in her head. Getting drunk, hearing a certain familiar but unbearable voice, her smile- that smile. Kira did not know what had happened but she remembered one thing crystal clear- the warmth of that woman’s lips against hers.

No…no that couldn’t be. Was this a bad dream? A hallucination? Did Kira wake up to go to that party at all?

Amidst Kira’s existential crisis and disbelief of the situation she was in, she suddenly heard the blankets next to her shift. Kira dared to glance to her side, hoping against hope that it was not who her memories were telling her it was.

Lo and behold. Misteln Schariac. Fast asleep next to her, also naked…..and judging by the hickeys on her neck and collarbone….looks like the previous night had ended on quite the interesting note. The realisation of which had Kira’s head reeling from, well, everything.

First thing’s first. Quite obviously this wasn’t her house, or a house at all- it was a hotel room. She had to leave, quick. Before Misteln woke up, because frankly at this point she simply did not think she’d be able to look the younger woman in the eye. Kira got off the bed and quickly grabbed all her clothes strewn across the floor- good lord how impatient had they both been last night??

No no! That was definitely not something she could even entertain to recall at the moment. Hurriedly, Kira dressed herself up as presentably as she could, stumbling on her way to the door as she put on her socks. She grabbed her handbag and coat off the rack and rushed to open the door. Right before she stepped out, however, Kira paused, a little hesitant. What she was doing….was really quite heartless no? Having a night of passion with her coworker and then deserting her without a word the next morning?

Not at all! Her inner voice told her. This is Misteln we are talking about!! You hate Misteln! Moreover, this is how one-night stands go. A night of passion and heated embraces- then the next morning you both walk it off like nothing, isn’t that right?

Right.

Ignoring the growing weight in her heart, Kira pushed down all feelings of guilt and stepped outside, letting the door shut behind her without sparing a glance back.

Kira hurried down the hallway, towards the elevator, ignoring the burning embarrassment creeping up onto her. How? Just how in the world had she even allowed herself to be in a situation like this??? Ahhh just the thought made her want to dig a hole and bury herself into it!

That’s okay. Both of them were grown women. Mature women. A-and they had needs- and made an arrangement in the heat of the moment and drunkenness. So it was okay. When they see eachother again on Monday, the two of them could go back to normal- pretend this night never happened. Isn’t that right?

Kira shivered in the cold. As expected on a December morning, even the sun’s rays weren’t enough to melt the piling snow.

The blue-haired woman waved down a taxi, telling her address to the driver and immediately seating herself inside. She sighed, massaging her pounding head. Her eyes felt heavy and her body hurt. As soon as she got home, she was going to soak herself in a long, hot bath.

Back in the hotel room, Misteln Schariac had woken up right around the same time Kira had. But she hadn’t made it obvious, pretending to still be fast asleep until the blue-haired woman had dressed herself up and left the room without a single word.

When she did finally find the energy to sit up and stretch her body, Misteln noticed a familiar blue scarf left sprawled on the armchair nearby.

She smiled. Now now….wouldn’t it be quite rude to not return something that belongs to your colleague?

*****

It was Monday morning. Kira had spent the entire weekend trying to convince herself it was no big deal and that she should just treat it all casual.

And so when she steps in, nerves sizzling under her skin and a dreadful premonition, the first to greet her is Theresa, thankfully, who notices the eyebags on her face all too easily,

“Everything alright, Kira? You look tired.”

Kira gives her a shaky smile and a weak thumbs up, “Busy weekend.” Except it wasn’t. She spent the entire weekend pacing around and stressing out while the nights went away in sleepless worry.

Theresa frowned, “Take it easy once in a while. Is the work too much? I can assign you a partner. Oh, I know. Misteln-”

“No!” Kira says, a little too fast and a little too loud, “I-I mean, I’m good! I don’t need a partner.” Especially not her.

Theresa hums, “Well if you say so. But do take care of yourself, yes?”

Kira nods as she heads towards her work desk, sighing and massaging her temple. What a week, and it was only Monday.

The day goes off surprisingly uneventful. Kira does her work and clocks out right on time at six. Misteln is nowhere to be seen. Has she taken the day off?

