Once upon a time, long, long ago- Well, more like twenty years ago...
Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest personal friends.
Big cake!
Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon, Beast united all of the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon.
He rounded up the biggest island for the monsters of the world, the Land of Monsters, forbidden to interact with humans for the rest of time.
Talk about on the nose.
Then he rounded up all the villains and sidekicks- basically all of the interesting people- and he booted them off to the Isle of the Lost.
Asking the Fairy Godmother to create a magical barrier to keep them all there, in their respective Islands of course.
This is my hood. No magic. No wi-fi. No way out... Or so I thought.
Hang on, you're about to meet us, but first... This happened
–
Prince Ben of Auradon stood as the tailor fit him, looking out the window towards the Isle of the Lost and the Land of Monsters.
"How is it possible you're going to be crowned King next month, you're just a baby!"Beast exclaimed.
"He's turning sixteen, dear." Belle reminded him.
“Hey, Pops.” Ben said.
“16? That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least 42.” Beast said, raising his arms to the side for a moment.
“Uh, you decided to marry me at 28.” Belle turned away from the shirt she was looking at and looked at her husband questioning.
“Ah, it was either you or a teapot.” Ben laughed when his dad winked at him, while Belle looked at him with the ‘you are sleeping on the couch look’™.
“Kidding,” Beast put his hands up in defence.
"Mom, dad,"Ben started as he started to walk away from the tailor, but the tailor held him back.
"I've chosen my first official proclamation." His parents looked at each other happily. "I've decided that the children on the Isle of the Lost and the Land Monsters should be given a chance to live here, in Auradon."
Belle dropped the shirt she was looking at and gaped at Ben, along with Beast.
"Every time I look out to the islands, I feel like they have been abandoned,"Ben explained.
"The children of our sworn enemies, living among us? Much less the monsters that have caused terror across the world."Beast said doubtfully.
"We start with a few at first, only those who need our help the most. I already have them picked out."
"Have you?"Beast asked.
Belle placed a hand on Beast's shoulder to calm him.
"I gave you a second chance."Belle reminded him. "Who are their parents?"
"From the Isle of the Lost, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen, and Maleficent.” Belle gasped. The tailor dropped his notepad in shock.
“Maleficent! She is the worst villain in the land!” Beast yelled.
“Dad, just hear me out here!” Ben yelled right back.
“Dear.” Belle said sternly as the Beast sighed.
“And from the Land of the Monsters, The Mage Shubble, The LDshadowlady Mayor of the Crystal District, Smajor The King of Vampires, and Xornoth The Ruler Of Demons." Ben said quickly.
"WHAT! THE MAGE IS FINE BUT THE RULERS OF DEMONS AND VAMPIRES!"Beast yelled. "There's a reason they are monsters!"
"Dad, the children are innocent! Shouldn't they get a chance at a better life! And so what if their monsters, they still have feelings!" Ben said and The Beast sighed.
"I suppose their children are innocent."
––
A blonde haired demon ran through the alley, attempting to gain momentum to fly.
“You do know that that won't work either right? The barrier still hasn't changed in the past 20 years.” A girl with long blond hair that faded in a white along the tips said while sitting on a crate, as her pointed ear twitched for a moment before her head moved to the side, eying a taller boy with black horns poking out of his dark hair, who walked beside a much shorter boy, with fluffy brown hair that faded into yellow that covered his eyes.
“Who cares, I need to at least know how to fly when we get out of this hellhole!” Tommy yelled, not noticing the two walk up to them.
“Did you miss the part where I said 20 years? The chance of just getting out of this place is 1 out of gazillion.” Ivy turned her head back to Tommy as she spoke, “The chances of a barrier this strong, breaking before the 100 year mark is less than 0.1%!”
“Where are you getting these statistics, Ivy?” Ranboo said as he stepped up to the shorter girl.
“I don't always ditch school you know! Also dad told me.” Ivy crossed her arms and turned her head away from the group.
