Mantis tilted her head. “Do you think they will kiss and make up soon?”
Rocket snorted, leaning back in his chair with a grimace. “More like make out,” he said, his face scrunching in disgust. “And probably somewhere really inconvenient, like the cockpit. Again.”
Drax frowned, his brow furrowing as he crossed his arms over his chest. “I hope not,” he said. “The last time that happened, I heard Gamora make a sound like an animal.”
Rocket’s eyes widened, and he nearly choked on the water he’d been sipping. “Ew, Drax!” he yelled, his voice climbing an octave in sheer horror. “Were you peeking on them, you freak?!”
“I did not peek!” Drax protested, his tone indignant and defensive. “I was merely following the strange sound. At first, I thought it was a wounded creature—perhaps one of Rocket’s contraptions malfunctioning. But when I found the source, I realized it was them.”
Rocket froze mid-step, his fur practically standing on end. “Wait, wait, wait. They tarnished the cockpit?” he exclaimed, his paws flying to his ears. “I thought they were just kissing! You mean to tell me—”
