A Wolf's Bite

Summary:

Being coerced into attending the Rave'n wasn't Wednesday's ideal evening. Nor was her 'date', but upon seeing a certain blonde wolf and her attire, the evening becomes more interesting.

_

Despite the unlikelihood of it happening, Enid had hoped to see Wednesday grace the dance floor of the Rave'n and finally admit her feelings for her, but her momentary surprise upon seeing her is quickly dimmed when she sees her roommates choice in date, as well as Wednesday's obvious discomfort.

Aka pushy barista's should not anger Werewolves, even ones who haven't wolfed out.

Notes:

Another fic I took down but have reuploaded, with some edits.

As said when I originally posted this, it was rushed.

Work Text:

Wednesday was suffering.

And not in a fun way.

She had been unable to continue her investigation due to the unexpected arrival of Tyler and the insistence on attending the Rave’n dance, an act that had been facilitated by Thing’s meddling in some foolish attempt to pay matchmaker.

He could have at least chosen someone more suitable.

Tyler was seemingly incapable of accepting her lack of affection or desire for him, outside of a begrudging social platonic relationship and if stretched, a potential ally in her investigation due to the connections and openings that could be made with his father, the sheriff.

But Wednesday did not have any desires or romantic feelings for the barista and his constant attempts to try and garner them only served to make her less inclined to spend time with him at all. Not to mention he wouldn’t stop touching her, despite numerous threats against his person he would seemingly shrug it off or think she was joking.

The fact she was on court ordered therapy and oversight by Weems, as well as again Tyler’s father being the sheriff were the only thing that had so far stayed her hand.

Not that she wouldn’t follow through on her desires to render him unconscious or worse, but it would make things more difficult and slow down her goals and pursuit of the truth surrounding the mysteries she found herself entangled in.

As Tyler once again grabbed her wrist and pulled her through the crowd, Wednesday squeezed her hand tight enough that she almost drew blood, the sensation of his hand on her flesh sending waves of discomfort washing over her.

If she did cut into her palms with her nails, it would be a pleasant relief in comparison.

As Tyler continued to drone on Wednesday mind and eyes began to wander, as she searched throughout the crowd for a familiar face.

She found Yoko over by the punchbowl, the vampire holding two cups in her hands as she looked like she was waiting for someone, Wednesday deduced it was either Bianca or Enid. Earlier in the afternoon Enid had gone to Yoko’s room to prepare for the evening, and Wednesday hadn’t seen her since.

She knew she was coming alone tonight, at least date wise. As she’d turned down the advances of the mayor’s son and of the oblivious Gorgan Ajax, Enid having explained this time in explicit detail that she didn’t like men that way, her previous attempts to let him down gently seemingly having gone over his head.

Or maybe he was too high, or both.

Wednesday had offered to amputate several of the snake’s that made up his hair if it would help get the point across, but Enid had turned her down on it as she insisted he didn’t deserve mutilation for being stupid, or oblivious.

Wednesday disagreed but relented nonetheless.

She found herself increasingly obedient to the Wolf’s whims and requests. A part of her didn’t like this growing submission, while another part of her didn’t mind and almost …craved it.

Her eyes suddenly widened and her pace stopped, even Tyler’s grip on her couldn’t uproot her as she took in a sight that made her mind go blank.

Yoko had indeed been waiting for Enid, the blonde having returned to her side and accepted the offered drink. But it wasn’t her mere re-appearance that caused Wednesday’s reaction.

Enid was dressed in a way Wednesday had not seen before from her, gone was the pastel cardigans and sweaters or the bright colored collection she usually wore. Enid was instead wearing a light salmon pink three piece suit, complete with a egg shell blue dress shirt beneath the vest, and a pair of matching pink dress shoes which had only the slightest heel on them.

Wednesday even noted the perfectly tied Christensen knot of the necktie Enid was sporting, not a common enough sight but surprisingly fitting, it showed dedication and skill.

The attire was captivating, it was magnetic and alluring.

It was perfect.

Enid was perfect.

She wore the suit so seamlessly like she’d always had it on, and not to mention she had styled her hair differently, the normally loose blonde hair that hung to the sides of her face had now been obviously coated in some product and styled and combed up and around, while her signature colored sections were slicked back and framed her temples and back around to the base of her skull.

Wednesday found her breathing hitch in her throat as she saw Enid laughing at something Yoko said, the look of happiness that had become increasingly desirable to witness for Wednesday on full display.

