Cardcaptor Sakura x Onimai: Sakura and The Gyaru Babysitter

Summary:

Sometime back my good friend, Tamae FTT, once again inspired a story out of me with their wonderful expressive art and I couldn't help but take that spark to a fully realized short tale. Though I don't frequent the idea of crossover stories too often this one just felt right. Sakura Kinomoto is still having on again off again bouts of being treated like a little girl from the Baby Card's residual effects even after sealed up and the magical girl finds her father has arranged a babysitter to look after her for the night, a caretaker more flashy and doting than she's ever seen around her sleepy hometown.

Day’s light pulled back, giving way politely to the coming night as dusk began to settle over the little town of Tomoeda. The air was mild as the autumn evening came on and street lights began to come alive one at a time, their light winking into view as Sakura Kinomoto traveled swiftly up the sidewalk towards her home. The girl’s white pleated school uniform skirt fluttered as she rolled quickly along, carried by her set of inline skates, her short, neck length chestnut brown hair whipped back from her speedy movement. It wasn’t quite dark yet, but it was getting close and the young girl was never one to make her father worry if she could help it. Making a stop with her best friend Tomoyo had kept her out later than she meant to be, but she had made it back just before the sun decided to rest, tired from all the time spent out during the now past hot summer days.

Upon entering her home Sakura quickly sat down in the entryway, removing her skates and safety gear as she called out. “I’m home!”

“Oh good, you’re back, Sakura-san.” The girl’s father let out a little sigh of relief as he approached from the hall. Fujitaka Kinomoto was dressed still in the suit and more formal attire he wore for his job as a professor at the local university despite the time of day. The man’s short brown hair was a shade darker than his daughter’s and combed neatly as always, his youthful face hiding his age behind his ever present set of small square glasses. He gave his watch a quick glance before setting down a note on the little stand in the entryway.

“Yep. I made it home before dark.” Sakura smiled with pride as she looked up at him, the skates now neatly set aside.

“Good job, Sakura-san.” He gave his daughter a small smile in kind and a pat on the head before returning to a rush of preparation.

        “Are you going somewhere, Dad?”

“I’m afraid so. My research assistants and I have work to do at the university and I have to head back there. I’ll be out very late, possibly overnight.” Fujitaka explained as he checked the contents of his bag once more. “Touya is out on a school trip, so I hired a babysitter to look after you while I’m out.”

“A babysitter?!” Sakura’s cheeks pinkened as she repeated the word. Even just the word caused a wave of indignant embarrassment to flood over her as her mind immediately came up with words of protest. She could see that her father’s frenzied focus was on getting ready, so much so that maybe he didn’t notice the frown and puffy cheeks that took over her face as she fought down the urge to loudly object.

Fujitaka of course noticed the shift in his daughter’s mood right away, setting aside his bag and everything else to give the girl his full attention. “Is everything ok, Sakura-san?”

“I don’t need a babysitter…” Sakura grumbled under her breath. Her arms were folded now as she looked away from him and at the entryway floor. “I can take care of myself…”

“You’re probably right.” The man smiled wide as he kneeled down, bringing himself to eye level with his child. “But it sure would make me feel better knowing you had someone with you while your brother and I are out.”

Sakura’s expression softened and she turned her gaze back towards him.

“I just want to be sure my one of a kind Treasure is safe and sound.” Fujitaka said softly.

A sigh escaped from Sakura, the fuss in her chased away so very quickly. She knew how hard he worked. She admired that so much in her dad even on these times it saw her being by herself. Even if she still wasn’t at all happy about the idea, Sakura’s sour mood couldn’t withstand her father’s warmth. Her frown faded and was replaced by a meek smile she made herself take on.

“Ok, Dad. I’ll be good for my babysitter.” Sakura vowed, whispering the last word before giving him a quick hug.

Fujitaka returned the affection, his wide palm patting the girl’s back gently. “Thank you, Sakura-san.”

They stayed like that for a time. Sakura almost thought of offering to go with him and help, but the memory of her pursuit of the Sleep Card in her father’s university office swayed her idea away. The mess that chase had left, and the guilt she still felt for ruining his work even after getting her first spanking at her own insistence was still fresh in her mind. She quickly set the notion aside with a sigh and broke off the embrace.

Fujitaka stood back up. “Your sitter will be here any minute now, but I’ve got to get going. Will you be ok while you wait for her?”

Sakura offered a nod, making herself wear a cheerful expression for him. “I’ll be fine.”

