Summary:

A small writing about a blizzard in spring

This was for school so uhhh

Work Text:

The coldest day on earth was in Gensokyo, trying to recall that day for anyone living in Gensokyo was a nightmare for all persons. Some report that the earth fairies flead and invaded shops, buildings, and even homes to escape the blizzard. The underworld was chilly but not frozen over so many had to invade–this led to a slight epidemic of many different illnesses in the humans that fled down. The Myouren Temple offered space for people to live but many ended up being Yokai from the underworld trying to escape the mass amount of humans who were trying to kill the yokai. Overall that day wasn’t good for anyone. My team and I have gathered stories from that day that show the humanity in Gensokyo.

“So what was it like in the start?” Aya asked, Inchrin wiggled in her seat–Unzan the cloud like yokai– wrapped himself around her such that a father would cuddle his baby.

“Well at first it was light ice, but it was in may…I guess no one noticed the cold yet? Me and Unzan were unloading boxes for some charity work, and that’s when the ice bite both of us”
Inchrin hummed a bit “then we stopped, heading back inside the [Myouren] Temple, that’s when looking outside a window we saw Fairies lining the streets with wings frozen! Both me and Unzan felt like we had to do something! So we let them in, until we found out the snow was really hurting the fairies of Gensokyo…”
Unzan shook his head “I thought it was a bad idea, but my girl has never taken no as an answer so sadly..” Unzan’s voice was low but loud
“The snow held a curse like it was there just to kill the blooming greens”
“So we set out! And to be fair we found a lot…so many fairies were dead. They say they tried to fly to shelter but the cold froze their wings and well, their wing’s shattered.”
Inchrin sighed “The ice fairies legs were frozen in a pond as the small frog was mid jump, both were so wet that the sudden cold had just froze both over. Me and Unzan walked to the woodlin, where many of the fairies had stayed for the winter. We couldn't find much but we saved some of the newer fairies that were too young to take the ‘great fly’ to the city” Inchrin smiled at the camera “But in all fairness, a lot of our Fairy population died that day, I hope one day our (earth) fairies will came back to their full strangth but until then the Myouren Temple will hold out arms open”

As you read the Myouren Temple is open and safe for all including our fairies of Gensokyo. Gensokyo has never faced such a horrific event such as the deaths of our faries, and our Yokai—the beings who make Gensokyo, our Gensokyo. Byakuren, Reimu, and Yuuka are helping to open spaces for those who lost loved ones in the Storm

The storm meany are calling “Winter’s last ditch”
