Work Text:

Friday, February 14th, 2025

Longtae woke up that morning with a lightness in his chest and a sense of excitement coursing through him. It wasn’t just the soft rays of the sun filtering through the blinds or the faint birdsong outside his window. No, today was different —special.

For as long as he could remember, Longtae had loved the idea of Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t about grand gestures or expensive gifts, but the thought of celebrating love itself —the quiet moments, the loud declarations, and everything in between. This year, though, it wasn’t just an idea. It was real.

Today was the first Valentine’s Day he’d spend with Yok.

After sending Yok his usual good morning message, Longtae leapt out of bed, his mind racing with thoughts about the day. He had prepared something special, something that would leave Yok surprised and hopefully a little flustered. He chuckled at the thought, already imagining Yok’s reaction.

Dressed simply in a white shirt with a red collar and his favorite pair of jeans, Longtae stood in front of the mirror, brushing his fingers through his hair to let it fall naturally over his forehead. His reflection smiled back at him —he couldn’t seem to stop grinning.

“Calm down,” he murmured to himself, though his heart refused to listen.

The walk to university was a blur, his mind caught up in dreams of Yok. What would he say? Would he be surprised? Would he smile the way Longtae loved, his eyes crinkling at the edges, his dimples just barely showing?

By the time Longtae arrived, he was almost late for his first class. Stepping into the lecture hall, he froze.

The sight before him was nothing short of magical.

An enormous bouquet of roses —brilliant red and perfectly arranged— sat atop the professor’s desk, surrounded by smaller bouquets with delicate cards peeking out from the blooms. The scene was a whirlwind of color and movement as students gathered around, reading names off the cards and delivering the flowers to their intended recipients.

A quiet “wow” escaped his lips. He didn’t remember anything like this last year.

Trying to shake off his awe, Longtae moved to his usual spot, greeting his friends with his characteristic brightness. But even as they chatted, his eyes kept wandering back to the bouquets, wondering how such a grand display had come together.

He pulled out his phone, hoping for a message from Yok, when a voice called out from the front of the room.

“Long?”

He looked up, startled, and saw a girl standing near the professor’s desk. They weren’t close, but she’d always been kind to him, and he didn’t mind when she used his nickname. She was holding a pale blue envelope in her hand.

“These are for you!” she announced cheerfully, her voice carrying across the room.

Longtae blinked, his heart suddenly hammering. “For me?”

She nodded and tucked the envelope back into the largest bouquet —the enormous one on the professor’s desk.

Longtae stood, his legs feeling unsteady, and made his way to the front. He could feel the weight of curious eyes following him, whispers trailing in his wake. But he was used to this now. Ever since he and Yok had made their relationship public, attention had become a part of his life.

Reaching the bouquet, he picked up the card before anything else. His hands trembled slightly as he opened the blue envelope. The words inside made his breath catch:

To the love of my life, Tae.

Yours forever, Yok

Love has a strange way of leaving people breathless, and in that moment, Longtae felt as though the world had tilted on its axis. He couldn’t hold back the soft sound that escaped his lips —a mix between a laugh and a gasp.

Turning to the girl, who was watching him with an amused, dreamy expression, Longtae couldn’t help but smile back. His grin grew wider as he picked up the massive bouquet with some difficulty. There had to be at least fifty roses, their fragrance surrounding him in a cloud of sweetness.

Returning to his seat, he placed the bouquet down carefully, his cheeks glowing with a mix of joy and embarrassment. His friends leaned in, teasing him with wide eyes and knowing smiles, but he hardly heard them. His mind was spinning, and his heart felt like it was ready to burst.

The professor arrived moments later, casting a skeptical glance at the petals now scattered across the floor, but even his light-hearted remarks couldn’t pull Longtae out of his daze.

He pulled out his phone and quickly typed a message to Yok.

You’re crazy

The reply came almost instantly, as if Yok had been waiting for it.

Crazy for you

The words hit him like a wave. Longtae stared at his phone, his lips curling into a helpless smile. For the rest of the lecture, he couldn’t focus. His thoughts were consumed by Yok —his laugh, his smile, his warm presence.

When the class finally ended, Longtae hurried out, clutching the bouquet tightly. A feeling in his chest told him Yok was near.

Stepping outside, his eyes scanned the area until they landed on a familiar figure leaning casually against the railing. Yok’s gaze was fixed on the door, his face calm and steady —until their eyes met.

Both of them smiled instantly, their connection so tangible it seemed to light up the space between them. Longtae giggled as he ran toward him, carefully placing the bouquet on the ground before throwing himself into Yok’s arms.