        “Alright. I’ll be going then.”

“Bye bye.” Sakura chirped as she watched her father head out the door. As the door shut the happy aura she had put on for him dropped suddenly. “A babysitter.” Sakura groaned low, letting her arms hang limp with resignation.

“Is the coast all clear?” A voice uttered from her school bag as Keroberos poked his small round head out.

“Yeah, it is.” Sakura slumped to sit on the entryway, a pout returning to her face.

Keroberos pushed his way out of the bag, his little white wings fluttering him into the air beside the girl’s head. “Why so glum Sakura?”

“I don’t need a babysitter to take care of me, Kero-chan.” Her cheeks pinkened anew at the thought. “I haven’t had one in a long time. I’m not a little kid anymore.” The girl pulled her knees up and rested her face in her folded arms. Truthfully, Sakura had almost always had someone to look after her on the many busy evenings her father was out. Her older brother or a family friend of some variety would always be about, so it wasn’t as though Sakura really had the independence she perceived. But it had been some time since she had one that she didn’t know, that her dad announced to her. Well, aside from the time spent under the Baby Card’s magic, Sakura would be quick to insist that time didn’t count. For all her happy and outgoing nature, the girl could still be a bit nervous with new people.

“You just barely reached the double digits, kid. It makes a lot of sense.” Kero nodded his head. “Besides, you have to keep in mind that the Baby Card’s effects still flare up from time to time around you. That’s just to be expected since you took more than a week to seal it up, you’re lucky the effects weren’t fully permanent. Your dad calling you a babysitter is pretty plain compared to the times the magic has really come back up.”

Red color deepened on Sakura’s face as the little guardian beast kept on.

“I remember the last time it happened..” A wide grin filled his toy-like face. “Why our big grown up Mistress of the Cards was transformed into a total little Daddy’s Girl. Snugly diapered and having her dinner fed to her in a high chair.”

“Kero-chan!” She shouted before burying her hot, scarlet colored face in her cupped hands. The not so distant memory flashed in her mind. That day after school Tomoyo began suddenly treating her a bit differently. The other girl had insisted on holding her hand and walking with her the whole way back to Sakura’s home even though it was quite out of the way. Tomoyo went so far as to walk Sakura to her own front door and hand the girl off to her father directly. It quickly became clear that it was an instance of Baby Card’s leftover influence. Sakura’s father took her gently in hand and the girl was dressed and treated like toddlerhood had come again for her in no time, despite her mild protests and attempts to point out to her father that she wasn’t so little. Her cheeks burned as she recalled; both with embarrassment and perhaps a secret fondness as well.

Even without that incident Sakura went to bed in diapers most nights now out of worry that those lingering effects would have made many soaked sheets without protection; a secret only Kero and Tomoyo knew about.

“Is she going to see me like that too?” Sakura revealed her blushing face, staring hard at the front door.

Ding dong. The doorbell rang out.

“Welp, that’s my cue.” Kero fluttered away from the young girl. “You be good for your babysitter, Sakura.”

“Kero-chan!” Sakura vaulted to her feet to watch the little beast fly off upstairs.

Ding dong . The sound came again.

“C-coming!” Sakura took a breath and forced away her pout, determined not to be rude. A few steps and she was at the door, twisting the knob and pulling it back.

An older teenage girl stood just beyond the entry marked right away by the bright colors of her clothes and her hair. She wore a high school uniform, but not one that Sakura was familiar with that consisted of a pink long sleeve shirt whose hems hung freely when it was likely supposed to have been tucked into her thigh length skirt that was no doubt worn short, offering a teasing view of her tanned and toned thighs. A bright pink bow fell loose over her very ample bosom, one that would compete or fully outdo the adult woman that Sakura knew. More than anything though, Sakura found her eyes drawn to the teenage girl’s vibrant pink eyes and matching tinted hair that was shot through with splashes of cerulean blue, tied off to her left side by a golden yellow scrunchie. The waves of rosy locks were brighter than the summer sun and made the young woman seem to radiate as clear as day in the failing evening light.

“Um, hello?” Sakura greeted in hesitation. She had never seen anyone like her. Once or twice she had seen a person that looked similar on the cover of a fashion magazine perhaps. A gyaru girl? She towered a good foot or more above her looked as though she had stepped right off of one of those vibrant covers, standing out brighter and more vibrantly in real life than anything on a newstand.

“Hello there. You must be Sakura-chan, am I right?”

