Kota is sure Midoriya-sensei is dating someone, and he is going to find out who that person is.
The first thing he does is go to his friend, Eri; she's the only one who knows Midoriya enough to actually have information about it.
"I don't think he does," she says, narrowing her eyes at Kota's question as they walk inside the UA. "But if he somehow has a partner, it has to be Bakugo-san!"
Kota rolls his eyes at the name.
"Of course not!" He huffs. "I follow Mr. Explosion on Instagram and X and he would have posted something about dating Midoriya-sensei. He wouldn't be able to resist."
"It seems like you don't like Bakugo-san," Eri pouts, making him feel a little bit bad already.
"I'm not sure he's a good choice for Deku," Kota argues, although he hears the hesitation in his own voice. He knows Dynamight is completely in love with their teacher and practically worships him, even if Midoriya himself has no idea.
"Are you kidding me?" Eri says, a little bit defensive. "He's perfect for him! They have known each other their whole lives! And Bakugo-san looks at him like Deku is his entire world! They'd be really good together!"
Alright. Maybe she has a point, but Kota has to solve a mystery first.
"Well, even if they'd make a good couple, they're not together. Bakugo-san wouldn't be able to hide it. Besides, I'm sure he wouldn't want to keep it a secret."
"I think you're right," she says, a little bit reluctantly. "But what makes you think Midoriya-sensei is dating someone?"
"Let me show you..."
That's how they start observing their teacher, especially when he's on break or thinks no one is looking at him.
"You see that? There's no way he prepared that bento box for himself! Look at how good it looks!"
"You're right..." Eri agrees, nodding. "There's no way. He doesn't take that much time making food for himself. I've seen him eating instant noodles a couple of times."
Midoriya takes out his phone during his lunch break and starts texting someone. His cheeks turn slightly pink, and he starts giggling in a suspicious way.
"Yeah, definitely talking to his partner or crush there," Kota nods to himself.
Eri smiles softly at the scene.
"So cute! He's truly in love!"
Kota is not so sure about that, but it certainly looks like he's into the other person.
But there's no concrete proof of him being in a relationship.
Kota and Eri start hanging out a lot because they like to discuss their teacher and his secret love life. The problem is that they only do it at school, so one of those days, their classmates hear them, and they want to talk about it too.
Now the whole class 1A is trying to figure out whom Midoriya-sensei is dating.
Even though they're not sure if that's the case at all.
Someone says it has to be one of his friends, so they start by observing his interactions with them every time the pro heroes stop by the UA to help class 1A learn about hero work.
Another person is sure Midoriya-sensei is dating Uravity, but Kota dismisses that idea quickly because he's sure the boy who suggested it just ships them together. They look like very good friends though.
The thing they notice and everyone agrees on is that Dynamight is definitely in love with their teacher.
And Kota has to agree, he's not subtle at all; they usually find them talking in the hallway before class begins, and the explosive pro hero couldn't be more obvious if he tried.
"Maybe Midoriya-sensei is dating him," another boy says, and Eri immediately high-fives him.
"Do you really think Dynamight-san would keep it a secret if that was the case?" Kota asks, looking from Eri to that other boy quickly.
"I think you're right," a girl behind him agrees. "He'd say it out loud as soon as he could. Maybe even post it on his social media as soon as possible."
"But are we sure he's dating someone?"
"No, but the homemade bento is certainly suspicious."
When Pinky comes to the UA and has lunch with their sensei, a couple of their questions are answered.
Or that's what they think.
Ashido seems to be constantly teasing their teacher about a man, so they all assume he has a boyfriend.
"We're still not sure they're actually dating–"
Eri gently elbows the boy before he says anything else and Kota silently thanks her for it.
Aizawa narrows his eyes at the window that leads to the hallway and stares for a moment before he continues eating his lunch. Midoriya and Ashido, or any other of the teachers in the break room, don't seem to notice.
"If your Dad realizes what we're doing, we're screwed," Kota whispers to Eri as they both sit on the floor.
"Absolutely."
Later that day, they watch as Midoriya walks pro hero Pinky towards the parking lot.