Another aspect she found worrying but alluring, she wanted to see Enid happy. She wanted to see her smile and to be free of any worries and fears that may affect her.

She also wanted to murder Esther Sinclair, but again Enid had soothed her desires with a few calming words. Esther didn't deserve a daughter as kind as Enid.

She was pulled from her thoughts, literally as Tyler pulled her towards the dance floor, causing her to close her eyes momentarily and let out a groan.

Tonight was not going to be enjoyable.

Enid had returned from the bathroom to find Yoko had gotten her a drink, thanking her friend for it she sipped from the cup as they made small talk as the vampire waited for her girlfriend to show.

“So, wishing you’d just asked her out yet?” Yoko inquired as she turned to the blonde, causing Enid to face her.

“I just…couldn’t. I was going to head back to our dorm after getting dressed, but I chickened out.” Enid said with a sigh, glancing down into her cup. “Some Alpha I am…”

“Hey! That’s your Mom talking, we don’t need that bitch’s sentiments ruining the mood.” Yoko said as Enid took another sip.

Enid had presented as an Alpha shortly after her thirteenth birthday and had been expected to shift and wolf out to complete her ascension and attain a proper place among her pack and family.

But instead she’d remained unchanged, even now after all the years that followed she hadn’t fully shifted. Simply retained a few wolfish traits such as her claws, her enhanced senses which still paled to a fully shifted wolf, strength that also while impressive to normies didn’t come close to what she could achieve if she had wolfed out yet.

It seemed as though she would never fully shift, and thus would never truly claim Alpha status. Her mother called her a disappointment, a failure, a disgrace to the family name.

And it was hard not to let those words weigh down on her when they would come up whenever she was feeling down.

Her recent desires and wishes to confess her feelings to her roommate had been another failure on her part.

Yes, she had feelings for Wednesday Addams.

The dark seer had wormed her way into Enid’s heart despite ostensibly others looking on would question how or why she would fall for her.

But Wednesday had still won her over, despite Enid not thinking she would definitely find her mate at Nevermore, besides a potential highschool romance, she now hoped and wished that the young Addams would fill that empty place in her heart.

If only she could work up the courage to confess to her.

“How do you think she would have reacted?” Yoko asked before continuing.

‘Don’t be ridiculous Sinclair, I wouldn't be caught dead attending such a trivial showcase of teenage hormonal grandstanding that is just a thinly veiled excuse for seeking carnal satisfaction.’ Yoko drawled out flat, in an imitation of Wednesday’s voice.

Despite herself Enid couldn’t help but let out a laugh, her eyes shutting as she heard Yoko join her. It may not have been the best thing to do, enjoying an imitation of her desired mate, but she could definitely imagine Wednesday saying those exact words.

As Enid finished off her drink she was going to go and get a refill when her eyes spied a surprising sight, causing her mouth to fall open.

Yoko followed her gaze upon seeing her expression and her own eyes widened behind her sunglasses.

“Oh damn!” Yoko said.

“Wow…” Enid said as she saw Wednesday across the dance floor.

She was dressed in a dress that was a more antiquated style but at the same time it was so Wednesday, the black dress fitting her image perfectly, as well as her hair having been styled to have her braids upturned and tied back.

“I literally didn’t think she’d show tonight, I thought she was busy and-Wait!” Enid began before she changed her tone mid sentence upon seeing who was gripping Wednesday’s wrist.

Tyler Galpin…

What was he doing here!?

While Normie guests weren’t banned from attending the Rave’n, they were still a rare sight. She knew a few Sirens and even vampires had invited a few non-bigoted people to the event, but they were still only a handful in comparison.

But the fact she had brought Tyler?

Enid had never heard Wednesday say anything that sounded like she was even remotely interested in the guy besides a maybe reluctant platonic interaction, and she knew his dad was the sheriff and Wednesday had mentioned a possible in there.

Was that what this was? Ingratiating herself to him?

No Wednesday wouldn’t do that, wouldn’t sink so far as to leverage herself in such a way.

Enid’s eyes narrowed however and her hands clenched at her sides, crushing the plastic cup in her grip as she took in the sight with greater detail.

Namely the grip he had on Wednesday’s arm.

The grip that was clearly unwarranted and unappreciated given the expression she noticed on the dark haired girl’s face. Enid’s eyesight along with the fact she’d been rooming with Wednesday for months now enabled her to pick up on the micro-expressions and changes in her appearance that denoted her displeasure.