Not that Kira cared. She was just glad she didn’t have to have an awkward showdown with her work nemesis slash one night stand slash whatever else that was going on.

Kira bids her juniors goodbye, tells Theresa she’s off and steps into the elevator, a nagging feeling in the back of her mind.

Why hadn’t Misteln showed up today? Was she not well? Or did she just want to take a day off for vacation? Or perhaps she felt just as awkward about that night as Kira and couldn’t bear to face her? Come to think of it…Kira didn’t even know how they had ended up like that. Who made the first move? Misteln? It seemed likely, given how friendly and forward the woman was all the time. Perhaps alcohol made her even bolder than usual. And Kira? Why did she let it happen? Did she want it? Deep down….

Kira immediately shook off that train of thought, telling herself she was overthinking and being ridiculous and that now was definitely not the time to be thinking that. Exactly, bygones are bygones….she need not think too deeply about it all.

Kira goes to sleep peacefully that night. And dreams.

She dreams of a laughter that sounds like tinkling bells, feels the tickle of soft white hair against her neck, she dreams of a pair of shining lavender eyes, glowing with mirth and amusement, she dreams of those same eyes softening and lighting up, and she dreams of a soft body against hers, she feels her breath mingle with another’s, soft lips locking against hers, Kira dreams of a night so beautiful and satisfying that when she wakes up, the wonderful memories are all but gone, but the feeling remains.

Kira does not know what she dreamt of, but she knows that it has made her mood significantly better for the day.

And so this time, she steps into the office with a glowing face and an energetic smile. Theresa is happy to see her look much better than the day before and gives her an approving nod, which Kira returns with a smile. Kira doubts anything could sour her mood for the day now.

And of course, right when she is thinking that, Misteln walks in, and Kira’s mood immediately goes through several shifts before settling on annoyance. She decides she will avoid her for the rest of the day just to keep her sanity if nothing else.

But it seemed like Misteln wasn’t so eager to do the same. The younger woman walks in, with the poise and grace of someone completely unfazed by the same incident that had Kira tearing her hair out for two days, into Kira’s cubicle, soft smile and gentle gaze and everything.

Kira decides to pretend to be unfazed, because she really isn’t, and at the moment, she can only pretend she isn’t, “What is it?” She asks.

Misteln chuckles, and the sound is so weird. It isn’t unusual, Kira had always found it annoying, but at the moment, it feels weird, because it is the same soft chuckle Kira had heard from her several times before in the office, but right now….it didn’t….seem as irritable as usual. Maybe Kira was learning to tolerate Misteln’s presence little by little.

“Miss Theresa was telling me you have been looking more tired than usual lately, so I just wanted to check in. If there is any work I could help with-”

“No need.” Kira says without looking up from the screen of her laptop, “I’m doing well, tell Theresa that. You can help someone else who needs it more.” She wonders if she sounds a little bit too harsh, but then she decides that it is necessary.

Misteln doesn’t leave. Kira waits. Until impatience gets the better of her, “Anything else?”

“You look brighter than usual today, Miss Kira.”

Kira’s fingers pause in the midst of typing, she doesn’t look up, and resumes typing, “If there is nothing else, you should get back to your work, Misteln.”

“Come now,” Misteln laughs, and takes a step closer to Kira, who wishes she hadn’t, because her presence is so very distracting when this close, “I thought we had gotten close, Miss Kira. Especially after the other night-”

“Misteln.” Kira says, tone rigid, “Whatever happened on that night should remain on that night. I’d appreciate it if you continued to keep things professional between us.”

Misteln doesn’t reply. For quite some time, Kira wonders if she has left. She looks up, out of curiosity, and no, she hasn’t left, she is still standing there, looking at Kira.

She isn’t smiling at Kira anymore.

And it is quite the blow to Kira, the older woman doesn’t know why. Misteln isn’t smiling at her, but she has a strange expression, almost as if….Kira’s words…affected her…in a negative way. Kira suddenly feels a little bit of guilt creep into her heart. She opens her mouth, to say something , but Misteln is already smiling again, laughing as she replies, “Of course. I had expected nothing less. I do want to say you left behind something of yours though. Ah, but I forgot to bring it today….silly me.”