“Typical. Anyways, on the topic of parents, ours want us back at the house, apparently something urgent came up,” Tubbo said.
“If the house is burned down again I'm actually disowning myself.” Tommy muttered as he walked away.
“Didn't your dad already-” “SHUT UP IVY” Tubbo chasing after Tommy as Ivy jumped off the crate and ran after them with Ranboo hot on her tail.
–
“There are you four!” A man with blonde hair with cat ears poking out of it cried, “I swear if Joel and Scott get into another argument about this I am going to lose it!”
“What the hell- dad why are you arguing with Joel to the point Pa is upset?” Ivy asked, walking over to a man with red eyes and white hair standing, glaring at a man with brown hair with an orange streak through it.
The two turned to the door and stared at the children, the white haired man's hand came up to pat the younger girl's head. “Because Joel is being an idiot, thinking this a good idea!” Scott yelled, turning his head back to Joel as he made his fangs visible.
“Me? An idiot? Saids you! You won't even think about this! You can't tell me this isn't a good opportunity to break that stupid barrier! You can't tell me you don't want our homes back!” Joel yelled, walking up to Scott and pressing a finger to the taller man’s chest.
“Of course I want that! But not at the expense of my family! For crying out loud do you want to put your son in danger at the CHANCE of getting out?” Scott yelled right back, slapping Joel's hand away.
Tommy heard Katherine sigh as they yelled her gills closing in and out as Shelby placed her dragonoid hand on her shoulder.
“If both of you don’t stop fighting I promise I will hurt you.” Lizzie said as she stepped out of one of the next rooms, her fluffy tail bunching up behind her as her ears shifted.
Scott sighed as he turned away from Joel, turning back to the four kids in the room, “Sorry about this, but I think you would like to know that… Auradon has sent a letter, mandating that you go to the mainland and attend Auradon prep.”
Jimmy dropped down onto a chair on the opposite side on Katherine with a thud and placed his face in his hands.
“WHAT THE FUCK YOU MEAN AURADON?” Tommy yelled first, before Tubbo followed it up with, “MANDATE? YOU MEAN WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE?”
“Yes we mean exactly that.” Shelby said, pulling her hand away from Katherine, “They will be here to pick you four up in a few hours.”
“You can be serious, Dad is this what you were fighting about-” Ranboo turned to his father, staring at the Blazeborne in confusion.
“Yes, you have the chance to break the barrier once you leave, all three of you, may no have a good control of your powers due to the barrier but once you leave your abilities with be set free-” Joel was cut off by Ivy who sniffled and began crying which sent her parents into a panic, Scott who was in front of her placed a hand over her mouth before she could burst their eardrums, “And hopefully you get better control of your powers so you stop bursting our eardrums.” Ivy sniffled and hugged him. “Sometimes I wish you didn't inherit Jimmy’s vocal cords.” “HEY-”
“We just have to-” Joel started talking before Lizzie cut him off, “Joel, as much as it's a good idea, I would rather not put our children in danger of being killed, that man would do it no doubt. But asking them to risk their heads for the odds of being free is a cost none of us want to take, I doubt you do either.” Lizzie walked up to her husband and grabbed his face with her paws.
“Wait, so you're suggesting that when we go to Auradon we try and break the barrier?” Tubbo turned to Joel.
“No Tubbo, we thought it over and we don't want you to risk your lives for this, you will be allowed to come back at the end of the year if you wish but we do not want you four to try and break the barrier, the risks outweigh the pros.” Katherine stood up and placed her hands on Tubbo’s shoulders as she spoke.
“I guess it's a stupid idea…” Joel lifted his hands to lay them on top of Lizzie’s.
“We have to leave?” Ivy lifted her head from where it was pressed into her fathers chest. Jimmy stood up from his chair, placing his hand on Ivy’s head as he ruffled her hair, “Hey we have a few hours, it will be okay…”
––
Turns out a few hours was 2 hours, 2 hours to say goodbye and pack. No one was happy with the situation but they had to do it anyway.