Sakura nodded her head sheepishly as she clung to the door.

The older girl bent down to be closer to Sakura’s height. Her lips curled into a dazzling smile. A summer’s sun lighting up the autumn evening. “My name is Kaede Hozuki and I’ll be taking care of you. You can call me Onee-chan if you want.”

Sakura nodded shyly. The older girl’s smile encouraged one of her own to start, however unsure and reserved, unable to resist the vibrant babysitter’s colorful aura and cheer. A scent of fresh flowers teased at the young girl’s nose as Kaede entered the home properly now with a confident step and shut the front door behind her.

“Here. I can show you to the living room, Hozuki-san.” Sakura offered as she led the way into her home. “You can put down your bags there.” As apprehensive as she was about this flashy older girl and indignant about the idea of having a babysitter, Sakura was still determined to behave. Her father had asked her to and she wouldn’t let him down.

The pair entered into the humble living room. A long turquoise L-shaped couch occupied much of the space, positioned in front of a tall sliding glass door with forest green curtains drawn against the now dimming evening light. In the corner away from the sofa a humble sized TV sat atop a stand beside another table where a music player waited.

“Here we are.” Sakura offered, making herself smile and establish eye contact with the new older girl.

“You’re so adorable, Sakura-chan. And I’ve got just the thing to make you even cuter.” Kaede reached into one of the two bags hanging from her shoulders.

Sakura followed the older girl’s movements, her eyes now fixed on the pair of bags that she hadn’t given any notice prior. One looked normal enough, but the other was a light pink color, rounded with little floral prints across its nylon covered surface. Sakura had seen such a bag before of course. Tomoyo had kept a similar carrier handy and though it was kept tucked away in a corner of his closet, she knew her father had one stocked up as well. A diaper bag. Her face flushed with the connection as she turned her gaze away rather than anxiously watch the older girl rummage about.

“Here we go.” Kaede announced brightly, pulling her hand from the bag.

A resigned sigh let out as Sakura turned back towards her sitter. Yet she didn’t see the infantile items she expected. “Huh? What’s this?” The girl questioned seeing a small glass cylinder filled with pink held out.

“If it’s a girl’s night we obviously have to paint your nails. This color would be very cute on you.” Kaede’s expression was as inviting as the first day of spring as she spoke. “Come on, Sakura-chan.” The gyaru girl’s free hand was offered out.

A shy smile pursed on Sakura’s face. Though her gaze was drawn to what she was convinced was a diaper bag hanging from the older girl’s shoulder, she forced herself to look away from the slung satchel and into Kaede’s welcoming pink eyes. There was a warmth in those irises that felt irresistible. A promise of care, comfort, and trust that bordered on being a whole new form of magic the Cardcaptor never encountered until now.

“Ok.” Sakura gave her sitter her hand and was led off to the nearby living room.

It was only a short time later, barely more than an hour’s time, but to Sakura it felt much longer. The girl’s feet hung from the couch, bobbing in a contented rhythm as her green eyes took in the TV program with a passive focus. She sat between Kaede’s own legs that were spread wide to envelope around her. The tension from first meeting the bright stand out young woman had faded almost entirely now and if not for the gentle and regular strokes of a hairbrush running through her short chestnut hair, Sakura would have leaned back into her sitter, all too glad to lay against Kaede’s welcoming embrace.

Sakura held her hands before her, taking in the sight of the fresh coat of pink nail polish that dotted each fingertip brightly. As she admired Kaede’s handiwork her smile was no longer the pensive expression it had been. Worry melted away and was drawn to the bright summer day of the gyaru girl.

Being held so closely, cared for in such a tender way really did make Sakura feel younger than she was even without the Baby Card’s magic. Maybe Kaede truly was magical too? Perhaps not like she was as Mistress of the Cards or like others like Syaoran, but enchanted all the same. Maybe there was a charm to the mixture of flowers the older girl smelled like? Her touch could have had some sort of mystic quality? The gentle way Kaede had taken Sakura’s hands or those slow and steady hairbrush strokes or the sense of safety felt in the presence of Kaede’s free left hand pressed ever so slightly against her stomach to hold her. Certainly the way Kaede made her feel was spellbinding. The magic of a caring big sister figure.

“Well, Sakura-chan,” Kaede’s voice chimed suddenly. “It’s getting later, why don't we get you dressed for bed now so we can play longer?”

