Chapter Text
Three weeks till UA started became one in what felt like no time, meaning it was time for those who were moving into the dorms they'd been offered to leave.
Their mother had been tearful, despite knowing they were just copies of her true son, claiming they were all unique and were just as important to her as Izuku was.
They nearly had to take a boat out of there after all the goodbyes were said, promising they would visit as often as they could.
Only Izuku and Zuku were staying behind to live with Inko, while Zu led the way to their new home.
Cementoss was there when they arrived, welcoming them to the dorms and briefly explaining the rules before allowing them to go up to their dorm rooms.
They were in the dorms for international students and each had their own room, a huge step up from just sleeping wherever they could find the space and Zu in particular was very excited by the prospect.
“There's so much space in here!” he shouted from his room, forgetting in his excitement that they could talk telepathically.
“Yes, there is,” Izuko agreed, “But there's no need to shout, we can hear your perfectly fine.”
They spent about an hour exploring their new home, before retiring to their rooms to unpack and get settled in.
Izuko started on unpacking his suitcase, before deciding he needed a cup of tea and went down stairs to make one.
While the jug was boiling, he saw Cementoss out in front of the dorms, speaking to a blond girl with large white horns on the top of her head.
Curious, he watched them for a few minutes, forgetting about making his tea, trying to figure out what her quirk might be.
As a result, he had to reboil the jug when he finally remembered why he was down there and was just stirring in the milk when she walked into the common room.
Her large eyes scanned the place, looking a little nervous.
“Hello, nice to meet you,” he called out, drawing her gaze as he gave a little wave.
“Um, hello, I am good to be... speaking with you?” she said haltingly, her words heavily accented. Evidently she was not a fluent speaker.
“Ah, you're American?” he asked, switching to English, one of several languages they'd learned over the years.
“Yes!” she said excitedly, looking relieved, “It's my first time in Japan and I'm still learning the language.”
“Well, you're doing pretty well,” he complimented her, “Your phrasing is mostly right.”
“Oh, thank you,” she beamed happily.
They chatted for a while, talking about why they were here, family back home, Izuko mentioned he's here with his brothers and that they're staying here to reduce the strain on their mother.
Eventually, the girl, who insisted he call her Pony, said she should head up to her room to unpack and get settled in.
As she reached the stairs, he called after her.
“Hey Pony,” he said, getting her attention, her big eyes focusing on him, “We're going to cook dinner later if you'd like to join us?”
“Yes please!” she nodded happily, pausing for a moment, before rushing up the stairs.
And as she disappeared, Izuko realised his brothers had been unusually quiet the whole time he'd been talking with her.
“Not a word from any of you,” he hissed, going back up to his room.
Mad cackling was their only response.
Later that evening, they were all down in kitchen, preparing dinner for themselves when Pony joined them, looking only slightly surprised to see five near identical boys sitting around the table.
“Um, hello,” she said in Japanese, “Am I good for joining you?”
“Of course!” Zu beamed, waving her to the table, “The more the merrier!”
“Thank you,” she said with a small bow, moving to sit beside Izuko, who gave her a vaguely surprised look.
“How did you know it was me?” he asked curiously in English, making her giggle.
“You look the most serious,” she replied with a grin.
“She's right you know,” Izzy smirked, sharing a look with Zu, who was putting on his best mock serious face, getting another laugh out of the American.
After that, they shared a wonderful dinner of katsudon and Pony got to know the rest of the brothers living at the dorms, finding great amusement in their antics, while being quietly relieved she'd already made some friends here.
After dinner, they sat around the common room and talked well into the evening, dropping off one by one till it was just Izuko and Pony left.
They spent another hour just talking about various topics. Pony was a little saddened to learn that Izuko wasn't attending the hero course, but he assured her it wouldn't stop them from being friends.
They both went to bed that night with smiles on their faces.