Yok laughed, the sound warm and full of love. “Happy Valentine’s Day, love,” he whispered, his breath brushing against Longtae’s ear.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to you too,” Longtae replied, his voice muffled as he buried his face in Yok’s shoulder. Then he pulled back, his cheeks flushed. “But seriously, what is all this? Roses? Do you know how expensive these are? And where did you even find them? I’ve been searching since early this month, but every florist said they were sold out—”

Yok silenced him with a kiss, deep and lingering, leaving Longtae momentarily stunned.

“Hey, that’s not fair,” Longtae pouted, his lips curving into a mock frown.

“You’re adorable when you ramble,” Yok teased, pressing small kisses to his cheeks. “Actually, you’re adorable all the time.”

“Stop it,” Longtae laughed, swatting at him playfully. “Just answer my questions!”

As they walked toward their next classes, Yok finally explained, “I ordered the roses back in October. I was busy with my final year, and the idea just hit me. I didn’t want to forget, so I placed the order early.”

Longtae stopped in his tracks, staring at him in disbelief. “You’re not even the Valentine’s Day type!”

“I’m not,” Yok admitted, his voice softening. “But with you, it just felt... natural.”

Longtae’s heart melted at the sincerity in his words. He leaned in to kiss Yok gently. “I love you,” he whispered.

As they climbed the stairs, Yok admitted sheepishly, “I wish I’d booked us a dinner somewhere nice. Turns out people make reservations way earlier than I thought.”

Longtae laughed, his eyes twinkling. “Don’t worry about that. I have a surprise for you tonight. Just keep your evening free, okay?”

Yok smirked, his confidence returning. “Oh, really? Well, I have a surprise for you too. After class, I’m taking you somewhere special.”

Longtae’s eyes widened in delight. “Where?”

“That’s a secret,” Yok replied with a grin. “Now go before you’re late.”

With one last kiss, Longtae dashed up the stairs, calling over his shoulder, “I’ll pray for time to fly!”

Yok watched him disappear, his smile softening. Every day, he found himself falling deeper in love with Longtae.

Longtae dashed out of the classroom as soon as the lecture ended, his heart racing with excitement. Most of the day was free, and skipping a few afternoon classes felt worth it if it meant spending time with his boyfriend.

As he stepped out into the open air, his gaze instinctively searched the crowd, and there he was —Yok. Leaning again casually against the wall, a soft smile playing on his lips, Yok looked as if he had all the time in the world. Longtae’s chest tightened, his steps faltering for just a moment.

How did Yok always manage to be there? Their schedules were nearly identical, yet somehow Yok made it seem effortless to arrive early and wait for him. Longtae had wondered about it before, but he never lingered too long on the question. The truth was, it made him feel wanted. It made him feel cherished.

The sight of Yok waiting there stirred something bittersweet in him, a memory of how things had once been. Not so long ago, their dynamic had been entirely different. Back then, when they were just “friends”, it had always been Longtae initiating their moments together —calling first, reaching out, creating opportunities to connect.

He hadn’t minded it at the time, but now, standing here with Yok’s quiet devotion unfolding in the simplest gestures, he realized how much it meant to him to be loved so openly.

Before heading to the mysterious destination Yok had planned, the older boy gently suggested leaving the roses at his home so they wouldn’t be a burden. Together, they placed the bouquet in a basin of water, carefully arranging the stems.

As they were about to leave, Longtae hesitated, catching sight of himself in the mirror.

“Wait, love. Do you think I should change?” he asked, tilting his head as he studied his reflection.

Yok turned, slightly puzzled. “Hm? Why would you?”

Longtae frowned, a flicker of insecurity crossing his features. “I don’t know. Don’t I look… weird?”

Yok’s gaze softened. He walked over and wrapped his arms around Longtae’s waist, pulling him close. In a swift motion, he turned Longtae away from the mirror to face him directly, his eyes steady and full of care.

“Don’t even think about it. You’re stunning. You look so irresistible today,” he said firmly, pressing a gentle kiss to Longtae’s nose.

Though a smile spread across Longtae’s face, his eyes still betrayed a hint of doubt. Yok’s brow furrowed in mock exasperation, his lips quirking into a playful smirk.

“You still don’t believe me, huh?” he teased. His hands, resting lightly on Longtae’s waist, slid downward in one fluid motion, coming to rest on the curve of his ass. He gave it a light squeeze, watching with satisfaction as Longtae gasped and pushed at his chest, his face flushing crimson.