I had expected nothing less.

That throwaway sentence shouldn’t sting as much as it does. It makes sense. It is as it should be. And yet.

“Misteln-” Kira begins but Misteln interrupts her again, “Don’t worry. I’ll have it delivered to your address by the end of this week! And don’t worry, nothing between us will have to change,” She smiles, but it is so unlike her usual smile, lacking in the usual glow and mirth. It reflects a little bit of sadness.

“I will see you later then.” Misteln says, and is already out of Kira’s cubicle before the latter can say or do anything in response.

Only when Misteln is gone does Kira realise she had been holding down on the keys on her laptop longer than she should have.

The rest of the day is as ordinary as could be. Kira doesn’t see Misteln again, and for the first time, she wonders if that was a good thing. She doesn’t see Misteln but the woman remains on her mind, branded into her thoughts. The guilt doesn’t subside either.

Misteln’s face remains etched in her memories. That subtle sadness and acceptance. What was it? Kira behaved with her as she usually would, so what was it that Kira said that had Misteln looking so…..so…..Kira didn’t know how to articulate her thoughts regarding the expression she saw on Misteln’s face today.

Kira clicks her tongue, annoyed. Would she ever be free from the torment of the woman known as Misteln Schariac haunting her thoughts morning, noon and night?

Kira goes home and gets drunk.

She doesn’t know what time she falls asleep. But she was sure it was late because when her alarm rings and she wakes up with stinging eyes and a heavy head the next morning, she knows she is in for a long, long day.

*****

It is a weird week. Not once does Misteln stop by her cubicle to greet her with her nauseatingly sweet smiles or address her at some point during office hours to simply waste her time with nonsensical short talks. Given, Kira had wished just for this several times since Misteln joined their office….this still felt way more peculiar than she had expected.

It wasn’t that Misteln was treating her coldly or differently though. If their gazes accidentally met when they were in the same room, the white-haired woman always made sure to smile, but Kira knew it wasn’t the same smile as before, not reaching her eyes and gone a second sooner than it usually would.

Kira feels it in the air when she is close to Misteln. A tension, stretching taut. And perhaps, Misteln felt it too, and that’s why she had actively begun avoiding Kira. And stopped bothering her during work hours like before.

Kira is grateful, of course she is. No more distractions or annoying laughter haunting her cubicle. She is happy with this arrangement, and if she isn’t then she will tell herself she is until she is sure she is.

The end of the week approaches sooner than expected. Christmas is around the corner. Decorations hang in every nook and cranny of houses and streets. The air is abuzz with festive excitement and everyone is excited to go back home for the holidays. Twinkling lights and Christmas trees everywhere. Accompanied by the aroma of freshly baked bread and the warmth of families reuniting and friends wishing each other.

“Do you have any plans?” Theresa asks Kira while she is leaving.

“For Christmas?” Kira asks, surprised. She never did. Theresa knew that, right? This year was no different. She’ll stay in her home until all the celebrations are done, perhaps sleeping in and binge-watching shows while ordering takeouts.

“Yes,” Theresa smiles, “If you don’t. Then, my family and I are planning on taking a trip to a Winter resort. We will celebrate both Christmas and New year there. I was wondering if you would like to come along? Other family friends will be there too. And I am sure Cecilia would love for you to come along as well!”

“Oh!” Kira was flattered, incredibly so. The Kaslanas and Schariacs have really always been too nice to her. And now they were even inviting her out for a family vacation. Oh but wait…if the whole family is there then….

“Is,” Kira hesitated, “Is Misteln coming along as well?”

“Hm? Of course, she is family as well, isn’t she?” Theresa laughed, and truth be told, Kira’s question was a little bit ridiculous. Of course Misteln would be there, she was Cecilia’s little sister. Why wouldn’t she be?

Kira cleared her throat, hoping her embarrassment didn’t show, “Haha of course. How odd, it’ll be like we haven’t left the office at all. With you, me and Misteln in one place.” She joked.

Theresa laughed again, “Well that’ll really be weird. But at least, it’ll be like a send off week for Misteln. A week of celebration with family and friends.”

“Yeah, I guess so- wait what,” Kira looked at Theresa, “What do you mean send off week?”

