Work Text:
Shoto was sleeping peacefully, his head relaxed onto Iida's shoulder as Iida happily watched T.V.
“Todoroki, Todoroki, quick!” Iida exclaimed, before Shoto woke up immediately, sitting straight.
“Hello, Todoroki and Iida,” Yaoyoruzu waved gently as she headed over to the kitchen.
“Hello, Yaoyoruzu,” replied Iida calmly, before he breathed a sigh of relief and shifted his body so he sat more comfortably onto the couch.
“Thank you, Iida,” whispered Shoto into Iida’s ear appreciatively.
Iida nodded affirmatively, giving Shoto a thumbs up.
The two of them headed over to Shoto’s room, where no one would disturb them.
Shoto held both of Iida’s hands, as they both sat on the carpeted floor.
“Are you sure it’s alright for us to keep our relationship a secret?” Shoto inquired. “I don't want to pressure you to do something you don’t want to,”
Iida shook his head immediately. “Not at all, Todoroki. I respect your decision one hundred percent. You shouldn’t tell people something you’re not comfortable with sharing.” Iida stroked the side of Shoto’s head gently.
Shoto smiled, before kissing him gently on the lips.
“Wanna hang out together?” Shoto suggested, getting up and lifting his hand out towards Iida, Iida grabbed his hand with a soft smile on his face.
“Of course.” He nodded, before leaving the bedroom, hand in hand.

They step foot into the grande shopping mall, with the bright sun shining down onto the transparent ceiling.
“There’s good weather today,” said Shoto.
Iida hummed in agreement. “Kind of reminds me of you.”
“What, how?” Shoto turned to face Iida, who was staring at the blue sky in a daze.
“They’re both beautiful.”
A smile appeared on Shoto’s face, as they headed over to the shopping mall's second floor.
“I’ve thought of an idea,” said Shoto, his tone slightly more bright than usual.
Iida cocked his head in confusion, then adjusted his glasses.
“What?” he asked, as they both stood on the escalators.
“I’ve heard that people do gift exchanges, I’ve always wanted to do one… but I’ve had no one to do it with. Would you… want to do one with me?”
“Why would I not want to? I love you,” said Iida, cupping Shoto’s cheeks and gave him a passionate kiss.
So Shoto was off, trying to find the best possible gift for the person he loved most.
He headed into an expensive jewelry shop, where lots of wealthy looking people were looking and the enchanting diamond necklaces and all sorts of stuff. The room shone with a shimmering gold type wallpaper, with lights so bright it could blind someone.
And something had happened to catch Shoto’s eye. It was a matching bracelet, with half a heart on one of the bracelets while the other bracelet had the missing half of the heart.
It was pricey, but it would look beautiful on Iida.
He then headed over to a small crafts shop and picked out some suitable wrapping paper.
“Which one should I pick…?” Shoto mumbled, rubbing his chin with indecisive thoughts.
“Todoroki!” He turned to face the direction from where the voice came from and was greeted with Bakugo and Midoriya.
“Oh, hey guys.” Shoto waved.
“What are you doing here?” Midoriya asked in excitement, as Bakugo gave him a dirty look.
“I’m looking for some wrapping paper,” replied Shoto flatly. “What about you? What are you doing here?”
“Oh, well me and Kacchan were just hanging out… and then I saw something that looked pretty cool. It would probably help me sort out some of my All Might merch!” he chuckled. “Oh, do you need help picking some wrapping paper out?” Midoriya offered, before Bakugo stopped him.
“Icy Hot can find one himself, or are you so dumb you can’t even pick one out?” Bakugo growled, before dragging Midoriya out of the store.
“Sorry, Todoroki! See you later!” Midoriya yelled out.
Shoto chuckled to himself, before focusing back onto the wrapping paper.
“I wonder why Todoroki was looking for wrapping paper… He normally doesn’t give presents…” he heard Midoriya say softly in the distance.
It was kind of funny how people predicted who Shoto liked, or had a crush on.
Shoto sighed before deciding to pick a dark blue wrapping paper.
He decided he was going to wrap it immediately, so he headed over to the crowded food court, and placed all of his items onto the table.
He tried to wrap it in many ways, but… It looked so scruffy. Shoto wanted to make it perfect for Iida, but it didn’t look tidy or neat at all.
“Hey, Todoroki! What are you doing?” He heard Ashido’s voice from behind him. She was with Uraraka, Tsuyu and Hagakure.
Lots of people are hanging out with their friends today, Shoto thought before waving towards them.
“Hey, guys,” said Shoto. “I’m trying to wrap this up for someone, but it’s not working out very well,” Shoto sighed, before he stared down at his fingers which had several papercuts sprawled across his pale skin.
“Oh, do you want us to help you?” Uraraka chimed in, her index finger sticking upwards.
Shoto shook his head immediately. “No, thanks though. I want to do it myself, the person this is for is very special to me. I want to put all my effort into this.” Shoto didn’t even realize but a light smile had spread across his face just from the thought of Iida.
Before he even realized it, Ashido and her whole friend group gave each other a knowing look.
“Okay… Well, see you later, Todoroki!” Ashido waved off before heading in the opposite direction.

