Chapter Text
“Why are there all these kids here?!” Sakazuki bellowed.
One of those brats giggled and latched himself onto one of Sakazuki’s legs. He looked too familiar with that large grin and yet his eyes were squinty. He wore a yellow shirt with a monkey head on the front.
“Oooh, Sakazuki~ I think I found your clone!”
His eye twitched and he was tempted to reach down and grab the kid clinging to him and toss him to Borsalino.
“Momma was right,” the kid laughed. “You were an old grouchy man before settling with her!”
Sakazuki’s twitch grew violent.
“Oi! Kuzan-chan! What’s with the brat?”
That went through one ear and out the other —as far as Kuzan was concerned, he didn’t care what any of the others were saying. Right now, his focus was on the kid that was sitting cross-legged from him, with the same hairstyle but lighter coloring of his skin and his eyes (more reminiscent of a certain female pirate captain he’d come to know).
“Mom’s right,” the boy huffed. “You went through a ‘stupid’ phase.”
His hand twitched, frost growing at his fingertips.
Alber didn’t know what was going on and why there was suddenly an almost exact clone of him in his arms. Aside from the boy’s eyes being rounder, the boy was more outgoing and carefree than himself.
He fondly ran his hand through the boy’s hair and saw the tiny black wings flutter happily.
“What is your name, little one?” he asked softly.
The boy gave a cute laugh but smiled widely. It was familiar somehow.
“I’m Monkey D. Prince!”