Eri and Kota follow them close.
"I think it's cute he makes bento for you every single morning even though you don't live together yet. He loves you so much!"
"Ashido, please!" Midoriya stammers, as his face turns completely red.
"What? You know it's–oh, hi, there guys!"
Both Eri and Kota blush when the pro hero notices them.
Midoriya-sensei narrows his big, green eyes in confusion.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be heading home already? Do you need a ride?"
Kota shakes his head, slightly embarrassed. He feels bad for spying on Deku, but the truth is that he worries about him. He needs to make sure his teacher has a good boyfriend.
"We wanted an autograph!" Eri says quickly before pulling Kota closer.
Ashido seems delighted.

"Do you think it's pro hero Shoto?" One of the girls asks, as they all gather in the gym. If the teachers have noticed that all of class 1A have been spending a lot of time together, they haven't mentioned anything.
"Just because we saw them hugging outside it doesn't mean he's the boyfriend!" The boy who ships Uravity with Midoriya-sensei argues, a little bit irritated.
Kota admits that he has a point nonetheless.
"They seem to be just friends."
"Pro hero Shoto definitely has a thing for Midoriya-sensei."
There's a small discussion after that, mostly carried by the ones who don't like that pairing. Kota regrets involving everyone in this mess; they seem to be treating it like a game and it's not.
Eri looks like she's worried too.
"I think we should stop."
Everyone starts arguing and talking at the same time, but at the end of the day they agree not to discuss their teacher's love life anymore.
Kota thinks is for the best, even though he'd like to know, mostly to make sure the mysterious boyfriend is a good person and won't hurt his sensei's feelings.
"I think it's cute how much you worry about him." Eri says the next day, after Kota tells her about his concerns.
He blushes.
"I'm not..."
"I worry about him too, you know?"
Kota smiles at her, feeling a bit less embarrassed. Midoriya is class 1A's teacher, but it's different for Eri and himself; to them he's Deku, the hero, and their friend, almost like an older brother, the one who saved them when they needed him the most.
And they just want him to be happy.

When Kota sees class 1A gathered around their sensei in the parking lot he worries, especially when he sees a tall guy with a helmet on his head, hopping off a very expensive bike approaching Midoriya.
Eri is probably thinking the same because she looks at him with worry before saying: "Let's go before they say something-"
"Can we meet your boyfriend, Midoriya-sensei?"
"My what?" the teacher stammers as he turns into a deep shade of red.
"The one who always makes luch for you!"
The guy wearing the helmet snorts.
"That'd be me." He says, and he sounds ridiculously smug about it.
Kota is not sure he likes him.
"Kacchan!"
"Great!" Eri cheers, absolutely happy. "I knew it!"
Does that mean what Kota thinks it means? He hopes not.
The man takes his helmet off and a few people gasp when they recognize him.
"Dynamight-san!"
"Listen, Kacchan does make me lunch and picks me up sometimes, and he also pays for my dinner, and he-"
"Yes, I'm his boyfriend." He cuts the flustered teacher off, smirking when Midoriya looks back at him in confusion. "We just started dating. We would've started years ago if he wasn't so damned oblivious, but at least he knows how much I love him now."
"Kacchan..." Midoriya-sensei is tearing up now, but he's grinning from ear to ear. Bakugo takes one of his hands and kisses his knuckles.
Ugh. Kota does not want to see this.
"Now, fuck off, brats! I'm going to take my boyfriend on a date now!"
"Don't swear in front of them, Kacchan!"
"Bet they know more curse words than I do!" Bakugo smirks, pulling the green haired teacher close to him before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.
"I still don't approve of him," Kota tells Eri, sounding a bit grumpy.
"You will!" She says, almost like a threat. "He's great! Besides, can't you see he adores Deku?"
"I suppose he does," Kota admits, albeit reluctantly. "But I'll keep an eye on him nonetheless!"
"Of course you will," she says, nodding, although he can see she's rolling her eyes already.
Despite not liking Bakugo that much, Kota knows Eri is right. He makes their sensei very happy.