Even without enhanced senses it was clear she was not enjoying the physical contact or being dragged around like that.

“Someone’s unhappy.” Yoko said and Enid was about to agree when she saw Yoko was looking at her before she waved across and in Wednesday's direction.

“Go on, go save your girl.”

“She’s not-” Enid began before she saw Tyler now trying to get Wednesday onto the dance floor, but the seer offered resistance as they stood on the sidelines.

Without a second thought she sprang into action and began marching over across the room, her steps growing faster as she nearly parted the crowds single handedly as she approached them.

“Come on it’s not going to kill you to have one dance.” she heard him say to Wednesday.

“I’d be more worried about you.” Enid said, causing them to both turn in her direction. She saw surprise in Tyler’s eyes while Wednesday’s own widened at the sight of her.

“What do you want?” Tyler asked.

“What do I want? What I want is for you to let go of my roommate, she’s not some ragdoll for you to drag around like a child.” Enid replied, her gaze shifting to Wednesday’s.

“And besides, she’s clearly uncomfortable with you doing that. And if she doesn’t want to dance with you, she doesn’t have to” Enid added firmly, itching to grab his arm and physically rip it off Wednesday’s.

Her instincts desired to simply rip his arm off anyway.

Tyler sent her an annoyed look before responding.

“Why don’t you mind your own business. This doesn't have anything to do with you, and besides I’m only asking her to dance, it’s no big deal”

Enid’s lips twitched as she suppressed a snarl, again seeing Wednesday’s wide eyed gaze focused on her.

“You’re clearly blind, or stupid to not see she’s not comfortable with what you’re doing. And as her friend, and roommate I think it is my business” Enid said, barely reigning herself in.

“I’m just trying to get her to come out of her shell a bit, she’d like it if she just gave it a chance.” Tyer replied, causing Enid to grit her teeth.

“Stop talking about her like she’s not in the room, and stop trying to force her to comply with whatever stalkery fantasies you’ve got in your head, and you better let her go in the next five seconds if you know what’s good for you.” Enid demanded.

Her claws were practically throbbing to be released.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about” Tyler said before scoffing at her. “What? Couldn’t get a date yourself so you’re bothering people that did.”

He then tried to pull Wednesday further away from Enid, and that’s when she snapped.

In a flash of movement Enid had grabbed Tyler by the lapels of his jacket and lifted him up off the ground, proceeding to barrel across the floor and up to one of the tables and slamming him against it.

Her claws were out and tore into the material of his jacket as a growl erupted from her throat.

“Let me make one thing perfectly clear, Wednesday isn’t your property! She’s got no interest and no desire in someone as pathetic as you! And if I ever so much as see you try and touch her again, I’ll rip out your throat and feast on your entrails!” Enid exclaimed, her voice guttural as her canines were now fully extended as she held him up off the ground once more and proceeded to toss him aside onto the floor with no effort.

Enid took several breaths as she saw Tyler try to get up, after multiple attempts finally doing so.

“You think I’m scared of you? You’re nothing but-” he began only to let out a cry of pain as his arm was suddenly wrenched around and behind his back, courtesy of Yoko who now held his shoulder in her other hand.

“I think it’s time for you to go, unless you want to end up Werewolf chow. Which honestly is pretty tempting.” Yoko said before forcibly moving the young man away from the crowd and to the exit, his feeble attempts at escaping Yoko’s vampire strength were laughably ineffective. Enid saw Yoko before she moved out of sight and nodded her head back near Enid with a smile before the young wolf caught the familiar scent of her roommate.

Turning she saw Wednesday standing there, the same wide eyed expression still on her face. But Enid could see the most minute coloring rise on her normally pale cheeks.

“W-Willa, I’m sorry!” Enid said quietly, the atmosphere around them returning to normal as students resumed the festivities.

“I know you’re not some damsel in distress, and I know you can handle yourself but…but he was just getting on my nerves treating you like that, and I know you’ve said before how you weren’t interested in his advances, and I just couldn't help myself. If I saw him touching you like that for another second I would have torn him apart with my bare hands!” Enid exclaimed, her babbling slowly growing more intense as she gritted her teeth.

“Enid…” Wednesday said suddenly, cutting the blonde off as she looked at the smaller girl.