Shoto lifted up the gift and started at it. It didn’t look so bad, it only had a few corners sticking out. But overall, Shoto was proud of himself.
“Todoroki!” he heard Iida yell towards him, with a big basket in his hands, which was filled so tightly that there wasn’t a centimeter left of space.
“Oh, hey, Iida,” said Shoto lightly.
“I’ve got your gift ready. Who wants to go first?” Iida asked.
“Could… I go first?” Shoto asked, as Iida nodded.
“Well, I had a few troubles wrapping it… But if you don’t like it, I can-“ Shoto began, before Iida grabbed his waist and pressed their lips together.
“Stop it, Todoroki. It’s perfect. You’re perfect,” Iida reassured before opening up the gift.
He lifted up the two bracelets as his eyes widened and then embraced Shoto in a warm hug.
“It’s perfect,” Iida whispered before sliding the bracelet onto his wrist, then sliding it onto Shoto's wrist.
“Todoroki!” Iida gasped, as he lifted Shoto’s hands in worry.
“Hm, what is it?”
“Your hands, what happened to them?” he said worringly, staring deep into Shoto’s eyes.
“Oh, the wrapping paper gave me a few paper cuts, but I’m fine, don’t worry,” comforted Shoto, as Iida hugged him tight.
“Be more careful next time,” Iida whispered as he parted from Shoto.
Iida handed him the pastel themed basket, with little bows and ribbons all over it. Shoto really appreciated it.
“I wasn’t sure what exactly you wanted, so I got them all for you…” Iida chuckled nervously, as Shoto gasped and rummaged through all of the stuff he got him. A flower bouquet, some chocolates, decoration for his room, soba and a card that read:
To Todoroki,
You are one of the greatest people I’ve ever met, and I hope to be as amazing as you when I grow older. You’re such a great role model to me, Class 1A and probably many more people. Although you don’t express it very well, you’re so kind and caring to others around you. I hope you never change.
I love you, Todoroki. I hope I stay by your side forever.
-Love, Tenya.
Shoto jumped onto Iida, making him take a few steps backwards, and pressed his forehead onto Iida’s, Shoto’s arms were wrapped around Iida’s neck and Iida’s hands were around Shoto’s waist.
Shoto pressed their lips together, and all Shoto could think about was how much he loved Iida. His love for him transcends words.
Their lips intertwined with each other, shifting their mouths’ together like a missing jigsaw piece. The world vanished around them, and Shoto could feel his heart beating rapidly, as he could occasionally feel Iida’s warm tongue brush against Shoto’s cold lips.
As they parted, they stared at each other warmly, Shoto has never felt this happy before.
“I’m ready,” Shoto whispered.
“For what?”
“To tell Class 1A we’re dating. I shouldn’t be ashamed of you, because I love you so much.”
Iida laughed lightly, before diving into another burning kiss.

“So, why did you gather us all, Iida?” Midoriya asked, before Iida held Shoto’s hand, as Shoto nodded affirmatively. Their bracelets dangled, and they both suited the bracelets so, so well.
“Me and Todoroki are dating,” said Iida flatly.
…
“We already knew that! You guys are so obsessed with each other!” Ashido squealed.
“Why would you ever want to keep your relationship a secret anyways?” Hagakure asked.
“I’m not sure, actually. I don’t know why I’d ever want to keep my love for Iida a secret-“
“Ew! Don’t say anything, I don’t want to see you guys being all lovey dovey again!” Ashido waved her hands in the air, trying to cover the image of him and Iida.

Shoto was resting onto Iida’s shoulder in the living room, casually watching T.V.
Yaoyoruzu had entered the room to grab the book she had forgotten.
“You guys are so cute together, congratulations on your relationship though!” she smiled, as she exited the room.
Iida chuckled lightly before holding onto Shoto’s chin and kissed him.