Theresa looked at her with a confused expression, “Why, I mean her transfer of course.”

Kira froze, “Her what.”

Theresa blinked, “Misteln applied for a transfer on Wednesday? You didn’t know? I thought everyone in the office did.”

“A…transfer?”

“Mhm. I was telling her it might be too soon, but you know her, she said it was just the right time. In any case, I hope she will be happy wherever she goes.”

“Did she….” Kira felt too cold all of a sudden. Her heart was twisting within itself, “Did she specify a reason?”

“Hm?” Theresa stopped to think for a moment, “Well, I didn’t pry, but I think she just wanted a change.”

“I…I see.” Kira’s grip around the handle of her bag tightened. She felt a little weak all of a sudden but willed herself to not stumble in front of her boss, “O-on Wednesday, you say?”

“Yes, on Wednesday.”

That conversation happened on Tuesday.

Kira had a dreadful realisation, if it could be considered one at all.

Theresa, who had been watching Kira’s face grow paler all this while, was worried, “Kira, are you okay-”

“Theresa.” Kira said suddenly, “I need a favour.”

*****

It was snowing.

Misteln thought it was always a pretty sight. Snow during Christmas time. The cold nights and the warmth of celebrations and reunions. She chuckled at the thought of returning home for Christmas, of seeing her nieces and her sister. She had already bought the presents for them, she was excited to imagine how happy they would be when they opened it.

Misteln shivered as she stepped into the elevator, wondering if she should have put on one more layer of warm clothing after all. Perhaps a scarf?

The elevator doors open with a ding. Misteln steps out and walks down the dimly lit hallway towards her apartment. Her smile had disappeared and her mind was occupied with something else now.

She did promise Kira that she would return her scarf back to her. And she really had meant to. But…..

It was a little bit painful. To remember the scarf, to remember Kira. To remember her words. Misteln had always thought herself to not be a sentimental person. Rational-headed and logical. But inevitably, one’s heart was such a traitor in matters like this.

Perhaps it was foolish of her, to expect anything in the first place. Really…..what was she thinking? A woman like Shigure Kira? Reciprocating her feelings? How…..ridiculous.

She should have simply been grateful for that one night and left it at that.

Misteln sighed, hoping Cecilia wouldn’t notice her broken heart during the family vacation. Her sister always had an eye out for a person’s hidden feelings. Although Misteln did try to hide these ones best from Cecilia, because she knew. How much Kira treasured her friendship with Cecilia, and she had always been afraid to sully that bond due to her own selfishness.

And so, this was the best course of action. Going far far away from Kira, from these feelings. Maybe she can start anew in a fresh environment.

Misteln’s thoughts were cut short when she was but a few steps away from her apartment door, reaching inside her bag for the key, wondering what she should cook for dinner when a series of hurried footsteps behind her distracted her.

Surprised, Misteln turned around, wondering who could be in such a hurry at this time of the evening when a sight of familiar blue hair entered her vision, momentarily rendering her immobile.

The person stopped in front of her, panting, clutching her knees for support. Had she….run all the way till here?

“K-Kira?” Misteln choked out, still unable to believe her eyes.

“Misteln….” Kira said, in between her pants, “I- we need to talk.”

Misteln was finally pulled out of her reverie, she shook her head, the shock on her face replaced with her usual smile, “Anything in particular, Miss Kira?”

“You….” Kira was still struggling to catch her breath. She straightened up, looking straight at Misteln as she spoke, “You are leaving?”

Misteln blinked, “Leaving where?”

Kira stepped closer, reaching out to grab Misteln’s arm, partially to support her heaving frame and partially to have a proper grounded conversation with her, “Theresa told me you asked for a transfer.”

Now that statement made Misteln’s smile falter and her face to morph into shock again. This time she didn’t smile again, averting her eyes as she spoke, “I thought a change of scene would be nice.” She murmured, hoping Kira doesn’t push further.

But Kira was Kira, of course she would, “Why?” She asked, finally able to speak properly now as she let go of Misteln and stood up properly opposite to her.