“I’m not offended. While normally I would find such an unsolicited act to be patronizing and unnecessary in defending my honor,  I…appreciate what you did for me.” Wednesday said in a quiet tone.

Enid could see Wednesday’s eyes shift and begin to take in her form.

“I also must admit, seeing you in such a state…the aggression…the confidence…the conviction and truth behind your words in regards to my feelings, not to mention the impressive display of physical strength”

As Wednesday spoke, Enid couldn’t help but pick up on the growing color in her cheeks once more, as well as her breathing speeding up, her eyes also continued to wander over her form with what Enid was shocked to see was…desire?

Did…Did Wednesday…

“Also I have to admit, your current attire is very…appealing.”

Those words were enough for Enid to step into Wednesday's space, not taking hold of her so soon after dismissing Tyler for similar actions despite how much she wanted to wrap her arms around her.

“Wednesday,” Enid said.

“Yes…”

“Tell me if I’m wrong, but are you…do you…” Enid began before she steeled herself. Her previous confidence returned as she reached up and placed her hands gently on Wednesday’s shoulders.

“I wanted to ask you to the dance tonight, not as a friend, but as my date” She said as she looked back into Wednesday’s eyes, her darker orbs meeting Enid’s own blue as she continued to speak.

“I’ve been wanting to express my feelings for you for a while now, but I was too scared. But seeing Tyler treat you that way tonight just made me snap, I couldn’t stand the sight of him touching you like that, knowing you didn’t like it.”

“I didn’t…” Wednesday said softly, seemingly half paying attention to Enid’s words as she continued to stare back into her eyes.

“Do you feel uncomfortable when I touch you?” Enid asked as she lowered her hands from her shoulders and slid her hands down till the fabric of Wednesday’s dress gave way to smooth pale flesh of her arms, she could feel the shiver it elicited.

“Enid, out of everyone in this school or beyond there is no one right now or in any foreseeable future that I would rather have holding me in their arms.” Wednesday said, and while her tone was still quiet there was a conviction to it that made Enid’s heart flutter.

Bringing Wednesday closer to her in an embrace, she took in her scent fully, her nose moving around in little circles in the air as she took in Wednesday’s natural fragrance that had been enhanced with only soap and a light coating of natural ingredient body lotion.

“You smell so good…” she said as she felt Wednesday move closer till their chests were touching, Enid could feel the shorter girl’s heart pounding in her chest matching her own.

Wednesday’s hand came up till she was touching Enid’s cheek, the small gesture shifting as her thumb came up to rub against Enid’s lip, opening it and poking lightly at her canines.

“Such beautiful fangs.”

Enid couldn’t help but grin as she exposed her teeth fully, no doubt giving Wednesday a show.

“I’m tempted to make a big bad wolf joke but that would be corny.”

“Big, yes. But one as perfect as you could never be considered bad, and if anyone in this world were to say anything to the contrary they’d find their live cut significantly shorter.”

Again the conviction and strength behind her words made Enid’s heart flutter as she pulled Wednesday closer, swaying her slightly to the sound of the slow dance in the background.

“Willa…did we just…are we official?” She asked as she felt Wednesday rest her head on her shoulder.

“If you want,” Wednesday said softly before continuing. “And while it’s true what you said earlier, I’m not Tyler's property.”

Enid felt her move back and looked down to see her eyes staring back at her.

“But I would proudly be yours Enid Sinclair.”

Enid was going to have a heart attack at this point.

“I don’t know about property, but in Werewolf pack culture-”

“I would be your mate.”

Enid was momentarily stunned at the suddenness of the word, as well as the undeterred use of it.

“Y-You would…”

“Like I said, there is no one else I would rather be held by then you. If you wish to make me your mate, the feeling is mutual-”

Before Wednesday could say anymore she was once more embraced by the blonde, Enid pulling her into her arms and resting her cheek on Wednesday’s, leaning down to nuzzle into her cheek as they both indulged in the warm embrace of the other.

Enid may not have had the courage to confess her feelings to Wednesday earlier.

But it seemed the universe had thrown her a bone for once.

She had her mate, and no one would ever come between them.

As Wednesday allowed herself to relax into Enid’s strong arms, she tightened her grip around her waist.

The Addams Curse had finally struck.

But she had realized over time, maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing. If it meant feeling what she was right now, and no doubt what would only grow in time. She would gladly accept it.

And she’d been wrong in another respect.

Tonight had indeed been enjoyable after all, ever more so in fact.