“Cheeky as always,” Yok murmured, his smirk deepening. “What do you say we skip the outing, head to the bedroom, and I’ll show you how irresistible you are?”

Longtae froze, his mind racing as the heat between them thickened. Yok’s hands moved to tug at his belt, and the younger boy’s voice cracked as he yelped, “For fuck’s sake, stop! I hate you when you’re like this!”

Laughing heartily, Yok chased after Longtae, catching up just as he reached the door. He wrapped his arms around him again, pressing light kisses to his flushed cheeks and whispering teasing compliments about how adorable he looked when embarrassed.

A short taxi ride later, Longtae’s breath caught as the destination came into view.

“Sea Life Bangkok? You’re kidding!” he exclaimed, his eyes wide and sparkling.

Yok pulled two tickets from his back pocket, grinning as Longtae all but tackled him in a hug.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you, I love you, I love you!” Longtae cried, dragging Yok toward the entrance before the older boy could even respond.

For Longtae, stepping into the aquarium was like stepping into a dream. Growing up surrounded by the endless green of mountains, his exposure to marine life had been limited to the waterfall and forest lake near his village. The lake had been a place of peace, of solitude, but it had also been the extent of his understanding of water’s mysteries.

“Look at that! Yok, did you see that?! Oh, I’m so glad I decided to bring my camera last minute!” Longtae’s voice echoed through the halls as he darted from one exhibit to the next, camera in hand. His enthusiasm was infectious, so much so that even Yok, who had initially approached the idea with indifference, found himself swept up in the magic of it all.

At first, Yok had felt a pang of guilt seeing the creatures confined behind glass. But seeing Longtae’s joy —pure, radiant, and uncontainable— shifted something in him. He realized this wasn’t just an outing for Longtae; it was a glimpse into a world he’d never been able to experience before.

By the time they left, the sun was dipping below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of gold and amber. Longtae clung to Yok’s arm, still bouncing with energy.

“So… what about your surprise?” Yok asked, his stomach growling audibly.

Longtae froze, a look of dismay crossing his face. “It’s ruined! You were supposed to arrive at the address, and everything was supposed to be ready for you. Now you’ll see me cooking everything!”

Yok chuckled, brushing his thumb over Longtae’s hand. “It doesn’t matter. You’re the surprise, after all.”

A short motorbike ride later, Longtae led Yok through a path flanked by dense bushes. When they emerged, a glass house glowing warmly in the twilight came into view.

“Close your eyes,” Longtae whispered, his voice trembling with excitement.

Yok complied, allowing Longtae to guide him inside.

“Open them.”

Yok’s breath caught as he took in the scene. Rose petals blanketed the floor, a candlelit table stood by a wide glass window overlooking a softly illuminated garden, and scattered decorations —especially red hearts— glowed warmly in the flickering light.

Yok turned to Longtae, his throat tight with emotion. “Where… where did you find this place?” he asked, his voice trembling.

“I rented it for us. Just for tonight,” Longtae replied softly.

“And… you decorated all this yourself?” Yok’s voice cracked, and as the first tear fell, Longtae’s one followed instantly.

“Silly, why are you crying?” Longtae asked, laughing softly as Yok pulled him into a tight embrace.

“I’m just… so happy. I love you,” Yok whispered, burying his face in Longtae’s neck.

Yok wasn’t crying because of the decor. It wasn’t about the rose petals or the candles. It was about what they meant —the effort, the care, the thoughtfulness that Longtae had poured into making this night special.

For so long, Yok had struggled to believe he could be loved. His past weighed heavily on him, the scars of mistakes and failures whispering lies that he wasn’t enough. Yet here, in Longtae’s arms, those whispers quieted. Longtae didn’t just love him; he loved all of him. He embraced every wound, every flaw, kissing the places Yok himself had deemed unworthy.

Whatever Yok had done in a past life to deserve Longtae, he didn’t know. But he would never stop being grateful for him.

Later, as they cooked together, Yok couldn’t help but smile. It wasn’t just the joy of sharing the moment —it was the hope for a future filled with these quiet, beautiful moments. A life where they would navigate each day side by side, hands intertwined.

And after eating, they headed towards the tiny bedroom, giggling for unknown reasons. The wine they had had painted their cheeks with an undertone of pink.

They exchanged a messy kiss on their way to the mattress, letting themselves fall as soon as they were close enough.

Yok quickly got on top of Longtae, his lips already tracing tangled and wet trails on his boyfriend’s soft skin.

