Summary
Oscar didn’t expect his new job at the mortuary to reveal a strange gift: one touch brings the dead back to life, a second sends them away forever.
On his second day, a beautiful boy ends up on his table—alive again, and impossible to ignore. Falling for him wasn’t part of the plan, but how do you resist when the dead boy in your apartment feels so alive?

oh. oh.
i want to preface this by saying i chose to read this at work and that was a grave mistake. my second grave mistake was missing the MCD tag. yeah. speaks for itself.
there’s nothing to say other than i’m left speechless. the way the author is able to build a connection enough that has me sobbing all in the space of 16k words is actually insane like that’s literature.
like literature. one of the best fics i have ever read. god lando you were so loved. and god my poor boy oscar how do u move on from this.
i’m still sobbing like my mascara is fucked and my eyes are red.
“You didn’t drag me back, you muppet,” Lando replies with a little huff. “I think I wanted to come back. Like I had things I still needed to do.” He pauses for a beat, then lets out a soft laugh. “Maybe this was always meant to happen, hey? You and me, on this tower. Like some fate thing.” DO YOU SEE WHAR I MEAN.
it should have been them. they were meant to be.
oscar went to mt fuji. he went. and landos ashes were scattered there and he didn’t know. the last time they connected. GOD IM JILLING MYSELF -
