Work Text:
It all started during one of their calligraphy lessons. Xie Lian sat a little to the right of his husband and watched closely as Hua Cheng tried to write the characters. After finishing another line, Hua Cheng put his brush aside, turned slightly towards Xie Lian, and let out a dramatic sigh.
"Gege, why don’t we call it a day? I miss you dearly."
"Call it a day? San Lang, you’ve only just started, the incense stick hasn't even burned halfway! Besides, we’ve hardly left each other's sides all morning, and I’m sitting right next to you now. What do you mean you miss me?"
"Every minute I’m not in Your Highness’s arms feels like an eternity to me," Hua Cheng replied solemnly.
"But won’t it restrict your movements if I hold you? It certainly wouldn't favour your calligraphy."
"Nonsense. Being in Your Highness’s embrace could never be an inconvenience. On the contrary, it would give me more motivation and patience to finish the whole page."
Xie Lian could hear a hint of mischief in his husband’s voice, but decided to play along. He, too, wanted to spend as much time as possible with his San Lang today before they had to part for a while in the morning. He still felt a twinge of unease when they had to be apart, even for a few hours.
"Alright then." Without warning, Xie Lian quickly pulled his husband onto his lap and wrapped his arms around Hua Cheng's waist. Resting his head on the ghost’s shoulder, he asked, "Well, San Lang, is this better?"
"Yes, Gege, much better. Thank you." Hua Cheng raised his god's hand to his lips and kissed it gently. "I can already feel a surge of energy," he said, a smile in his voice.
After finishing another line, Hua Cheng put down his brush again, placed his hands over Xie Lian’s, which were still resting on his waist, and leaned back into the warmth of his beloved’s embrace.
"Gege, what do you think?" he asked, hoping for praise.
Instead, he heard a slightly flustered, "San Lang!"
"Gege, what’s wrong?"
As Hua Cheng tried to turn to face Xie Lian, he shifted his hips slightly. When he felt the unmistakable firmness pressing against his lower back, he quickly realised what was “wrong.” In his (not so humble) opinion, however, everything was perfectly right.
"It seems I’m not the only one feeling energized, Gege," Hua Cheng purred, his voice immediately taking on a teasing tone.
"San Lang!!! Sit still!"
The next shift in Hua Cheng's hips was entirely intentional. "Gege, how can I sit still when my beloved is so tense? Allow me to help you."
"San Lang, stop it! I’m fine! You haven’t even finished half of your exercises! I knew nothing productive would come out of today’s lesson!" Xie Lian’s cheeks flushed a vivid red. It was only recently that they had begun to experiment with switching roles in bed, and even the most innocent activities often brought back thrilling new sensations, to which his body responded all too eagerly.
In response, Hua Cheng pressed even closer. Tilting his head back, he whispered, "Why not, Your Highness? I have an idea that can both help you and allow me to continue with the calligraphy. May I?"
"Fine," Xie Lian exhaled heavily, unable to resist any longer. "But only if you promise to finish this practice sheet." Although he was one of the most powerful Martial Gods, he was exceptionally weak when it came to his beloved’s requests - especially when he asked so sweetly.
"Thank you," Hua Cheng murmured, planting a soft kiss on Xie Lian’s neck. "I’ll be right back."
True to his word, he returned quickly. Completely naked.
Xie Lian inhaled sharply at the sight before him. "San Lang…"
Even though he had grown much more confident when it came to intimacy, Xie Lian still found himself breathless at his husband’s impossible beauty and allure every single time.
Hua Cheng approached slowly, settling between Xie Lian’s legs. Eyes a little hazy, he leaned down and pulled Xie Lian’s erection out of his pants, slowly running his tongue along the length and sucking it all the way to the base in one motion, enjoying the soft moan that escaped his god's lips.
"San Lang!!!" Xie Lian’s breathing became ragged. "You promised!!"
"I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself," Hua Cheng pulled back, lowering his gaze apologetically. "But Your Highness is right; I did promise. Don’t worry, I’ve already prepared myself."
With that, he turned around and, without hesitation, guided Xie Lian’s length into himself, sinking down fully.
This left them both panting for a good while, trying to adjust to the new sensations and grasping for strength not to come on the spot. Xie Lian seemed to be the first one to come back to his senses.
"So, how do you plan to proceed from here, San Lang?" he thrust forward a little and lightly bit the shell of Hua Cheng’s ear to get back at him for earlier.
"From here," Hua Cheng panted, "I plan to finish the lines I have to finish, just as I promised. Pray Gege is merciful and doesn’t tease me too much."
Xie Lian thrust forward without much force again.
"Why should I be merciful when this was your idea in the first place, hm?"
"Because otherwise I’ll come all over the practice sheets," Hua Cheng said plainly.
"Hmm, I guess we can’t have that. I don’t want to ruin the evidence of San Lang’s progress in calligraphy," Xie Lian said thoughtfully, kissing his husband’s neck.
"Gege, this isn’t helping!"
"San Lang," he thrust again, "if you think it’s easy for me to sit this with you in my lap, stretched around me, then you’re very much mistaken. Don’t you already know how much I love the feeling of being inside you?"
"Your Highness!" Hua Cheng panted heavily. It was clear that he was struggling to hold himself together.
"Pick up the brush, my love, the faster you finish your practice, the faster we can get to do…" he trailed off, "other things."
Pressing sloppy kisses all over his ghost’s shoulders, Xie Lian whispered, "You're doing so great."
With a whimper, Hua Cheng picked up the brush and mustered the strength to write. Each new line he wrote was rewarded with a thrust, slow and tender kisses on his neck, ears, and shoulders, and extreme amounts of praise. This made each new line less and less legible. Though the thrusts were shallow, combined with everything else, they brought just as much pleasure as the soul-shattering ones he knew his god was capable of. He dared not move anything other than his hands, knowing that at this point even the slightest hint of more contact would send him over the edge.
Hua Cheng growled as he finished the last character of the last line, which at this point looked less like a character and more like a scribble, but neither of them seemed tocare at this point. As he put down the brush, he realised that his god, whose hands were now roaming all over his body, was indeed merciful, because if those clever hands had done more than just hold him tightly around the waist while he wrote, he definitely wouldn't have lasted this long.
"San Lang, you did so well," Xie Lian’s hands found their way to Hua Cheng’s nipples, setting his skin ablaze. "I love you so much, you feel so good. Now that you’ve finished the practice sheet, you get to finish here, too."
With a proper thrust, Xie Lian nibbled at his lover’s ear and whispered, "San Lang, can you come for me?"
And that was all it took for Hua Cheng's remaining threads of self-control to snap and unravel completely in an instant. Xie Lian held him close through it, cradling him against his chest and murmuring sweet nothings into his ear.
When Hua Cheng came back from the height of his pleasure, he slightly turned his head slightly towards his husband and purred with a pleased smile, "Gege was amazing, as always.
He placed a soft kiss on the corner of Xie Lian’s lips. "Can we stay like this for a little bit longer before we continue? I love to feel His Highness inside me like this."
"Of course we can, San Lang," Xie Lian intertwined their fingers. "We have the whole night ahead, after all," Xie Lian said softly, rolling his hips just a little.
They didn’t get much sleep that night, but it really wasn’t a problem for either of them. In fact, they both knew there would definitely be more calligraphy practices like this one.
