He Calls Me Mommy

Summary:

Ahsoka had told herself repeatedly it wasn't true. She was just there to protect them. Right?

Work Text:

Ahsoka woke up to something hitting her in bed. The peace she felt was immediately replaced by her trying to sense what was coming through the silence.

Then came a body crawling onto the bed...

Luke grabbed at her arm for help before she quickly reached over and pulled him up to her. Her body eased into a peaceful state feeling him with her, knowing he was safe and sound.

"What's wrong honey? Another bad dream?" she sleepily asked, gently running her fingernails down the back of his head, causing him to shiver and press his body into her chest at the sensation.
"No. I'm alone."

Ahsoka wrapped her arms around him and held him close. His honesty knew no bounds and neither did his love.

"You're not alone. You're never alone. We're right here Luke."
"I don't want to be alone without you mommy."

It felt like a star destroyer hit her chest at light speed when his words registered in her head. Normally, he's called her Ashley.

"Must've been something at his daycare he picked up on." she tried to rationalize before the weight of it all overtook her.

Now it was her turn to shiver violently, so violently it shook the whole bed frame.

"Is you okay?" he asked, trying to pick his sleepy head up. At 2 years old, she knew there was something different about him compared to anyone else she'd ever known.
"I'm okay. Time for you to get under here with me." she said as he slid under the blankets, but didn't stop there. He wiggled his little self under her house coat and night gown and laid the side of his head on her warm chest.

Ahsoka was shocked, but would never dream of removing him from where he settled. Feeling his skin against hers only made her hold him a bit closer, remembering the times as infants they would finish their bottles, only to latch onto her chest and continue sucking. Then her mind remembered what he said.

"Mommy. He just called me that!" she thought to herself as his little body lulled her back to sleep just as much as she did him.
