You sigh as you unlock your apartment, today had been a exhausting day. You walked in and closed the door behind you, making sure to lock it.
You turned on the lights and dropped your bag on the floor. You didn't have any pets or anyone waiting for you at home, seeing as you were always on call at the hospital, having a pet or relationship seemed too hard to balance.
But that doesn't mean that it didn't feel kinda lonely coming home to nothing. You immediately walked over to your bedroom, grabbed a pair of pyjamas and headed straight for the shower.
You flopped down, stomach first on your bed, you could feel your muscles relaxing for the first time for the whole day.
You turned around so you were laying on your back, you stared up at the ceiling above you. For some reason you couldn't get those crimson eyes out of your head...
You giggle as you remember the last thing you had said, you had called him mister grumpy! The conversation you two had kept replying in your head, it was the highlight of your day if you were being honest.
You actually really enjoyed his grumpy attitude and you'd be lying if you said you've haven't been thinking about his hot muscles.
You were sad when you had to leave him, you wish you had asked for his name or hell even hero name so that you could stalk him online, but sadly you had been in such a rush you had forgotten.
You could always text Toyomitsu and ask if he knew the guy seeing as a lot of heroes knew each other, but knowing him he'd go overboard and try and question you about the mystery hero.
He'd always been like a super extroverted and like a overprotective older brother to you, ever since the day you saved him when you were 11 he had become your number one fan, and one of your best friends.
You giggle, you grabbed one of your pillow and sighed as you held it close, you closed your eyes feeling sleep wash over you.
You woke up to the sound of your phone ringing, you groaned as you reached over and grabbed it. You squinted as you tried to read the name, you pressed the green button and held it up to your ear.
"You better have a really good reason for calling me at 7am Toyomitsu." You could hear him laugh through the other end, "Still not a morning person huh?" You roll your eyes, "Why are you bothering me on my day off." You ask cutting straight to the point.
Usually you were a very kind and caring person, except in the morning, you are not a morning person. He sighed, "I need your help." You rub your eyes and sit up, "Elaborate."
"Mine and a bunch of other agencies are planning a huge bust on the new League of villains, its going to be a super dangerous mission so I need you on standby. Thats why I need you to come in today so you can be apart of the meeting."
You throw your legs over the edge of the bed and continue to speak, "Have you talked with my supervisor at the hospital?" You ask, "Yup already cleared you for the month." You sigh, well there really was no way of getting out of this.
"When?" You hear him tense up, "Don't be mad...in a hour..." You groan, "For pumpkin sakes Toyomitsu! I have an hour to get ready!?" You jump up and start to run around trying to get all your stuff.
"I'm sorry! The meeting time was set by Dynamight! Don't blame me!" You put your phone on speaker and place it on your table as you start to undress, "Well tell whoever that is their dead for holding the stupid meeting at 8am!!" You scream at the phone as you throw on some clothes.
Toyomitsu laughed, "I'll definitely tell him. Although I can't guarantee he'll be happy about it, he has quite the temper." You pick up your phone as you walked out of your bedroom, holding it up to your ear again.
"I sure as heck hope he's not happy! He should known I mean it when he says he's crazy for wanting to have a meeting at 8 in the morning!!"
Toyomitsu continued to laugh, "Some just enjoy the morning L/N."
You scoff, "Yeah well I don't!" You walk over to the kitchen and grab a protein bar, you then walk to the front door. Thank god you were too lazy to unpack your bag yesterday and it was still just laid next to the front door.
You walk over and crouch down, unzipping it as you talk, "Meetings at your agency right?" He hums a yes through the phone, you check your bag making sure you had everything, your medical supplies, candies, notebook, 2 bottles of water, heating pads, extra hoodie, blankets, just everything you could possibly need.
You zip your bag back up and swing it over your shoulder, "I'll see you there then. Café after?" You ask as you unlock your door and walk out, "Definitely! See you soon." You hear your phone beep signalling he's hung up. You lock your door behind you, you check your phone, 7:23, if you walked fast you could make it.
