Work Text:
It's a typical day at the rehearsal studio, and the band members of Enterprise7 are gathered, each with their unique energy. The studio, a converted warehouse in the heart of the city, is filled with the hum of instruments and the occasional burst of laughter. The walls are adorned with posters of their past gigs and a large banner that reads "Enterprise7" in bold Helvetica font.
Jim and Spock sit side by side, their fingers intertwined as they lean against a stack of amplifiers. They've been married for years, and their love is as strong as ever. Despite the band's schedule, they can't resist stealing kisses whenever they get the chance. Today is no different. Jim leans in, and Spock meets him halfway, their lips meeting in a tender, loving kiss.
Nyota rolls her eyes playfully as she adjusts her microphone. "You two, get a room. We have a show to prepare for," she teases, but there's a warm smile on her face.
She knows how much they care for each other, and it's one of the things that makes the band so tight-knit. Scotty fiddles with his guitar, his eyes darting nervously toward Bones. He's been dropping hints about wanting to get married for months, but Bones either doesn't notice or is avoiding the conversation. Scotty's frustration is palpable, and Nyota can see it from across the room. She decides to take a moment to talk to him.
"Scotty, you need to just come out and say it," Nyota says, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Bones loves you, but he's not a mind reader. If you want to take the next step, you have to be direct."
Scotty sighs, running a hand through his hair. "I know, lass. I just don't want to scare him off. We've been through so much together, and I don't want to lose what we have."
Nyota gives him a reassuring smile. "You won't. Just be honest with him. That's what he needs."
Karu and Pavel are in their own world, jamming out on their instruments. Karu's drumming is powerful and precise, while Pavel's keyboard melodies add a layer of complexity to the music. They're both lost in the rhythm, their love for music evident in every note. Chrissy Chapel, the band manager, walks in, her clipboard in hand. She's the glue that holds Enterprise7 together, always making sure they stay on track and on schedule. She takes one look at Jim and Spock and shakes her head with a smile.
"Alright, lovebirds, let's get down to business," she says. "We have a big gig coming up, and we need to nail this performance."
Jim and Spock separate, but the love in their eyes is unmistakable. They join the others, and the band starts to play. The music fills the room, a blend of rock, soul, and a touch of the future. It's a sound that's uniquely Enterprise7, and it's what has made them a sensation. As they begin to play, Scotty takes a deep breath and decides to follow Nyota's advice. He waits until the band takes a break, then pulls Bones aside.
"Bones, there's something I need to talk to you about," Scotty says, his voice steady but filled with emotion.
Bones looks at him, a mix of curiosity and concern in his eyes. "What is it, Scotty?"
Scotty takes a deep breath and looks into Bones' eyes. "I love you, more than anything. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"
Bones is taken aback, but the smile that spreads across his face is genuine and warm. "Of course, I will," he says, pulling Scotty into a tight embrace.
The band cheers, and Chrissy claps, a tear of happiness in her eye. It's moments like these that make all the hard work and long hours worth it. But just as the celebration is reaching its peak, Karu and Pavel whip out a fire extinguisher from behind their drum kit and keyboard stand. They aim at Bones and Scotty, spraying them with a cloud of white foam. The two sputter and cough, their faces covered in the cold, soapy substance.
Karu grins mischievously. "Looks like we've decontaminated you of your sappiness," he jokes, high-fiving Pavel.
Before Bones can react, Karu and Pavel take off running, laughing as they dart around the studio. Bones, still sputtering, starts to chase after them, his eyes narrowing with playful determination.
"Get back here, you little pranksters!" Bones yells in a mix of laughter and mock anger.
Scotty, still grinning from ear to ear, cheers his fiancé on. "Go get 'em, Bones! Show them who's boss!"
The bandmates' laughter echoes through the studio, and the chase continues, adding a perfect, sassy note to the end of their rehearsal. Despite the chaos, the bond between them is stronger than ever, and they know they're ready to face whatever comes next, together.
