Lighting danced around the sky this dark night, rain acting as its partner. The more they enjoyed it, the more it hit harder. Creatures big and small ran around seeking to find shelter from the danger of the treacherous tango.
One single soul was watching the show by his window. His heart felt like this storms funnily enough, as its beating was aggressive not unlike the storm outside.
For, he longed for another. One of brown, curly brown hair and bug-like features. Whose touch is light like feathers, but whose stare would linger on Rayman's mind for days. Their name was Apollo, a "Teensie-ma-jig".
His heartbeat quickened like a hare when he felt Apollo sit next to him, and Rayman's heart skipped like a pebble across the water.
"I don't like the lighting.." The brunette started to speak, his voice gruff. "...Its loud..."
The limbless' eyebrows softened, his affection growing. A floating hand placed its self on Apollos shoulder.
"I know... i know honey..." He looked away, trying to hide his flustered face.
However, he felt the shorter man tremble in a concerning way. Sweat appeared on his boyfriend's forehead, the droplets seemingly having a race from how fast they fell.
"Hey hey... are you okay?"
That's when Apollo broke down like a machine. Tears ran down his face as his body shook. The brunette's eyes closed shut. Suddenly, Apollo is pulled into Rayman's chest, and his eyes reopened for a moment.
Rayman's hands are soft as blankets, massaging Apollo's scalp. His touch was comforting in the same way as a stuffed animal.
"Shhh.. shhh... It'll go away.."
The couple rocked back and forth, the calming motion soothing both of them to sleep. Their cuddle acts like a shield against the tempest outside.