You check your phone one last time, 7:47, you were right on time, thank god you had picked up the pace, otherwise you probably would have been late. You wiped your mouth, making sure you had no crumbs on your face from the protein bar and ran your fingers through your hair one last time before stepping inside.
Immediately after stepping inside you were greeted by your favourite receptionist, "L/N! Good morning!!" The friendly rabbit greeted, his white bunny ears standing up, even though you hated mornings you couldn't help but smile at his kindness.
"Morning Kato." You greeted back with a little less excitement seeing as you were still waking up. You walked up and leaned over the counter, he laughed. "Still not a morning person huh?" He asked, you nodded. "Nope and probably never will be."
He nodded, "I get that. Well I'm not gonna keep you long, Fatgum has requested your presence in the meeting room asap." You sigh, why did your morning have to start with a goddam meeting.
"Which meeting room is it?" You ask, he grabs a pile of papers and starts reading through it, "Should be meeting room 7 but if not I'm sure you can find it." You nod, "Thanks Kato!" You yell as you walk towards the elevator.
You step inside and press the number 4 floor button. You tighten the grip on the strap of your bag, you felt a little nervous, you were use to being around pro heroes, most of the people you healed and saw daily were heroes.
You even were friends with a few well known ones, but you couldn't help but feel nervous because this wasn't usually the setting you would meet them in, usually you'd meet heroes at the hospital or out in the field when you had been called out to do damage control but now you were quite literally about to be involved in one of their meetings.
The elevator dinged signalling you were on the fourth floor, the doors opened and you stepped out. You knew the Fatgum agency like the back of your hand seeing as you had been here a million times before.
Walking closer to meeting room 7 you noticed a few heroes, sidekicks and hero assistants outside, you recognised a few. As you walked over you noticed Fatgum's sidekick standing in front of the door fidgeting with his hands. You walked over to the shy boy, "Morning Tamaki." You greeted, his eyes shot up.
"L/N!" You giggle at his excitement, the two of you were close friends and you had been lucky enough to have seen the more energetic side of the shy boy. “Your here for the meeting right?” He asks with a small blush on his face, you nod. He grabs your arm and gently drags you towards the doors. He slowly reaches over and opens the meeting room door.
"Fatgum L/N's here…" He spoke softly, probably feeling a little nervous about the room full of intimidating heroes, suddenly all eyes were turned to you. You blushed and panicked a little as you scanned over all the faces looking at you in the room, but kept your composure and smiled.
There were a lot of heroes, big well known ones too, you even recognised a few of them as heroes you've healed while doing field work.
Your eyes however landed on the male standing in the middle in front of the white boards at the front of the meeting room, wearing a black T-shirt and some jeans. Woww he looked good, he had his arms crossed and a familiar scowl on his face. You almost laughed as you had though about the stupid nickname you had given him that fits him so well.
His eyes seemed to widen as the two of your eyes met, however your moment was broken up when Fatgum had made his way over, "Perfect timing L/N!"
He swung his arm around your shoulder and took you away from Tamaki, he walked you over to one of the seats at the table, he pulled out the seat for you, you mumbled a thank you as you sat down and he pushed you in.
He then clapped his hands getting everyone's attention and walked over to the whiteboard, he took a stand next to the grumpy male you had met a day ago, his eyes were still on you.
"Now that everyone's here we can get started! He turns to the board behind him. "We've gotten leads that the missing people are being held by the New League of Villains in this building."
Fatgum circled a building, on the map scattered across the board. He then stuck a bunch of photos on the board. "After staking the building we've collected data on at least 4 of the members quirks, the remaining 3 however sadly remain unknown.”
He then started pointing to each picture and explained their quirk, "This member has a speed enhancing quirk, this member can use their quirk to create domains able to trap individuals inside, this member has a shapeshifting quirk and lastly this member seems to be able to merge any machine with their body, and even combine multiple machines into one to create weapons."
