“---And that’s why my muffins are waaay better than Sarah’s” You promptly explained, sitting at the cafeteria table with Null.
Null nods along, “Sounds like you put a lot of effort into them”
“Damn right I do!” You remark, taking a bite out of your snacky bar, “You should try them sometime”
“You do know I’m a videogame character stuck in this game right?” Null points out, a little humor in the tone of his voice.
The second you realized this; you grew a little flustered causing him to chuckle. Even if you can’t see most of his body, you’ve grown accustomed to how he expresses himself so you could ‘see’ the smile he had on his face, his more playful teasing always got the better of you.
“S-so? You’re real to me, better than that character AI crap that’s going around lately…” You remarked, “I like you Null, even if we’re in two completely different worlds”
That seems to stop him in his thoughts, eyelids softening with their gaze focus on you.
“Same here” He admits, his posture relaxing slightly.
He then notices how messy your face is, with little pixel crumbs around your mouth, a more light-tone sigh escapes his mouth, “Seriously? You’re such a messy eater”
“I know you are but what am i?”
“…a messy eater, come here”
Null leans down a bit to your level and wipes away some of the crumbs around your face, his thumb brushes up against your lip every now and then, making the blood rush through your face, heart getting all riled up, eyes looking everywhere else but him.
Thankfully he pulls away, wiping his hand on his red shirt, “I can’t imagine how bad the ‘real’ you would be”
“I’m not ‘that’ mess in real life!” You said, swinging your legs a bit, “Eating in game is just tricky”
“Yeah yeah--- and how long have you been playing this game?” He snarks with a smirk.
“Shut up” you push him, not enough to knock him back but it does get a laugh out of him from your weak attempt.
The two of you were far too absorbed in your playful bickering that you didn’t notice how a certain math teacher was peeking through the door to observed, The principle noticed this and made his way to Baldi.
“Is something wrong?” He inquired.
“No not at all” Baldi whispered to him, beckoning him to come closer, “look”
The principle looks and sees the two of you laughing and chatting along, it was a strange but charming sight to see the player interact with someone like Null.
“I’m surprise he’s out” Principle remarks, noting how he rarely hung around when the game was active, preferring to hang around the hard to reach areas.
“I know! He’s come so far” the math teacher gushed, “Player really helped him come out of his shell”
“Are you not mad?”
“Hm? Why?” Baldi asked him.
“He did…he did possess you to try and scare them off from playing the game ever again” he carefully expressed his thoughts, “I understand the player no longer having hard feeling towards him but what about you? You told me yourself how painful it was…”
Baldi does take a moment to give him an answer, looking back at you and Null, “It did, I won’t lie about that, the pain still sometimes lingers but… I forgive him, he’s changed and it’s clear that the player really helped him get better”
He then gives a small smirk, “Besides…. Those two really make a cute couple”
That is something the principle can get behind, “Indeed they are, too bad they’re both not very smart”
“Should we help?”
“No” it’s much more entertaining this way.