“You know,” Yok began as he helped Longtae get out of his t-shirt and doing the same with his one as well. “I imagined us to have a crazy and hot love making session tonight because of the special day” He continued, huffing the words on Longtae’s lips.

The younger one giggled lightly, pronouncing “And now?” as his hands dived into Yok’s soft and dark hair, his fingers playing with the little strands of hair of his mullet adorably sticking out.

“I just can’t stop smiling” He revealed before locking their lips. They tasted like wine and the chocolate lava cake Longtae had been so proud to make. It was sweet and intoxicating, Yok found himself wishing they had some melted chocolate left to use.

“We can still have fun, you know?” Suggested Longtae, a sly smile on his tired yet vicious face.

“Sure we can”

Yok immediately focused on his neck, his obsession with seeing the younger one covered with marks left by him was still his biggest turn on, and by the sounds that had started leaving Longtae’s mouth it seemed like he was enjoying it as well.

“Yok..” whispered the photographer, his silent plead echoing through the room like a sweet melody.

Longtae had his legs wrapped around Yok’s waist, and he could already feel how his hardened bulge was desperately pressing against his belly button.

“I hear you, love. I’m taking care of you tonight” vocalized Yok while pressing a kiss on where he imagined his heart was.

“You take care of me everyday” replied Longtae, making Yok adjust himself to look him into his eyes. “You do too” He added, and that made Longtae smile again.

Yok was a weak man in front of that smile, it was able to completely shut his mind at the speed of light. That smile was the center of his world.

They proceeded to free themselves from the pants and their underwear as well, then Yok took both their lengths with his hand, rubbing them together with lazy movements, while they just kept looking at each other.

Even though it was nice to have rough sex at times, nothing came close to fully savoring the act. Of moving as if they dictated time, of the anticipation painfully twisting their guts, of living the real meaning of the words “make love”.

What a beautiful way of expressing such an intimate act. In those confined square meters, Yok and Longtae were the epitome of the word love itself.

And after carefully opening Longtae up, Yok had easily slid inside him. They had agreed to use a condom when they had intercourse, but at times, like this one, the need to feel the closest ever was the strongest one, so they’d get tasted just in case.

They were moving in both in and out of sync. Longtae’s body would sometimes slide down the cushion made out of a red wine colored silk, and though a bit uncomfortable, it didn’t really matter for Longtae.

“Tae..”

Now, that mattered.

Yok’s low and deep voice grasping his mind as he would thrust deep into him, his hands touching and caressing him, his lips left hung open as the boy was losing himself in pleasure. That sound was the only thing that mattered to Longtae.

“Yok” he would moan back, their hitched breaths bouncing off the walls, sticking to their sweaty skin.

“Tae, I’m..” Talking was too much of a task right know. He knew Longtae wasn’t as close as him, he could tell it by his body language.

As his thrusts became deeper and more controlled, he took Longtae’s cock in his hand, giving it fast and tight strokes just like the brunette loved.

He immediately pulled at the older one’s hair, his head shooting back as he let the loudest moan of the night.

“That’s” Be began, his mind going blank as Yok had also sped up the pace of his thrusts. The bed frame slamming against the wall was now the background music to their own melody.

Before they could fully register it, they came almost at the same time. A last cry leaving Longtae’s abused lips as he savored the feeling of being filled up, his own cum splattering a bit onto his chest while the majority colored Yok’s hand.

They were both left panting and exhausted, though Yok didn’t miss the opportunity of giving his boyfriend a little show while licking his hand clean. And Longtae just cursed him out, becoming even redder than he already was.

Yok, still inside but soft inside his boyfriend, collapsed onto his chest, Longtae’s heart’s crazy tempo drumming in his ear.

“What were you trying to say?” Asked Yok when he started to feel his breath steadying. “That it’s so unfair that you pull out that move every time you want us to come together”

The artist laughed, looked up at the love of his life and pronounced one last “I love you” before they drifted off to sleep. Longtae had jokingly rolled his eyes, shooting an “I love you more” and shutting every possible protest with a kiss.

When the night ended, and they lay tangled in each other’s arms, hearts still racing, Yok thought of how far they’d come.

A year ago, they had been drowning in their own fears, weighed down by walls they’d built around themselves. Back then, love had felt like an impossible dream. Now, those walls were gone, replaced by a bond that was unbreakable.

And the best part? Longtae knew it. Yok didn’t have to say the words —he could feel Longtae’s certainty in every touch, every look, every unspoken moment.

Love was funny that way. What had once seemed unattainable now felt infinite, like it had been invented for them and them only.
