Chapter Text

The first time Kaiser saw Yoichi, he had been with Ness. Apparently the Japanese football administration had created a football program, blah blah blah yada yada yada, and now a team consisting of highschoolers were playing against Japan’s U20 team.

To Kaiser, this was completely irrelevant, and he had all intentions to just ignore it, that was until Ness mentioned Sae had been playing.

That caught his attention.

Sae was playing? For Japan?

Kaiser was shocked. As far as he knew, the red haired boy hated Japan and its team with all his guts, if his vocal complaints and slander were anything to go by.

Suddenly interested, the german looks to the screen in front of Ness, eyes catching on a boy with dark hair. The boy had just taken the final shot, getting the goal, and he saw the crowd explode in cheers.

“Who is that?”

Ness looks at him in confusion, perplexed by his sudden interest.

“Isagi Yo- something.”

Kaiser opened his phone to google and searched the name. What came up was news articles talking about something called ‘Blue Lock’, the football program I imagine. Pressing the link, he found that the boy’s name is Isagi Yoichi.

“Yoichi, huh?” He mutters to himself, not seeing the weird look Ness was giving him, his eyebrows furrowed showing his puzzlement.

This would begin his descent into extreme intrigue to near obsession with the Japanese boy.

Kaiser didn’t particularly think what he was doing was weird, sure others might think it’s creepy, but it’s not often that he finds himself genuinely interested in a person other than himself.

Maybe trying to find clips of Yoichi before Blue Lock was less than normal, but he had to see what he was working with. If Yoichi would be a good obstacle in his way, if he would ever be big enough to devour.

He found videos of him in middle school, seemingly posted by a person from the school he went to. Yoichi definitely had potential, and he couldn’t help but grin.

The smile soon fell when he found stuff from Yoichi’s high school. It was as if his spark was gone, he would pass to others, his fire was seemingly extinguished as if it was never there to begin with.

Compared to what he had seen during the U20 match, the plays were so strikingly different, as if played by a whole other person.

What the hell happened?

Continuing his look, he began to search for the High school and its team dynamics. He quickly got his answer. The team’s slogan was ‘One for all,’ a teamwork oriented  idea, one that would extinguish even the most egotistical of people if played long or enough.

Kaiser chose to ignore his anger towards the coach, instead sending his attention to the full U20 match.Content with seeing the improvement, he finally decided to push the Japanese boy to the back of his mind; focusing on his own practice and reviewing a practice match he had recently played.

Sitting boredly in the Bastard Munchen living area, Kaiser was less than pleased by the situation.

Noa had called a meeting, something he never did unless he had something to bitch about.

What does this bastard need to say that could possibly need all of us here for?

When the last of the players had made their way to the common room, the french man cleared his throat and pulled out a tablet.

Noa fiddled with the tablet for a bit, seemingly trying to pull up something. Kaiser wanted to laugh.

Don’t strain yourself, you old geezer.

Seemingly having pulled up what he wanted to get, he turned the screen to the players, showing an email.

With the players trying to process what they were looking at, Noa began to speak.

“I’m not sure any of you have been paying attention to matters outside of Germany, but in Japan there has been a program going on that has become quite popular these days.”

Kaiser could only stare. Is he talking about Blue Lock?

Suddenly interested, the German leans forward slightly, his hands on his knees.

Ness and Grim share a look having seen this abrupt change in manner but choose not to say anything, shifting their attention back to Noa.

Noa continues, “We’ve been invited by the creator of the program to join Blue Lock. I have yet to agree as I need all of your permission. Yes, we will be getting paid for being there, and it will be broadcasted all over the world.”

The Bastard players start to quietly discuss if they should join, while Kaiser sits on the sideline, lost in his own thoughts.

This would definitely speed up my plans to devour Yoichi…. And it would broadcast my skills to a much wider audience.

Having made up his mind, he loudly says, “I don’t know about you, but I think we should do it.” Not saying anything else, he goes back to sitting silently, the room quieting at his words.

Ness loyally agrees, “If Kaiser says we should do it, then so do I.”

The rest of the players follow suit, consenting to his words. Seeing this, Noa quickly writes up a response email, sending the letter of confirmation to the Japanese Football Bureau.

Kaiser continues his research on Yoichi, his searches begin to delve more towards his personal matters rather than football career. He had begun to find posts talking about Yoichi and the clingy brown and yellow haired boy. Posts about Yoichi and the younger Itoshi. Posts about Yoichi and the white haired giant. He found the posts disgusting, not that he knew why, but he was unable to look away.

That should be me and Yoichi… not him and those losers.

Scrolling through posts, he happened upon a link to a site. The site showed a story written about Yoichi and under eyelashes. It appeared to be romantic.

Kaiser was confused. Obviously the story wasn’t real, so was it written by fans? He clicked the site’s home page, being greeted by the title in the corner, ‘Archive of Our Own’ and options such as Fandom, Browse, Search, and About. Clicking Fandom, he found a massive list of things ranging from shows, to comics, to games, and so on. He had a faint idea of what the site was now.

He went to the top to register his own account, not really knowing why, he just felt it was necessary. He was truly disturbed to find a lack of content of himself, and he felt he needed to change that. Typing the username, ‘TheLastStandingRose’, he quickly set up his account and then opened up a google doc.

If no one else would write what he wanted to see it, then he would do it himself.