The group hugged their parents goodbye, threw their bags in the trunk, and jumped in the limo where 4 teens were already waiting, One a girl with dark purple hair with highlights of lighter shades of purple with some curly parts and reaches a little bit over her shoulders, another girl with dark ocean blue hair and dark brown eyes, a boy muscular with long dark hair with a red hat, and a boy with white hair with black roots.
The Limo itself was long in size with a set of seats shaped in a U, with a row of candy and chocolate on one side, Ivy attempted to grab one, curious, but Tubbo quickly pulled her hand away. The small window open to the front seat had a man sitting on the other side, Tommy thought he 100% did not enjoy his job.
“So you're the famed monsters,” The boy with the red hat said, not really phrasing it as a question.
The four ‘monsters’ sat down, at the back end of the U shaped seats beside what they assumed were the Villain Kids.
“Jay, I'm pretty sure that's discriminatory in some way,” The blue haired girl says.
“Erm don’t worry we all sort of are aware that people call us ‘monsters,’ it's part of the territory when you look… well, like this,” Ranboo gestured to himself as he looked the most like a monster out of the three of them.
“I would expect you to be more… evil,” The purple haired girl said. Tommy heard the clink of a button from the purpled haired girl.
“I mean we don’t really have a reason to-” Ivy started before Tubbo called out.
“I know there is a closed off bridge from the land and the isle but should we be concerned that we are driving towards the sea?” Tubbo was looking out the window, a trickle of sweat falling down his face as he looked out the front of the car, to the sea that they were driving toward.
Oh no
“IT'S A TRAP! WE’RE GONNA CRASH!” the White haired boy said, jumping to hug Jay, dropping all the chocolate he was eating. The rest of the group began panicking all the same, Ivy clung to Tommy as Ranboo curled into themselves.
As they panicked they didn't see the barrier open as a bridge made of magic appeared.
The white haired boy turned to the rest of the people in the car, shocked. “What just happened?”
The blue haired girl looked out the window and then turned back to them, “It must be magic!”
The purple haired one quickly turned behind her to see the window to the driver’s seat open as she tapped the button against the wall of the car to the driver's attention.
“Hey. Did this little button just open up the magic barrier?” she asked.
“No, this one opens the magic barrier. That one opens my garage. And this button…” The man said as he pressed a button on the mirror above him, the ‘garage’ closing.
“Okay. Nasty. I like that guy.” The girl turned away slowly, tapping her leg with the button as she sat correctly.
–
Ivy heard a band playing as they waited to step out of the car.
“Oh! Ow! Ow! Stop! You got everything else! Why do you want whatever this is?” As they stepped out of the car, the white haired boy and Jay began fighting for a black rectangle off to the side, the band stopped playing as they fought.
“'Cause you want it!” Jay said.
“Is this normal?” Ivy asked.
“This is actually one of the better ones.” the blue haired girl said to Ivy.
“No! Give it to me! Ow!”
“Let go!”
“Guys, guys, guys!” The purple haired girl yelled, “We have an audience.”
The white haired boy wiped the chocolate around his mouth with his sleeve as the other boy helped him up. “Just cleaning up. Get up.”
“Leave it like you found it! And by that, I mean just leave it.”
A woman with short, dark brown hair and in a short-sleeved formal blue shirt, with golden buttons and a shirt collar, appeared in front of them.
“Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother.” She bowed a bit before continuing “Headmistress.”
“The fairy godmother?” the purple haired asked, waving around her hand if she was holding a wand, “As in, "Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo"?”
“Bibbidi-bobbidi you know it.”
“Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella when you just appeared, out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile.”
You're as subtle as a pie in the face , Ivy thought.
“Oh” said the Fairy.
“And that sparkling wand.”
“That was a long time ago. And as I always say, ‘Don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future!’" The fairy waved her hands in front of her face in a dramatic way.
“Don’t say it like that.” Tommy said, his pointed tail shifting behind him.
There was a long pause before the boy standing behind the Fairy Godmother spoke up, “It's so good to finally meet you all. I'm Ben.”
