“Sal dated Ashley?” Travis asked.
“Oh, yeah. It was a long time ago, though. I think the summer before sophomore year, so nothing for you to worry about.” Todd’s eyes remained glued to his computer screen when he made this remark. He had, evidently, forgotten who he was talking to.
“What?” Travis questioned, his eyebrows furrowing together in an irked expression.
Todd didn’t answer. Instead, he continued working on whatever he was working on, typing at a rate that seemed impossibly fast to Travis.
“Hey, what does that mean?” Travis asked once again, this time with a bit more force.
“Hmm?” hummed Todd, “What does what mean?”
“You said it’s ‘nothing for me to worry about.’ What do you mean by that?”
Todd abruptly quit typing and folded his hands in his lap as he realized his mistake. He spun around in his swivel chair to face Travis.
