Work Text:

Levi was never one for adventures. In fact, he hated them. Especially the ones Hange seemed to drag him into. So when she insisted on this little “scientific” exploration, dragging both him and Erwin to some mystical forest in search of giant, mythical gods, he wasn’t thrilled.

“This better be worth it,” Levi muttered under his breath, adjusting the straps of his gear as he trudged behind the others. “I’ve got better things to do than chase after stories of gods.”

Erwin, who was slightly ahead, gave him a tired look. “You and me both. But you know Hange. Once she has an idea, there’s no stopping her.”

Levi grunted in agreement, though he had a feeling that, much like every other “adventure,” this one would end in frustration.

The forest itself was breathtaking. The trees were massive, their trunks thick and twisted, their branches stretched high into the sky. Vines and thick plants hung down in heavy curtains, the air thick with the scent of nature. Wildlife could be heard, but none were in sight. The forest seemed oddly quiet, as if it was holding its breath, waiting for something—or someone.

Hange bounced ahead, practically vibrating with excitement. “The gods are out here, I can feel it! This is where they’re hiding!”

“Yeah, well, I don’t care about your gods,” Levi muttered, half under his breath. He had seen enough myths and legends to know that most of them were just stories. Or worse, an excuse for people to make fools of themselves.

Erwin, equally tired, adjusted his pack and sighed. “Let’s just hope we don’t end up lost or stuck here for days. I’d rather be anywhere else right now.”

After hours of trekking through the dense forest, the trio finally stopped for a break. Hange was, of course, too excited to rest. “This is it, I can feel it! We’re getting close!”

Levi rolled his eyes, setting his bag down on the ground. “You say that every time, Hange.”

But just as he said that, there was a sudden rustling sound from the trees nearby, followed by an unmistakable deep, low rumble. It felt like the ground itself vibrated in response. Hange immediately straightened, her eyes wide with excitement. “Do you hear that?”

Before anyone could respond, a figure emerged from the trees.

It was unlike anything Levi had ever seen. At least fifteen meters tall, the figure moved with a grace that seemed at odds with its massive form. A god, indeed. The being before them was gentle and delicate in its movements, though the sheer size of it was enough to make the ground tremble with each step.

The god was… breathtaking. With dark, chestnut hair that cascaded down in soft waves, sharp yet soft features, and eyes that gleamed a vibrant turquoise-green, the god’s beauty was otherworldly. The contrast between the sheer size of the god and its ethereal, delicate aura was almost unsettling.

Hange gasped. “There he is! A god!”

The giant god’s gaze turned toward them, and Levi could’ve sworn it locked onto him. A playful glint flickered in the god’s eyes, his lips curving upward into a teasing smile. “You’re quite handsome,” he said, his voice deep and melodic, sending a shiver down Levi’s spine. “I think I would like to marry you.”

Levi froze, a faint blush creeping up his neck. “What?” His voice caught, unable to process what had just happened.

The god tilted his head, inspecting him with keen interest. “Yes, you’re very handsome. Excellent for enabling me to bear plenty of lovely children,” the god continued, his voice carrying a teasing note, as if he found the idea delightful.

Levi’s heart pounded, his face flushing harder than ever. “I— I don’t—”

Hange’s laughter interrupted him. “See, I told you! He’s already taken a liking to you, Levi!” She jumped around in excitement, clearly pleased with herself.

Levi glared at her, his face burning. “Shut up, Hange.”

Erwin, who had been standing there in shock, finally spoke up, though his amusement was evident. “Well, it seems like you’ve made an impression, Levi.”

The god, who hadn’t taken his eyes off Levi, crouched down, lowering his massive frame to their level. “You are absolutely adorable when you are embarrassed,” he purred, his voice a soft rumble.

Levi’s face was so red now it felt like his skin might burn off. “I’m not embarrassed!” he snapped, but it came out weaker than he intended.

And then, without warning, the god’s hands reached down toward him. They were enormous, each finger easily large enough to wrap around Levi’s entire torso. Before Levi could protest, the god gently scooped him up with surprising tenderness, sitting him in the palm of his hand.

Levi’s breath hitched, his mind scrambling as he sat there, completely stunned. “What the hell are you doing?!”

The god just grinned, his smile warm and playful. “How lovely.”

Before Levi could protest further, the god leaned down, pressing his lips softly against Levi’s cheek. Then, as if unable to contain his excitement, the god kissed him again, and again, each one a soft, lingering touch. Levi, unable to do anything but sit there in the god’s massive palm, flushed deeper with every kiss. The god’s lips were warm, soft, and affectionate. Levi didn’t know what to make of it—his mind was a blur of confusion and fluster.

And then, the god purred.

It wasn’t a soft sound—no, it rumbled deep in his chest, vibrating through Levi’s very bones. The god’s eyes gleamed with excitement as he continued to kiss Levi, a playful, almost mischievous glint in his gaze. Each time his lips brushed against Levi’s skin, the purring grew louder, as if the god was enjoying this as much as Levi was… even if Levi wasn’t sure how to feel about it.

Hange and Erwin exchanged a glance, both of them clearly trying to hide their smiles, though they weren’t very successful.

Levi didn’t know whether to be horrified, embarrassed, or… flattered. All he could do was sit there, speechless, as the god kept lavishing him with kisses.

After what felt like an eternity(though it was probably only a few minutes), the god finally pulled back, though his eyes never left Levi. “You’re precious,” he murmured. “I would love for you to stay here with me.”

Levi was still stunned, his body tense and his face burning. “I— I’m not staying here with you. This is ridiculous,” he stammered, even though part of him, buried deep down, couldn’t deny the strange pull he felt toward the god.

The god just smiled again, that playful gleam still in his eyes. “Maybe someday,” he said softly. “Maybe someday you’ll want to come back.”

Levi didn’t know what to say to that, so he just grumbled and tried to get his bearings back. As the god carefully set him down, he was still red in the face, utterly overwhelmed.

By the time they started making their way back toward the village, Levi couldn’t get the god—Eren, he remembered his name now—out of his mind. The massive figure, his gentle nature, and the teasing words still echoed in his thoughts.

Hange was practically skipping along ahead, practically glowing with excitement. “I told you! I knew it! You’re going to be married to a god, Levi!”

Levi rubbed his forehead in frustration. “I’m not marrying anyone,” he muttered. “Especially not a god.”

Erwin, who had been quiet for a while, shot a teasing look at Levi. “Well, he did say you were very handsome. And that he wanted to carry your children.”

Levi groaned, wishing for the earth to open up and swallow him whole.

Hange spun around again, her eyes practically sparkling. “Oh, Levi, don’t be so modest. I can already see it: you’ll be the god of the forest, ruling by Eren’s side.”

“Not happening,” Levi muttered under his breath.

“Don’t be so sure,” Erwin teased.

Levi just sighed heavily, knowing it was useless to argue. For now, he was content to focus on getting out of the forest, away from this ridiculous adventure. But somewhere in the back of his mind, a strange curiosity lingered about the god who had taken such an interest in him.
