AITA: I slept with my ex-best friend’s wife. Again. How do I tell him I’m in love with him?
Smash206-throwaway - Me (31M) and my ex-best friend (31M) were always inseparable growing up. We went to boarding school, and we roomed together for 6 years. Looking back, I was a shithead to him, probably, but it was like, 2005. Being gay for your best friend was generally frowned upon. It was your typical intense homoerotic friendship, whatever. I’m sure you freaks know what I’m talking about.
Anyways, when we were 18, we met this girl. She was fucking incredible, a force of nature. Hottest woman I've ever seen. We both went after her, of course — we’re professional athletes, we’re naturally competitive. And I won, obviously.
That was when everything started going to shit. He tried to get between us, and kind of succeeded, but I thought it was cute, at the time. Until it wasn't. She and I had an explosive breakup, to say the least, and my best friend took her side. They both cut me off, which was bullshit, but whatever.
I ran into her again in 2011, only to find out that the two of them were engaged. Naturally, I slept with her, because I missed her and I missed him and I wanted them to remember I existed, you know?
Fast forward to now. They’re married, they have a kid, but I see them on TV and they look fucking miserable. We all ended up at the same competition this week (no I’m not telling you what sport) and I had a chat with my ex-best friend where he fucking eviscerated me. It was kinda hot, but also it kinda sucked.
His wife sought me out tonight, and we fought, like we always do, but we also fucked, like we always do. But I’m playing my ex-best friend tomorrow, and I don’t know how to play it. I really fucking miss him. Thoughts?

Either you can come up with some arrangement that works for all three of you, or you can part ways for good. But honestly I really think you need the closure. NTA, but this can’t keep going on.
