Work Text:
It’s been a bad day. All I want is to be curled up in eddies arms safe and warm, but no I’m stuck here at this damn call center listening to this women complain about Verizon. “Ma’am you are aware this is 911, right?” I ask as gently as I can.
“Yes, I’m aware and I’m telling you this is an emergency dipshit.” I sigh, and look at my watch. Three more hours to my shift. Damnit.
“This is not an emergency ma’am.”
“I want to speak to your supervisor.” I wave Josh over and he listens in and hangs up for me. I hold my head in my hands.
“Are you ok?” He asks, placing his hand on my shoulder.
“Peachy,” he nods and walks away.
By the time my shift is done I just want to curl up in eddies arms forever. I wheel myself to my car and once I get in and get my wheelchair in the back seat I drive to the house I live in with Eddie.
Nothing happens until he gets home and when he does I’m curled up in bed my face burried in the pillow and burrowed under the covers like a ground hog. “Hey,” he says when he sees me.
“Hi,” I respond back as he lays down next to me and pulls me into his arms. And we fall asleep like that.