He finished explaining and moved onto the 3 remaining individuals, "We don't know anything about their quirks, we can assume however at least one of them has a quirk that is allowing them to create the copy cat Nomus from the last attack." You could hear mumbling coming from beside you, glancing over you noticed a green haired boy talking to himself and writing in a journal.
He looked familiar, you decided to ignore it though and put your focus back on Fatgum. Fatgum sighed, "And sadly however this just seems to be the main members quirks, as you all know the new League of Villains has gained followers, meaning there will probably be more lower level villains fighting along side and helping the new L.O.V who's quirks we also don't have any information on."
The grumpy man you had met a few days ago tch, catching a few people's attention, "So what? Were just going in fucking blind?" He asked angrily as he glared between Fatgum and the board, analysing it.
Fatgum nodded, "Yes, but we don't have a choice if our suspicions are correct and that building is where Nomus are being created we need to take action and save those people before its too late." The grumpy man grunted, "We're basically sending ourselves to our own fucking graves."
He was so sassy, if the room wasn't so tense and serious you probably would have been dying from laughter, Fatgum sighed but smiled, his mood seeming to lift a little bit, "Thankfully not." He then turned a little and glanced at you, "I'll have the healer, Epione on standby."
A few people turned to look at you, you blushed, but noticed the green haired boy who had been mumbling next to you staring at you with a curious look in his eyes. This was the first time you had really seen him look up from his notebook, he had green eyes and looked oddly familiar, maybe you've healed him before?
Turning your attention to the front again you noticed the ash blonds eyes on you, he was glaring at you just like he was glaring at the board, almost like he was analysing you. Instinctively you smiled at him, his eyes widened and he quickly turned away.
You almost giggled as you noticed the small blush dusted on his cheeks, what a cutie.
"I know its risky, but innocent people's lives are at stake here." Fatgum spoke grabbing everyones attention again. The mood turned serious, you noticed the heroes around you turn determined, you even noticed a change in attitude from the ash blond.
He grunted, "Fine, but we'll be holding another meeting to discuss a better plan, because storming into a fucking building blind is stupid." Fatgum nodded, "Alright then, how about we all come up with plans and reconvene in a few days to discuss things through? Everyone okay with that?" You heard a few mumbles of agreement coming from the heroes around you.
Fatgum clapped his hands together catching everyone's attention one last time, "Alright then meeting adjured!"
You watched as all the heroes around you started to get up from their chairs and leave, you got up as well, but instead of leaving you walked towards the front where Fatgum was still conversing with the grumpy man you had met a day before.
Fatgum noticed your presence and was the first to turn to you, "Ah L/N! What did you think of the meeting?" He excitedly asked, "I still think who ever decided to have the meeting at 8am is insane."
Fatgums face dropped, you noticed his expression and raised your eyebrows at him. "What?" You asked curiously, thats when you noticed the death glare you were receiving from the ash blond, he had a deep scowl on his face.
You look at him confused, "Uhhh..." He came closer and leaned over you, you'd be lying if you said you didn't kinda find it attractive. "I'm the one who chose the meeting time dumbass." You deadpanned at his words, but then a devilish smirk appeared on your face.
You couldn't help the giggle from seeping out as you spoke your next words, "Is...is that why your so grumpy!?" You toppled over with laughter when you saw the annoyed look on his face. "What the hell is that supposed to mean!!" You continued to laugh earning weird looks from Fatgum.
"I'm just saying maybe if you, you know, cuddle with a lover in the morning, slept in, basked in the sunlight more maybe you wouldn't be so grumpy." You continued to tease the grumpy man only causing his scowl to deepen.
Fatgum had taken a step back scared of what the ash blonds reaction was gonna be, but was pleasantly surprised when Bakugou hadn't blown up. Instead he looked down at you with a annoyed look, but his tone wasn't that harsh. "I don't have a lover."
