Soft morning light streamed through the window, rousing Saliin from the most peaceful sleep he'd had in a year. He shivered in the cool spring air, rolling over to find the blanket.
After so long of sleeping in bedrolls and having the privacy a tent afforded, it was nice to finally have a little more privacy. It wasn't an aravel, but it felt close enough. Zevran had tightly wrapped the blankets around him, blond hair sticking to his face. He was quietly snoring, a sign that he was also at peace.
Time to ruin his peace. Saliin pulled the covers out and pressed his cool skin into Zevran's back, grabbing his bare torso. "Mmmf," Zevran complained with a shiver.
Saliin smiled, planting a few kisses on his shoulder. "Morning," he murmured cuddling closer. They laid there for a few minutes as Zevran slowly woke up, the pair enjoying the intimacy the tavern room afforded.
Eventually, Zevran rolled over. He glared at Saliin, who was moderately warmer. They shared slow, sleepy kisses until Saliin started to overheat. "Morning," Zevran croaked.
"Could be a longer one if you weren't running off to Antiva," Saliin retorted, stretching out his back. He leaned over for one more kiss, then started putting clothes on.
Rustling behind him suggested Zevran emerged from beneath the sheets and started dressing himself. Once Saliin sorted himself out, he helped Zevran finish dressing, a process made much slower as he pressed his lips against whatever bare skin he could still find. "And drag my dear Grey Warden away from his duties?" Zevran replied with a smile.
"You're allowed to miss me, vhenan," Saliin muttered beneath his breath.
A gloved hand tilted his chin up, so they were looking into each other's eyes. "I will. I'll be languishing alone in Antiva, thinking of my big strong warden coming apart beneath my hands," he teased, pecking Saliin's lips.
"We just got dressed. I'm not undressing you now," Saliin grumbled, though a fond look on his face betrayed how he really felt. "You better be thinking of me."
"Always am," Zevran affirmed, taking Saliin's hand. He firmly squeezed it, reflecting Saliin's fondness with a simmering look of his own.
Saliin sighed, pressing one last kiss to his cheek. "I trust your fucked up sense of morals won't stop you from doing what's right," he said, leading him to the door.
"And ruin my chances at a life free of the Crows? Never," he agreed, letting Saliin lead him to the main hall for breakfast. "Well, as long as this Grey Warden I'm fond of will let me come back and ravish him. I'm partial to that."
Saliin barked out a laugh and shook his head, golden earring catching some of the early morning light. "Me too," he sighed. "Breakfast?"