Misteln laughed, low and a little bit sad, “Well, Miss Kira, it really isn’t anything deep. Don’t worry about it. I am sure I wouldn’t be all that much missed-”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Kira cut in, a little angry, “What do you mean you wouldn't be missed?! Everyone at the office loves you! Why would you leave so abruptly!?”

Misteln was quite surprised by Kira’s outburst. She blinked at her as she spoke, “I- well, I have my reasons and….” Misteln paused, sighing, she chanced a careful glance at Kira before continuing, in a lower voice, “Besides, not everyone .”

“What?”

Misteln took a step back, turning away from Kira, “It isn’t true. Not everyone loves me,” She murmured, “In any case…..my absence wouldn’t make much of a difference, Miss Kira.”

Kira didn’t reply. Misteln pushed the key into the keyhole, trying to assess whatever in the world her current situation was. Why was Kira here?

“That’s not true…” She heard Kira say and Misteln resisted the urge to laugh at how ridiculous it sounded. She didn’t want to make Kira anymore unhappy than she already was.

“Since you are here, you should stay for dinner.” Misteln suggested as the door to her apartment opened with a click.

“Is it…..because of me?” Kira asked and Misteln froze. Suddenly, for the first time, she felt a little afraid.

“Kira…” Misteln said, in a voice more serious than ever, she turned around, about to ask her to drop the matter when Kira spoke first,

“Misteln, I am sorry.” She said, her voice extremely sincere, but Misteln wasn’t here for apologies, “You have nothing to be sorry for-”

“No,” Kira said, stepping closer, Misteln was sure her heart was beating way faster than it should as Kira spoke, “I know how I was. Too rude and too harsh to you. I- you know back then I’d justify it with one stupid reason or the other, b-but it was really unfair of me, being so petty and childish. I-I really am sorry.” She said, words rushing out one after the other as her face pulled into an expression unlike anything Misteln had seen on her. Guilt and sorrow mixed in with sincerity. It made Misteln feel a whole new set of emotions for the woman before her.

“I-” Misteln looked away, unable to hold Kira’s gaze, clearing her throat and ignoring the heat on her cheeks as she replied, “It-it’s okay, Miss Kira. I-I never really took it to heart-”

“Then why are you leaving?” Kira asked, voice carrying a hint of pain which Misteln was sure she only imagined. Kira wouldn’t- Kira didn’t-

“Kira….” Misteln breathed out, overwhelmed by their proximity, she stepped back, trying to open the door to her apartment without looking back, which wasn’t a very wise move from her, given her feet hit the threshold and she stumbled backwards.

Misteln was sure she would fall back, but unexpectedly, a pair of hands on her her either arm steadied her and when she looked up, just in time to catch the intensity of Kira’s gaze on her face, Misteln couldn’t bring herself to utter a word, and Kira took the chance to pull her closer, their faces so close they could have been breathing the same air.

“Don’t leave.” Kira said, in a moment of boldness, with a rush of courage she herself didn’t know she had it in her. Within her mind, somewhere deep within, her voice of rationality was screaming at her, asking her what in the world was she doing. Why was she doing this? Why was she begging the woman that was the bane of her existence to not leave? Why was she holding her so tightly and so closely, afraid that if she looked away or let go for a mere moment, she would slip away from her hold, gone forever. Leaving Kira with nothing but regret and heartbreak.

Heartbreak?

Misteln was looking at her, eyes wide and lips trembling.

“Kira….” She choked out, and an expression so pained Kira hated herself for being the cause of it.

“Don’t do this…” Misteln muttered, voice strained, “...please….”

Kira opened and closed her mouth, her throat closing up, words failing her and heart racing with a rush of emotions. This feeling….how close they were. Mere inches between them. Misteln was pleading with her. And yet….she was looking at her, she hadn’t looked away yet. Her eyes were on Kira, lavender eyes softened in pain, guilt, plea and….something more. Something that had always been there….something it had taken so long for Kira to notice.