Your eyebrows widened in surprise, you for sure thought a guy that hot would have one, "Really?" You asked the male surprised, he nodded. "So you have no one to cuddle or make love too! No wonder your so cranky!!" You bust out laughing again, to the dismay of the ash blond.
Fatgum could only stare in shock, Bakugou was letting you tease him? Usually Bakugou would have threatened whoever was annoying him by now but with you he kinda just seemed to let it happen.
Fatgum has know you since you were 11, you've always amazed him at how easily you could draw people in, people loved your kindness and smile, but never in a million years could he have guessed you would have been able to pull in the Bakugou Katsuki!! Lord Explosion Murder Dynamight himself!!
"Would you stop fucking laughing its not that funny!!" The grumpy man spoke crossing his arms and glaring at you, you calmed down and wiped away fake tears. "Sorry! Sorry!" You apologised.
You noticed the ash blond clench his jaw and look away, 'oh oopsies did I tease him too much?' You panic as you notice him refusing to meet his gaze. "You know..." You spoke gaining his attention again, he looked at you and raised a eyebrow.
"I really am surprised you don't have a lover." He blushed, but kept eye contact and raised a eyebrow at you. "Being a hero and all, don't you get like swarmed with people who'd wanna date you?"
You turn your attention away from the man and look at the board, you heard him grunt. "No." You pause for a moment and look up at him confused, you were about to ask him why, but a knock at the door stopped you.
All three of yours attention turned to the door. It was that same green haired boy! He was awkwardly stood in the doorway. "Sorry to interrupt Fatgum, I was just...uhh wondering if I could talk to Epione." His eyes met yours, filled with that same curiosity.
You noticed he still had his notebook in hand, the grumpy man grunted. "What do you want with her Deku." His tone was harsh, it was a tone he's never used with you before. It was actually strange hearing him be so defensive suddenly.
The green haired boy panicked, raising his arms up in defence. "I'm just curious about her quirk is all!!" He explained very flustered. You giggle, he just wanted to know about your quirk? What a strange boy.
Mr. Grumpy turned to look at you annoyed, "You laugh a fucking lot don't you." He spoke mindlessly as he crossed his arms and looked at you, you smiled. "Yup! Opposite of you it seems Mister Grumpy." You tease, he just grunted.
Not a man of lots of words it seems, unless their cuss words or words of anger that is. You turn your attention back too the green haired male. "You wanna know about my quirk?" You question, he furiously nods taking a step closer.
"Hmm...well my quirk is kinda hard to explain, might take a while..." "Thats okay I have time!" He was really determined..."Why don't you join us on our café hangout Midoriya? You can sit and ask L/N as many questions as you want." Toyomitsu spoke, the green eyes boys eyes lit up.
"Yes! That would be perfect!" Toyomitsu laughs at the boys excitement. "Great well then what are we waiting around for lets go!!" He excitedly spoke as he started walking, you followed, but stopped when you noticed the ash blond still stood by the board.
"Umm..." He turned around to raise a eyebrow at you. You blush as you tighten the grip on the strap of you bag, not wanting to meet his gaze. "You wanna come with?" You ask with a slight bit of nervousness. He scoffs, but surprisingly starts walking towards you.
You could only stare at him in amazement and happiness as he came closer, he was actually gonna come with!? He frowned as he walked past you, "Come on smiley face." He looked over his shoulder and smiled at you. You quickly snapped back into reality.
"Right coming!" You caught up with him, he could only let out a low chuckle at your strange behavior. Fatgum and the green haired boy were walking a little ways up ahead, talking about whatever. You and Mister grumpy followed, in silence.
But it wasn't awkward, you just couldn't find the words to speak, mind being too filled with the fact that he had just called you smiley face! And gosh the way he looked at you when he said it, he was devilishly handsome and that chuckle!! You could fall asleep too that.
