“All the product sorted out?” Cassandra asked, walking with her two most trusted friends to their destination. The agreed-on location for the deal was in a run-down warehouse, in the dead of night. There was graffiti on it, several being tags while others were random scribblings people made. Seems like whoever owned this place never bothered reclaiming it.
“Yep. Two full bags.” Hanzo replied, raising one of the bags for her to see. Full of some product they acquired, off a different gang they’d just gotten rid of.
“Good. Don’t want them to try and get back at us because they thought we stiffed them.” Cassandra said as they got to the abandoned warehouse, an open door present for them to use. She took the bags while Hanzo went in first, prepared to meet up with the ‘customers’.
“Alucard, keep an eye on the doors. If there’s anyone waiting to ambush us, I want them gone.” She ordered the other person present, who nodded.
“Got it. Leave it to me.” Alucard said, going to check the windows and perimeter. Cassandra stays back with Hanzo for a few minutes, letting Alucard make sure no one’s waiting to ambush the trio. He then shows back up and gives them a thumbs-up to signal it’s clear, prompting the two to enter the warehouse – Alucard staying outside to keep watch.
Up ahead, Cassandra could see someone waiting – accompanied by three other guys. One of their rivals, the Ghetto Boys. Rowdy jerks, but they came to the Goth Punks with an offer. They’d been informed of Cassandra and her gang’s recent activities, and wanted to make a deal.
As the redhead came to the deal table, she put the bags of product down. Staring the guy opposite her dead in the eye, crossing her arms.
“Well, took ya long enough. Had to take care of your makeup or somethin’?” The ‘negotiator’ said, quickly insulting Cassandra at the first chance he got.
“Cut it. We got what you asked for, now keep up your end of the bargain. We had an agreement, didn’t we?” She replied, not taking any of his shit.
“’Course, course. Cash as always, right? Not like I can write ya a check or whatever and you can just deposit that.” The other guy said, chuckling. “I gotta check first, of course. Can’t have you two-timin’ us, unless you wanna end up getting bagged and tagged.” He added, grabbing one of the product bags. Cassandra squinted at him in suspicion, not liking how casual it is for him to threaten her like that.
“I ain’t the kind to two-time anyone, unlike you. And besides, if anything of that sort breaks out, we aren’t the ones ending up black bagged.” She said, returning the threat while the guy looks through the bags. She could see the other three guys looking around, almost like they’ve got something planned.
“Please, against us? Tough shit. A pretty bitch like you wouldn’t be able to stand a chance!” He said, zipping up the bag. True to Cassandra’s words, it’s all accounted for in there. “Anyway, since you’ve got the real stuff… We’ll just take it off your hands.” He said. Cassandra’s instincts are set off by that insult though, and she isn’t satisfied.
“If you’re taking it, show the cash first. We aren’t leaving here without it.” She demanded, able to hold off from yelling in his face about it. She can see out of the corner of her eye – the three guys behind the negotiator are getting ready for something.
“Oh, you ain’t leaving here at all, bitch. This is our turf and we don’t gotta pay you shit.” He said. The negotiator’s gunmen moved further up behind him, guns ready. “Blast ‘em!” He shouted, signalling for the other guys to start firing as he ducked. Three shots rang out, only they didn’t hit the mark he had hoped for.
“…Poor choice of words, pal.” Cassandra said. When the negotiator looked up, he saw what happened: all three of his backup were dead in the span of seconds. Cassandra had gunned them down with demonic precision.
“…What the fuck!?” He said, standing up while facing away from Cassandra. As soon as he turned around, he found himself staring down the barrel of her gun. “Hey, chill, chill!” He shouted in a panic, raising his hands. “I-I got the cash for real, honest!”
“And what makes you think I’ll believe you after that trick you just pulled? Double-crossing me was the worst idea your gang ever thought of.” She said, gun still trained on his head. After those insults, she wasn’t taking any chances with him.
“I-it wasn’t my idea! I just got told to do it! Honest!” He said, acting all cowardly. Cassandra just scoffed, looking like she’s about to pull the trigger… “U-under the table! Two bags, cash! Just t-take it!” He begged.
“Hanzo, check it. I’m not taking my gun off this guy’s skull.” Cassandra spoke, Hanzo doing it quick. Two bags were underneath the table, full of bundled up cash.
“Yeah, he wasn’t lying. Enough cash to pay for it.” He said. Cass finally pulled her gun up, sticking it back underneath her jacket.
“Good choice on not lying. Otherwise you’d have been breathing through another hole in your head.” She said, the guy taking multiple deep breaths. “What you will get through your skull though, is to tell your other homies or whatever you call them. If you value your life and your territory, do not fuck with the Goth Punks..” Cassandra said, giving him a demand.
“Y-yeah, g-g-got it… C-can I go yet?” He asked, getting an eyeroll from the redhead.
“Run off before I change my mind. And leave the product, we’re keeping it.” She replied, watching as the other guy ran off. He left his homies’ bodies behind, instead getting into a car and driving off immediately.
“These chucklefucks… Thinking they can get away with doublecrossing us.” Cassandra said, grabbing one of the bags of cash. “When are they gonna learn not to bullshit us?” She thought aloud, walking off – Hanzo following suit.
“Probably when they’re six feet under.” He said, Cassandra letting out a snicker. Alucard meets up with them outside the warehouse, having been on watch the whole time.
“No one else around the place. Heard the shots though, what happened?” He asked, turning to the open door Cassandra left behind.
“They tried to pull a fast one on us. About to start shooting, but I got to them first.” She said. “They better take this as a lesson not to try anything for a while.” Cass added.
“What about that last guy though? Why’d you keep him alive?” Hanzo asked, having wondered it since he ran off.
“Someone’s gotta let the others know what happened. Best to let one live so the rest get the idea.” Cassandra replied, a rather bitter tone in her voice.
“Huh. If I was in that situation, I woulda just shot him too. Wouldn’t be hard.” Alucard said, now also getting an eyeroll from the redhead.
“And that’s why you’re not the leader.” She said, chuckling. “Unlike you two, I know how to keep our operation running. Plus, I’m one of the few who wouldn’t wanna blow all the cash on hookers and crack.” Cass added. Thinking of some others in her gang, mostly the louts who just stick around for the hell of it.
“Come on, we ain’t that bad. Crack’s too risky, weed’s better.” Alucard said, Cassandra stopping herself from smacking him over the head.
“Not the point… Just, go back in there and grab the product. Me and Hanzo have the cash already.” She said, raising the bag in her grasp. “Let’s get out of here before the cops pull up. Don’t wanna deal with them while we’ve got the advantage.” Cass continued, Alucard simply following along.
The three soon left, heading back to the truck they pulled up in. Tonight’s deal didn’t go as intended, but hey – a haul’s a haul.