Kira bit her lower lip, a whirlwind of thoughts in her head and her breath stuttering as she tried to speak again, “I- you know…I- this might be very stupid of me…” Her voice broke, “A-and I know I have no right…b-but….I don’t think I’ll be able to take it- if you leave…..I-I just didn’t realise it- I’m sorry I-I-”

She didn’t have to complete her sentence, Misteln grabbed her face and pulled her in, kissing her on her mouth, impatient and hot, hands grabbing her neck as she pulled her closer. And Kira? Kira didn’t know if she had expected this, but what she did know was that she didn’t mind this. And that she wanted this, and that maybe she had wanted this for way longer than she had dared admit. She wrapped her hands around Misteln, deepening their kiss, pushing her backwards. Tongues intertwining and hands grabbing each other’s clothes, the two women stumbled into Misteln’s apartment, Kira’s not letting go of Misteln for a moment even as she closed the door behind her and removed the coat she was wearing, letting it drop to the floor while she held Misteln and kissed her again, against the wall, only letting go when she was sure they both needed a moment to breathe.

Misteln’s face was flushed, a beautiful red spread across her face, lips swollen and eyes twinkling. A wonderful sight Kira had never seen on her. And a sight she was sure she was in love with. She moved in to kiss her again but Misteln stopped her,

“I…” She breathed out, “Kira, i-if this is like the other night….” Misteln said, apprehensive, “Then I can’t-”

Kira kissed her, soft, promising. A gentle gesture. She pulled back to look at Misteln properly, “It’s not.” She said, “I promise. This time I won’t run away.”

Misteln smiled, a shaky smile, a smile so genuine Kira wished she’d smile like that more often. How lovely it was. That genuine smile on Misteln’s face.

Kira smiled too, sparing a chuckle as well in the moment, “I’m gonna kiss you again.” She declared.

Misteln laughed, pulling Kira close, “Are you sure you are not drunk?”

“Positive.” Kira replied in a whisper before reaching forward and kissing Misteln again, and again, passionate and hurriedly, nipping on her lower lip, the soft gasp spilling out of Misteln’s mouth driving her impatience even more. Kira barely remembered when they made it to the bedroom in the heat and restlessness of their bodies pressed against each other's, each piece of their outfit coming off one by one and by the time Kira pressed Misteln down onto the soft mattress, both the women were only wearing their lingerie.

Kira dipped down to kiss Misteln on the side of her neck, fingers playing around with the string holding Misteln's panties together, “Is this okay?” She whispered next to her ear, one hand squeezing Misteln's hips while the other slowly pulled down the fabric of her panties.

“You can be so cruel sometimes, Kira,” Misteln said while clutching Kira's arm, “Asking me such a thing while we are on my bed in our underwear.”

“Just making sure,” Kira murmured against her skin before bringing her other hand away from Misteln's hips to her chest, squeezing her breast as she kissed her throat. Misteln moaned, wrapping her legs around Kira's waist. Kira chuckled, fingers impatiently discarding the rest of Misteln's undergarments, the latter doing the same with Kira's lingerie as well.

Soon, there was nothing restricting the touch of the two women's bare bodies against each other, heat and desire mixing up in their moans and touches. Misteln groaned as she felt Kira’s tongue run along her neck down to her chest, licking and kissing her breasts, and when she felt Kira’s teeth graze against her nipple, she couldn't hold back the moan spilling out of her mouth. Kira really liked that. Misteln's sweet voice making such lewd sounds under her touch.

She took one of Misteln’s breasts into her mouth, sucking and licking, while her hand was squeezing and pleasuring the other one. Misteln was trembling, pent up with all the blissful feelings racking her body. She grabbed Kira's hair, moans growing louder as her hips began grinding against Kira's body

Kira didn’t stop, pressing her body close and relishing in the taste and feel of Misteln, loving the sound of her name being uttered like a chant in Misteln's mouth, body wriggling and jerking with each bite and squeeze of her skin. Kira pulled away from sucking on Misteln’s breast, for just a second, to bite down on her nipple, while pinching Misteln’s other nipple with her fingers, watching as Misteln shut her eyes and cried out in pleasure, squeezing her legs around Kira tighter, arching her back as she came.

Kira pulled on her nipple one more time and let go, panting as she waited for Misteln to recover her senses again. Her eyes took in the sight of Misteln's body properly, her upper torso completely covered in hickeys while her nipples had turned a bright pink under the abuse from Kira’s teeth and fingers.