Your mind started to wonder about the grumpy man next to you, you still hadn't asked his name...you at least knew his pro hero name was 'Dynamight' so you could stalk him online if you really wanted.
Your eyes wandered over to the man, even through his shirt you could tell he was muscular. He really was attractive.
"Why don't people fawn over you?" He glanced at you confused, "What?" You glance back at him, "You said that even as a hero people don't want to date you, which seems crazy if you ask me so there must be like some big reason why people don't have interest in you."
You now fully turn to face him, "Did you like murder a bunch of innocent kittens or something?" You ask playfully, he frowns. "I'd never hurt a animal." You nod, "What about people?" He smirks, "Maybe."
You giggle, "So what, thats why people avoid you because your some crazy murderer?" His smirk drops and his mood seems to have turned sour, "Yeah..." You pause, did you say something wrong? The two of you were just joking around a second ago...
You turn to face forward again, what a strange guy...thankfully the four of you had reached the café. You and Toyomitsu were regulars at this café, it was one of those café's that had private rooms for heroes so you and Toyomitsu could eat in peace without being swarmed by his fans.
Toyomitsu was the first to walk in, "Hellloooo!!" He yelled, the green haired boy followed him in. The ash blond opened the door for you and signaled for you to walk in, you thanked him and stepped inside. He followed and closed the door behind him.
You noticed a old woman making her way over from behind the counter, "Ah! Morning Miss Aiko!" You greeted the elderly lady. She smiled up at you through her big round glasses. "Hello my dear." She greeted back, she grabbed your hand.
"Come you must be seated at once!" She started walking, dragging you along. She walked through the restaurant to the back where the private rooms were located. You and Toyomitsu always sat in the room at the far back, Miss Aiko knew this and would always keep the room open for you.
She reached the private room and slid open the door, letting go of your hand and motioning for you to walk inside. "Please make yourself comfortable! I'll be bringing out my newest cake recipe for you to try so make yourself at home!" You smiled at the woman.
"Thank you so much Misses Aiko!!" She reached up and gently placed her hand on your cheek, "Oh anything for the angel who saved my life!" She turned around and walked towards the kitchen.
You turned around and almost bursted out laughing at the two opposing looks you were getting from the ash blond and green haired boy. The green haired boy had a expression full of excitement and that same curiosity, while the ash blond had a familiar scowl on his face, his eyes glaring at you like you were a unsolved murder or crime he was trying to figure out.
Ignoring their opposing looks however you grabbed both their arms and dragged them inside, Toyomitsu following and sliding the door closed behind you. You walked over and took a seat, the ash blond followed and took a seat next to you. The green haired boy sat in front of you and Toyomitsu sat across the ash blond.
The green haired boy pulled out that same notebook and flipped through it trying to find a specific page. He jumped with excitement once he had found it, you carefully looked over to try and see what the page was, he noticed your curiosity and placed the book down so you could see clearly.
You deadpanned...the page was...about you? The words, 'Epione.' Written in bold on top of the page was the first thing that caught your eye, "Is that...is that supposed to be me?" You ask while pointing to a badly drawn sketch of what looks to be you.
He blushed, but nods. "Yeah..." You look up at him confused and a little creeped out. "Why...?" You ask, his blush deepens. "Oh! Well um...I just think your really cool and your quirk seems so interesting and I admire you, your really well know throughout the heroes as a amazing healer and I'm just really curious about your quirk lik-"
He was interrupted by a loud groan, "Geez give someone else a turn to talk nerd." The boy became flustered, "Oh! Sorry!" You giggle, he actually seems so innocent and light kind of the opposite of the ash blond, their uhh friendship? Whatever it is seems so silly.
"Its fine, I get it people usually are intrigued by my quirk." The boy nodded, blush calming down a little. "Well if you wouldn't mind I'd love to ask some questions and take notes about your quirk." You nod, "I don't mind." But before the boy could ask any questions, the doors slide open.