Sakura’s thoughts had drifted while getting so much attention. She hadn’t even noticed that the show on the television had played out and its credits were now going by on the rounded display. No light pressed against the drawn living room curtains any longer, the day had already made its way to slumber now. Kaede’s guidance saw her reluctantly from the spot between the gyaru girl’s tall legs on the couch to stand on the carpeted floor below as she watched her sitter rise to her feet as well.

Kaede petted the top of the girl’s brown haired head. “Come on, Chestnut.” The words were spoken in soft cadence as took her charge’s hand gently in her own.

Sakura thought to object, even if the most she could have managed would have been a meek one, feeling fully disarmed by Kaede’s sudden pet name for her and the sitter’s general caretaking aura. The older girl’s grip was one of the softest silk, but Sakura found herself unwilling to put up resistance to it. A pink hue spread on her face as she watched her sitter take up the two set aside bags she brought. This was far from the first time the magical girl was in such a situation. The Baby Card’s spontaneous magic and widespread enchantment that came and went now at times without warning made it an embarrassing, but familiar event.

With Kaede in the lead, the two climbed the stairs.

“Which room is yours?” Kaede asked.

“T-that one.” Sakura pointed sheepishly to the half-open door on the left side at the top of the staircase, her eyes transfixed now on what was surely a diaper bag. Its pastel patterns, and rounded bulk were all too telling. Her focus stayed locked on that bag as they quietly moved the handful of steps into her room. Only the quiet closing of the door behind them snapped the girl as she found her hand no longer held and her movement guided. Her eyes scanned the room for Kero and she spotted the toy-like guardian beast taking up his usual act as a stuffed animal when someone was around beside the TV stand and game console that mostly went to use in his tiny hands. Their eyes made contact for a moment. Sakura began to feel distressed about having a witness for what she was sure would be a humiliating experience before the quiet noise of buttons unclasping sounded off and she felt her pleated white school uniform skirt fall from her waist to the carpeted floor.

“Weh!” Sakura yelped in surprise as she lost the covering of her skirt without a word of warning given.

"Your papa told me you need help getting dressed at night so let's get you diapered." Kaede’s voice hummed as she knelt beside the girl, guiding her charge to step out of the discarded skirt, collecting it and folding it neatly to set aside.

“But! I don’t really need to wear those! I only have accidents sometimes…” Sakura meekly protested her face pinkening as she stood in with her underwear exposed. She knew full well she went to bed in diapers often as a precaution to Baby’s inconsistent curse. Most of the time though she could at least put on the embarrassing infantile garment herself or, somewhat more humiliating, with Tomoyo’s help, instead of having the mortifying task done by this young woman who was still fresh in her life.

“Arms up, Sakura-chan.” Kaede spoke softly.

Sakura’s objection did nothing to slow her sitter as she felt her arms guided to reach for the ceiling and her school uniform top pulled upwards and over her head, leaving her now in just her light white undershirt and panties.

“There we go. It’ll be easier to get you first into your nighttime underwear, then your jammies with your uniform out of the way.” Kaede nodded with a smile, setting aside the top with care.

Standing now in just her underwear, Sakura couldn’t help but wrap her arms about herself and let out her usual whine. “Weh!” Her face grew warm and took a shade of pink as Kaede put a hand to her back and moved her towards her bed. She was embarrassed in general, but more so at the thought of being babied by this new older girl.

“Don’t fret, Chestnut. It’s just us girls here.” Kaede giggled as she moved her charge from the center of the room.

Sakura found herself laid on her back atop the blanket topped bed before she could think to say or do anything to push back against her babysitter’s gentle, but firm direction.

“Let’s get these off too.” Kaede said softly as her hands took firm hold of the girl’s panties and pulled them down and off with a decisive tug.

“W-wait!” Her babysitter moved with such sureness that Sakura only barely formed an objection by the time her body slipped slightly upwards in the older girl’s guidance and her underwear slid off her legs entirely leaving her embarrassed and exposed. Still, the warmth found in the gyaru girl’s smile helped put her somewhat at ease despite being nearly naked as her eyes followed Kaede reaching into one of her bags and pulling out a bottle of baby powder and a pink disposable diaper covered all over with bright prints of pastel rainbows. Butterflies fluttered in the girl’s stomach as she looked away, the pink that had blossomed on her face spreading out.

“Doesn’t this look just darling?” The gyaru girl asked with sunny summer cheer, holding out the still folded padding out for her charge to see its patterns more clearly. “You’ll be just as cute as a button with this on.” Kaede cooed softly in a motherly tone as she began to unfold and work the diaper out of its stiff rectangle shape. “Yes you will, oh yes you will.”