Kira leaned down, kissing Misteln on her stomach, lips travelling downward, hands holding her waist down as she kissed her abdomen and then her crotch, hearing Misteln gasp and let out a stuttering breath under her touch again.

“Kira….” She called out, and Kira spared a glance at her, the sight of her red face, half-closed eyes and saliva covered mouth sending a shot of arousal through Kira all over again. She felt the heat between her legs tighten in anticipation. Swallowing, Kira spoke, “Hold on….”

She then got up, reaching forward to hover over Misteln, blue hair falling down to frame Misteln’s face, panting as she said, “Feeling okay?”

Misteln laughed, reaching up to hold Kira’s face and pull her close, “I'm feeling ecstatic,” She whispered, “We are not done yet, are we, Kira?”

Kira swallowed, feeling a drop of sweat run down the back of her neck, “Of course not,” She replied with a smile, backing away to lift one of Misteln’s legs and place it on her shoulder, positioning her cunt right on top of Misteln’s.

Misteln half sat up on the bed, clutching her bedsheets as she watched with an aroused gaze, breaths growing fast and hot as Kira began rubbing herself against her.

Misteln held on tight to the fabric underneath her, throwing her head back as she felt Kira’s body move against hers, stimulation and heat building and building. She could hear Kira’s moans as well above her, and when she looked at her, panting and keening as she hit the pinnacle of her body's stimulation, she found Kira staring back at her too, face flushed and eyes narrowed in an intensity that sent Misteln completely over the edge, making her come with a loud cry of Kira’s name.

Kira leaned forward, reaching forward to grab Misteln’s fist clutching the bed sheets as she cried and had a release of her own while looking down at Misteln.

The two women continued to stay connected as they worked their orgasms, slowing down once the high of their pleasures began subsiding gradually.

Kira was still breathing heavily as she carefully lifted Misteln’s leg off her shoulder and placed it down, leaning down to kiss Misteln on her mouth, the latter welcoming it by wrapping her hands around Kira and pulling her down to lie on the bed with her.

When they pulled back, Misteln just wordlessly smiled at Kira, who blushed, the weight of her actions dawning on her now, “I, uh, sorry if I wasn't, you know….”

“You were perfect.” Misteln told her, brushing her hand against Kira's face, who held onto Misteln’s hand and closed her eyes as she pressed it against her cheek,

“Don’t leave, Misteln,” Kira said and then opened her eyes, looking right at Misteln as she continued, “Please. I will do anything.”

Misteln breathed out, eyes downcast, and no reply from her mouth. And for a moment, Kira fears the worst, she thinks her sincerity isn't enough, and maybe she should start pleading, and she is ready to, she really is,

“Misteln-” She begins but Misteln interrupts her,

“Anything?” She asks and Kira, suddenly very desperate, nods immediately.

Misteln smiles, soft and sincere and Kira's heart jumps at the realisation of how much she loves it. Misteln’s smile.

“Then, how about a date?” Misteln says with a laugh, “We missed so many steps in the relationship. I'm sad I didn't even get to go on a date with you yet.”

The worst of Kira’s fears subside, she smiles and replies, “We can go on as many dates as you like. How about tomorrow for our first one?”

Misteln laughs, and oh , had it always been this beautiful of a sound?

“That’s great! Where do you want to go, Miss Kira?”

“Just Kira,” Kira said, now hugging Misteln's hand close to her chest, “And. I want you to choose. It's the least I can let you do-”

“Shhh.” Misteln said, “None of that now. Let us consider this as a new start.”

Kira blinked, and then smiled, “Okay.”

“So where do you want to go?”

“Ice skating.”

“Ice skating?”

“Mhm. It's one of my favourite hobbies. What do you think?”

Misteln chuckled, moving closer and pressing her forehead against Kira's,

“Sounds like a wonderful idea.”

Notes:

If u happened to come across weird spellings or unusual keysmashes, I just want to apologise on behalf of my dog who seemed all too eager on pulling on my sleeves while I was typing down this fic.

In any case, MistKira still remain one of my favorite ships ever overall <333 I am glad I was able to put out this fic for them as I've always wanted to write them in a more normal and mundane setting without the threat of the world's end looming over their heads XD.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!!!