Miss Aiko walks in holding a tray of drinks and plates of cake. She walks around the table placing down all the drinks and plates of cakes. "Huh? We didn't order?" The ash blond looks down at his drink and cake confused, you laugh as you take a sip from your drink.
"Miss Aiko is good at guessing people's taste, she brings what she thinks you'll enjoy. You can always order something else if you don't like it, but knowing Miss Aiko she's probably got it right."
You watch as the blond cautiously sniffs the drink then placed it to his mouth taking a sip. For a moment you swear you can see his eyes lite up. He places the drink back down, you smirk. "So?" He scoffs and crosses his arms. "Its fine." You giggle, "Just fine?" He glares at you, "Shut up smiley face." You laugh even harder, he was so fun to tease.
"For you my new matcha flavoured cake, I hope its too your liking!" Miss Aiko spoke as she placed down the last plate in front of you, "I'm sure it will be amazing Miss Aiko." She smiles, "Oh your such a angel! You know one of the regulars asked about you the other day, very handsome young man." You blush, you hear Toyomitsu snort.
"Oh! Umm..." You suddenly feel a little uncomfortable, you loved Miss Aiko, but she was very persistent when it came to your love life. "But I told him you were taken, he didn't seem like the one for you." You let out a breath of relief, "Thanks miss Aiko." She giggles, "Your welcome deary." She slid the door closed again, leaving you four alone again.
Toyomitsu clears his throat catching your attention, you look over. "Can I have a bite of your cake L/N?" You nod and slide over the new cake flavour miss Aiko brought out. Toyomitsu picks up a piece with his fork and takes a bite, his face lights up.
"So good!! Miss Aiko is the best." He goes to take another bite, but you stop him. "Hey!! You said a bite not the whole pumpkin thing!" You quickly reach over and pull the cake back too the dismay of Toyomitsu.
You hear a snort coming from next to you, you look over and watch as the blond takes a bite of his cake but his eyes were glued to you. You give him a confused look, he smirks. "Pumpkin?" You blush, "I told you I don't cuss."
"So what you say pumpkin instead?" He teases, you roll your eyes. It was fun when you teased him not the other way around. Turning your attention back too the green haired boy in front of you, you decided you should probably finally ask their names.
"Whats your name?" You ask the green haired boy, he looks up at you. “Oh! Sorry I never introduced myself. My name is Izuku Midoriya.” He gives a smile, you look over at the blond next to you, “And yours?” He scoffs, “You don’t know who I am?” You raise a eyebrow.
“Should I?” He glares, “Yes.” “Well I don’t so tell me.” His glare intensifies, “Figure it our Smiley face.” “You know I can always just keep calling you mister grumpy…” You smirk as you watch him tense up, he eventually caves. “Bakugou Katsuki. Don’t forget it.” You nod, the name was familiar, where have you heard that name before?
“I won’t don’t worry.” You smirk as you see a small blush form on his face from the corner of your eye. Suddenly the ringing of a phone grabs your attention. Toyomitsu sighs as he looks down at his ringing phone.
“I’m sorry L/-“
“Just go.” You give him a smile, you were use to this. He gives you a small nod, “You two should probably go too.” The two males look at you confused, “You know incase? Hero stuff or whatever.” Bakugou glances at Midoriya.
Midoriya sighs, “She’s right, they might need us Kacchan.” You snort at the nickname earning a glare from Bakugou. Bakugou slams 1000 yen note on the table as he gets up,
“See you around Smiley face.”
He speaks as he walks towards the smiling door, Fatgum following. Midoriya gently placed a 1000 yen note on the table on top of Bakugou’s, he then reaches over and places a small paper in front of you. “Please contact me, I would love to actually be able too ask questions about your quirk uninterrupted.” You blush, but smile.
“Ah! Will do Midoriya! Now go!!” He smiles and nods, taking his leave.
You sigh, guess its just you alone again. You look down at your half finished Matcha cake, welp might as well scarve the whole thing down seeing as its just you!