        Crinkle, rustle, rustle.

A quiet set of noises from the edge of the bed where her legs lay dangling, drew Sakura’s attention reflexively back and set her feet into an anxious wiggle as she waited and listened to the babytalk directed her way. Though the girl was mortified to admit it, she was plenty familiar with the noises a disposable diaper made as it was getting unfolded by now.

“H-Hozuki-san? I…Eh?!” Sakura began meekly, but found herself hoisted upwards, her ankles cupped gently in the older girl’s hand. Sakura’s face flushed scarlet as the subtle sound of the diaper sliding into place underneath her reached her red tipped ears.

“Upsy daisy for the blushing diaper girl.” Kaede cooed, taking her charge up with care. By now she was quite versed with diapering bigger girls. Her younger sister, Momiji was a regular in the same position Sakura was in now. She had even padded up her baby sister and all her friends back to back not so long ago at a sleepover. The song and dance was so often the same. Frets about having to wear diapers, protests and pleas to get out of having to do so, and oaths of being good or not needing the protection. Though all these little one’s behavior was familiar by now, Kaede could admit to herself it was an adorable ritual she never grew tired of as a big sister.

“I’m not a diaper girl…” Sakura let out a quiet objection. “Please, Hozuki-san…”

Kaede’s smile widened as she felt Sakura’s ankles wiggle anxiously in her grip as she leaned the girl’s frame back and finished adjusting the colorful diaper into place. “Maybe not yet, but give Onee-chan just a few minutes and you will be.”

Of course she heard the girl start up the usual sorts of attempts she had heard from other girls in her care to talk their way out of their treatment. As cute as it was of course, it was better to establish that she was a babysitter who was gentle, but followed the rules to a tee. Sakura needed diapers at night, so they were going on, no ifs ands or buts. With the diaper ready and waiting Kaede took up the bottle of baby powder, unscrewed the cap, and let out a happy sigh from the pleasant aroma.

“Lots of magic powder for you, Chestnut.” Kaede hummed, gingerly flicking her wrist to shake out puffs of the sweet snowy dust onto the girl’s bare backside. “Doesn’t that smell nice?”

“Weh!” Sakura couldn’t help but squeal as she covered her bright red face. She wiggled her body this way and that, unable to help herself in her embarrassment, as the baby powder tickled her with its gentle touch and filled Sakura’s room with the scent of a nursery.

“Hold still, Sakura-chan.” Kaede’s eyes narrowed with contentment as she coated the girl’s pale backside with a white layer of powder.

“Mou…” The girl whimpered, her feet wiggling wildly.

This was always the most difficult part. The outbursts of Kaede’s little ones, their wiggle worm behavior and squirming hips as they got baby powdered. And she couldn’t help but find Sakura’s fretful little display just precious. The whole world waited patiently for them to be done as Kaede returned the girl to an infantile innocence under a wispy white cloud. With the girl’s bottom dusted, Kaede lowered her charge to lay down again, the girl’s bottom resting on the waiting diaper. “We need plenty of powder here too of course.” Kaede giggled as she shook out another generous cloud onto the rest of the area the girl’s diaper would soon cover.

        Fhew, fhew, fhew.

Those barely heard sounds of baby powder puffs and the hums of her babysitter filled Sakura’s ears as her hands felt the warmth of her face. Kaede was under Baby Card’s influence like anyone else, but it didn’t reduce the embarrassment of being diapered by this older girl only shortly after meeting her. Sakura lifted her head and let her fingers part as she looked down her chest to watch as the front of the diaper was pulled over her and the sides worked into place.

“A tape here,” Kaede spoke in her soft motherly tone. “And then the other side too. Nice and snug for my cute little Chestnut.” She continued as her hands fastened each of the tabs on the diaper, leaving it secure in a firm hug around the young girl. “There. All done.”

Sakura took her hands away from her face and looked away with a stiff pout and rosy cheeks. She didn’t need the announcement, the familiar bulk once again around her hips was more than enough to let her know she was back in diapers. Again. Sakura folded her arms loosely over her stomach as her legs wiggled as if to shimmy out of the padding’s secure embrace but her efforts only produced a set of crisp crinkles from the fresh diaper. She didn’t want to cause trouble for the older girl. She knew it wasn’t Kaede’s fault, it was the magic, but Sakura still felt mortified. Another night forced back to babyhood.

