Chapter Text
Buck wakes up at a sensation of unease - something's not right. Before he can find the cause, a hand gently shakes him and a whisper echoes in his ears.
“Buck. Buck. Wake up. ... Buck. Wake up, Buck.”
Letting out an sleeping sound, it takes him a while to figure out what's going on. He's in Wisconsin, in their house, Bucky's there and safe.
With difficulty, he opens one eye to discover Bucky's face so close to his own he has to squint a little to try and focus on the happy, joyful expression in front of him.
What?
"Wha's go'ng on?"
"It's been snowing all night, there is snow everywhere, come have a look. It's white everywhere, it's so pure, so pretty, come on Buck, it's …"
"Cold"
Bucky's jaw snaps shut at Buck's interruption and a questioning sound escapes his throat. He knows what woke him up now.
Why isn't Bucky in bed with him? He should be with Buck, snuggling in the warmth of their blankets, not out in the cold and leaving Buck all alone under the covers. The bed is too big just for him, especially without his heater Bucky.
“T's cold,” Eyes still closed, Buck quickly grabs Bucky's hand and pulls him towards the bed before he can react. Quickly lifting the blankets to let Bucky in without the heat escaping, he moves blindly to position them until he finds himself settled beneath Bucky's body, finally relaxing while letting out a sound of contentment.
Ah, much better
They could go see the pretty snow later, they'll have plenty of time. But for now, Buck just wants to soak up the warmth of their bed, their scents blend, the heavy weight of his Bucky enveloping him as he goes back to sleep for a little while longer.
