He didn’t understand why he had done it. Standing in the freezing winds of Snowdin, with snowflakes swirling like silent witnesses to his hesitation, he came to the horrible realization that he never understood anything.
Years later, under a blazing sun that cast no shadows, Sans would squint at the open sky and wonder if his choice had meant anything at all—or if it was simply another link in an unbroken chain of futility.