“Aww. No need to frown, Sakura-chan. I know it’s no fun, but my baby sister still has to wear diapers at night too. I bet she’s giving Mihari trouble right now even.” Kaede took a seat beside Sakura laid turned away on the bed. “Momiji fusses and fights sometimes. She’s not as much of a good girl as you are about getting diapered. Sometimes she kicks and squirms a lot. You’ve been so well behaved, Chestnut. I’m proud of you for being so good for me.”

A shy smile began to curl on Sakura’s face in spite of herself. Slowly she turned herself back to face the older brightly dressed girl.

“Is your sister my age?” Sakura asked quietly.

Kaede reached into the other bag she brought along and produced her phone. With a few taps she had pulled up a picture on the display and held it before Sakura’s face. The image was of another young girl, slightly older looking than Sakura clad in a pure white diaper who was looking away and absently sipping on a juice box. “She’s older actually. I tend to take care of her a lot while our parents are away, like doing most of the cooking.”

Crinkles sounded off from the diaper around her hips as Sakura sat up. “I know how to cook.” The infant dressed girl sheepishly declared.

“You cook all by yourself?” Kaede asked as she helped the girl to her feet and gave the diaper a quick check to be sure it was fitting well. “That's great, you're so grown up.” She remarked, giving the girl’s padded behind a couple of pats.

Sakura’s shy smile widened as her fresh blush spread, the mix of praise and the bottom pats making her feel silly and little.

“How about we make dinner together then, Chestnut?” Kaede offered as she pulled a big green wad of clothes from the bag.

Sakura nodded her approval, happy to apparently not be seen as a total baby before the stylish young woman. “That sounds like fun.”

“Glad to hear it. But first, let’s get you into some jammies. It’s not proper for a little lady to be going around in her underwear after all.” Kaede giggled.

Sakura’s face went crimson, reminded that she was just in her undershirt and a rainbow printed diaper looking so much like the part of a dependent toddler.

“Here. Let me help you, sweetie.” Kaede said, taking charge of seeing the girl in her care into the deep green onesie. “One of my baby sister’s little friends wore this at their little sleepover and I just had to get one for my kiddos.”

“H-hey! I can dress myself and I have my own pjs…” Despite her little objection, Sakura followed the older girl’s guidance, slipping her arms and legs into the holes and moving as directed.

“I’m sure you do, Sakura-chan, but it’s cold at night and this should make you nice and warm while being cute as can be to boot.” Kaede smiled broadly as she zipped the wooly one piece up and pulled the attached hood over the girl’s head. “There. Snug as a bug in a rug. Go take a look.” She suggested, giving the girl’s bulky bottom a pat to encourage her towards the mirror across the room.

With a crinkly waddle, Sakura made her way to the reflective glass, getting a look at the clothes she had been dressed in. Long green sleeves reached to her wrists and pant legs to her ankles, a light yellow patch covering her chest. Hanging from behind the onesie was a long tail with little felt scales down its length and the hood was dotted with bright yellow eyes completing the dinosaur themed onesie.

Sakura couldn’t help but giggle at her image in the glass. "She wants me to wear weird outfits just like Tomoyo…" She sighed with a smile, seemingly none too displeased with her sitter’s choice of pajamas after all. In her imagination she thought of Kero wearing a tiny hood to match her own, trying to look fierce in his toy-like form as he floated beside her.

The girl held up her hands like paws. “Rawr!” Sakura bellowed out with a wide beaming grin at the infantile dressed girl in the reflection.

Kaede giggled and held up her phone, the camera at the ready. “Can you roar this way, Sakura-chan?”

The diapered magical girl pivoted about, her smile bright as a cloudless day. “Rawr!” Sakura repeated before giggling at her own silliness.

A series of button presses saved the moments in time forever on Kaede’s phone, both the great roar of the smiling girl and her gleeful laughter. Satisfied, Kaede slipped the device back into her pocket. “Do you still want to cook dinner together, Sakura-chan? Or would you rather just have some playtime? You’re a little girl. It’s alright if you want to play instead.”

Sakura smiled bashfully, more tempted by the offer for playtime than she thought. She gave a long look over to the arrangement of stuffed toys across from her bed before going to her bedroom door with a light rustle in her step, the pj’s tail dragging behind her. “I want to help. Come on, Onee-chan.”

Kaede rose up and offered her hand. “Lead the way, Little Crinklesaur.”