“Prince Benjamin. Soon to be king.” A girl with tanned skin and brown eyes. She wore a pink and fancy dress. The girl grabbed Ben’s hand as she spoke.
“You had me at prince. My mom's a queen, which makes me a princess.” the blue haired girl said, ivy could see the hearts in her eyes.
“The Evil Queen has no royal status here and neither do you.” The other girl said, poorly masked annoyance in her tone.
“This is Audrey.” Ben said before said Audrey ‘corrected’ him, “Princess Audrey. His girlfriend. Right, Bennyboo?”
“Bennyboo?” Tubbo echoed.
“Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow. The doors of wisdom are never shut! But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00. And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews.” The fairy said before Tubbo could gag.
“It is so, so, so good to finally meet you all. This is a momentous occasion, and one that I hope will go down in history... Is that chocolate? As the day our two peoples began to heal.” Ben began.
“Or the day that you showed Eight peoples where the bathrooms are.” The purple haired girl called, interrupting Ben.
“A little bit over the top?”
“A little more than a little bit.”
“Well, so much for my first impression.”
There was another silence before Audrey started talking. “Hey! You're Maleficent's daughter, aren't you? Yeah, you know what? I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff. Oh, my mom's Aurora. Sleeping…”
“Beauty! Yeah, I've heard the name. You know, and I totally do not blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world but my mother to their stupid christening.”
“Water under the bridge.”
“Totes!” They laughed for a moment before silence took over the group again.
“Okay!” Ben clapped his hands together, “So, how about a tour? Yeah?” Ben turned towards a statue with Audry on his arm, “Auradon Prep, originally built over 300 years ago and converted into a high school by my father when he became king.” as he talked he clapped his hands together at the statue, turning it into the beast, which caused the white haired boy to scream. “Carlos, it's okay. My father wanted his statue to morph from beast to man to remind us that anything is possible.” Good to know his name is Carlos , Ivy thought.
“Does he shed much?” the purple haired girl asked as she stared at the statue.
“Yeah, Mom won't let him on the couch.” Ben said as they walked into what they assumed was the school itself.
“So you guys have a lot of magic here in Auradon? Like wands and things like that?”
“Yeah, it exists of course, but It's pretty much retired. Most of us here are just ordinary mortals.”
“Ordinary? Yeah sure.” Tommy mumbled, before Ranboo smacked his head.
The purple haired girl glanced at them for a moment before responding, “Who happened to be kings and queens.”
“That's true. Our royal blood goes back hundreds of years.” Audrey commented, staring into Ben’s eyes.
Ben turned away from her, “Doug.” A boy with glasses, wavy brown hair, and green eyes looked up as he continued coming down the stairs, “Doug, come down.” Doug walked quicker down the stairs as he came to stand in front of Ben, “This is Doug. He's going to help you with your class schedules and show you the rest of the dorms. I'll see you later, okay? And If there is anything you need, feel free to-” “Ask Doug.” Audrey cut him off.
“Hi, guys. I'm Dopey's son. As in Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and... Heigh-Ho.” Doug paused looking like he was going to compost as he looked at the blue haired girl.
“Evie. Evil Queen's daughter.” She said, Another name that i didn't have to ask for good for me , Ivy blinked as she stared at Ranboo, who towered over everyone in the building, she saw many people do double takes at the 4 of them before beelining it away, even Ben did a another take when they stepped out of that limo.
“Okay. So about your classes, I, uh, put in the requirements already... History of Woodsmen and Pirates, History of Monsters, Safety Rules for the Internet, and, uh, Remedial Goodness 101.” Doug continued.
“Let me guess. New class?” The purple girl said, Doug nodded, “Come on, guys, let's go find our dorms.” She turned back to them and they started walking down the hallway before Doug stopped them, “Oh, uh, yeah, your dorms are that way, guys.” he said pointing at another hallway and they all walked past him, “Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and…” “Sneezy.” Carlos finished as he walked away.
