Work Text:
How long has it been?
You think back to the memories you regained. A desert, a llama, a king, a fight.
A mountain, a wizard, a horse, a life.
A bond, a cookie, a panda, a secret.
A family, a bridge, a doormat, a betrayal.
They all included one man. G?
You think of him. You like him. You really like him.
His voice, his warmth, his wings, his laugh. His cute little smile.
You miss him.
💚💛❤️
You stare at the book in your hand. Win Secret Life.
You had won, why are you still trapped here? Pressing the succeed button over and over again at the tall gray statue. The button is now broken.
You recall the past winners. The first one was G.
You and G used to be allies in the desert. He meant more to you than a friend.
You remember sacrificing yourself to him.
For everything you did to me to keep me alive for this long, you may slay me and take the enchanter.
You. You. You.
You remember. You fought. You cried. You apologized. You died.
You are going insane.
💚💛❤️
In the second game, G tricked you for your valuables. A life.
He hung ‘your’ horse over lava for another life.
He threatened to kill you for another life.
In the third, he cheated on you. He was rude to you, blaming you for everything.
In the fourth, he betrayed you.
In every game, he told everyone not to trust you.
Yet despite all that, he cared. He made sure you aren’t hurt. He made sure you’re eating well.
He seeked out you for company. He made you laugh. He thinks you’re funny.
He trusted you.
He wanted to make an alliance with you. Everytime, you said yes. This time you said no. He left.
Despite all that he still loved you. He didn’t. He didn’t. You think he didn’t.
You would like to meet him. You forgot everything about him.
💚💛❤️
You traded with everyone since the first game. He told everyone not to trust you, yet he encouraged you to trade with others even more. To speak your way out of any difficult situation.
Are we allies or enemies? This will be the death of me. (It was the death of you.)
You remembered every time G would get mad at you, would scold you. But seconds later, he would crack. Then you’d both be laughing in the end. He wasn’t so quick to forget after the first game.
In Secret Life, you two took your seperate roads. But you want to be with him, not away.
You feel lovelorn.
💚💛❤️
You walked through the sunflower fields of Secret Life. You had time to rebuild Trader Scar’s again. You fixed Bdubs’ Earth. It looks like it was never burnt down. You even built all four of the Mounders’ houses on either sides of the Earth.
You reconstructed Joel’s ferris wheel. And G’s egg.
You spend most of your time in the egg. It’s the only thing you have left of him. You hate that the bedsheets are starting to smell like you instead of him.
You plan to collect the sunflower seeds today.
With a whoosh, a shadow person appeared at the Secret Keeper statue. Again.
The shadow people aren’t nice. You hate them. They laugh at you and hurt you.
You just want to collect the seeds in peace.. Not get chased down.
💚💛❤️
“Scar? Are you.. here?” The shadow person whispered.
They were nice. They said their name was G.
Ha. That’s nice.
“How do you know my name…?” Your voice quivered. None of the ghost people ever knew your name.
“Um..” The ghost person looked startled, almost as if you were supposed to know who they were. “That’s.. besides the point. Do you want to get out of here?”
You stood dumbfounded, “I.. I can get out of here!?”
“Come with me.” He prevaricates.
You had been disconsolate, sure that you’re stuck, forever unable to escape. But now, with a chance, you aren’t going to give it up, even though you’re unsure you can trust the shadow person.
💚💛❤️
You woke up on top of an azalea bush on an island surrounded by boats and.. 17 very familiar people. You recognize them, yet know nothing about them. All 18 of you formed a circle.
Opposite from you was the shadow person you saw in Secret Life. Although, they.. he looked more human? He looked like G.
You wonder what his actual name is.
He stared at you for a second before looking away. He looked everywhere but at you . Then, without warning, he spoke to everyone in the circle.
“Welcome to Wild Life!”
